We have completed munch's oddysee on the xbox and have just got stranger so we will be playing through that too. My question is.. does anyone have any information about meeches? I know they are extinct but is there any pictures of them? pre-production art mabye? well, thanks for any help, the oddworld games rock.

Yeah, I just played AO a thew days ago aiming to get dibey dibe mudokons, but instead I got 98, how tipical can you get.

Anyway, what I know about Meeches is that they like to hunt Elums in packs. Also if your woudering how the look like, heres an concept art.

wow, sweet thanks for that artwork.. is there any more concept art? I've looked on oddworld universe but didn't see any

Dipstikk 05-02-2005 08:48 AM

Not to our knowledge. That was the only released conceptual art for the Meech, and remains so to this day.

stingbee 05-02-2005 08:52 AM

well as they said in ao they are extinct.I was thinking maybe they are one of oddworld's first creature's and they were scraped.

Zom-B 05-02-2005 09:06 AM

yeah, i guess so.. damn, they look brilliant. I'm gonna buy this book of artwork i've read about on the forums. I hope its not really expensive.

Meeches fly around using gas propulsion technology. They're very clumbsy creatures which lurch about in the air. Once they catch their prey, the meat is passed to their mouth by the spines along their back.

Ha, ancient fan speculation is outragious.

Xavier 05-02-2005 10:55 AM

meeches were designed to be extinct, and they will stay like that...
perhaps we can see them in events taking place before the quintology

stingbee 05-02-2005 10:56 AM

what will oddworld do when they finifh the quintoligy

Xavier 05-02-2005 11:08 AM

probably do something else...
we don't know yet

Oddish 05-02-2005 12:27 PM

God, how I wish I could issue out warnings and ban people.

I actually think he's trying to be banned. Either that or he's playing "I'll show you" because of the trouncing we gave him in his goodbye thread.

This was the subject of a long discussion a while back but I think the conclusion was that they have four jaws: top, bottom, left and right. The right one is just not visible in that image.

Oddish 05-03-2005 08:01 AM

Are you sure?... it could be true.

sligco 05-04-2005 04:32 AM

ya i saw the meech but it dint giv me a very good picture of wat they look like

stingbee 05-04-2005 07:26 AM

I coulden't quite make out what it looked like in ao,but until I seen the avatar on here I knew what they looked like.

Wil 05-04-2005 12:54 PM

Meech jaws: Lorne himself said they have four, but the picture suggests three. Nate's suggestion is the workaround.

I don't know who came up with that description of Meeches, as they were on a usenet group I was never part of, and which now no longer exists. The information is second hand, although third hand really, as the usenet guy said it came from an insider source.

OddAlchemist 05-04-2005 04:47 PM

when i first saw it i thought meeches were the elums just they used a diffrent name for the product. i think i was 12 when i figured out they were diffrent
