Fan OddChat this Weekend/New OddChat IRC Address
Following on from the Oddworld Party post, we have decided to schedule an OddChat this weekend as our own online launch party. We hope that many people can attend to make it a fun time for all.
We have decided on 5pm PST (US time) on Saturday, which will be 12pm EST (Australian time) on Sunday. Edit: for those who live in other countries, go to www.timezoneconverter.com to find out your time. Also, for those of you who use an IRC client like mIRC, please note the new address: Server: irc.cjb.net port: 6667 (this remains the same) Room: #oddchat This has changed from the old #oddchat.cjb.net address which was taken over by someone else. Myself ad Sydney now are the admins of the new room. If you use the web-based client, the URL remains the same. Abe Babe... P.S. Don't forget that Alf also said that some of the Inhabitants may drop into OddChat on launch day... so if you're around be sure to check in. Did alf really say that OI people may come to Oddchat on launch day? That's a shame...I'll have to keep pausing MO to look over to my computer and check for Inhabitants...If any inhabitants do come, maybe someone could yell in bright red text so we could all pry ourselves away from munch and congratulate them on their awesome game...I might turn up for the "official online launch party"...but I'd expect to be madly scrambling to get all the homework I neglected over the weekend done...

Hopefully we will get a good showing of people to make it an enjoyable chat. (Who remembers the times after the OWI OddChats ... it was always fun ~ except when I was busy preparing transcripts for my site!). We might consider another OddChat in a couple of month's time... we don't want to make them too common, otherwise no one will come.
I think next time we will schedule a time which is good for Europeans, as this time we went with an Au/US time hoping we'd get some people who had Munch ... and I think we only got 3 people from the US turn up. Plus, it will be good to give those from UK/Europe that did stay up, a chance to have a decent time. Overall, it was a good event, and those of us that came had... let's say a really crazy time. If anyone wants a transcript of the chat I can post it up if you are interested. Abe Babe... |
