Lorne Lanning interviews on G4TechTV today
If you get G4TechTV, today's episode of Attack of the Show featured a lengthly, in-depth interview with Lorne Lanning about Oddworld Inhabitants.
I caught it live just now, but they replay the show at midnight tonight for anyone who missed it. http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/...MADL_Show.html |
Yeah, I just turned on the tv and my jaw dropped. Im so glad to see Lorne getting out there and making himself noticed again and explaining things better. Btw, did you see the Oddworld commercial-ish thing before the interveiw. Im not sure if it'd actually be considered a commercial seince it was one of thoughts things that feature the logo of G4tv. Anyways, the only part I caught was a bunch of Sligs running by. Could this be part of Lornes new outreach to other media?

:( man i want 2 watch dat but i got school 2morow
|
I can't watch it, because we don't get G-4. I don't think...
Didn't it used to be TechTV? |
yeah i did use to be techtv...then it was g4techtv, but now its g4 O_o;

Can someone who's seen it please give an outline of what was said? And for bonus points* write a transcript?
*points may be redeemed for respect, honour and other intangible (and thus inexpensive) benefits. |
I'll be taping the midnight show on my computer so I won't have to stay awake all night. Thanks for the heads up UnforgivingEdges!

Oh...and I saw the Oddworld episode of Icons the other day. Very touching. -oddguy |
A transcript would be great indeed.
what's that icon program you are talking about? I'm going to report the news when I'm home, thank you UnforgivingEdges |
That's great news UnforgivingEdges, but I don't the have the channel over here. You americans are lucky.
|
Yeah, i don't have it either.*sniff*
|
I don't have it, I wish I could've saw it.
|
Great news! Thinks are looking up for the Quintology being continued in some form me thinks, seems like they aren't going away, just getting better :)
|
It was a good interview, I'm feeling more confident about OWI's future. There was nothing all that new, basically just clarification. One thing I didn't know, was that they are creating an innovative game engine that can be used to create high-definition CG television shows, or something like that.
|
I hope it won't be something like that awfull DonkeyKong show we had over here some years ago. I was an actor with motion detectors on him, and his moves were retranscribed on a virtual alter-ego, DonkeyKong.
I'm sure OWI has something much better, but I wonder how it will work. |
I don't know, but I was thinking something like Starwars:clone wars, or Samuria Jack, they got that good atmosphere. Ecept CG of course.
|
Goof news. So did Lorne clarify the movie theory?
|
:
"We haven't greenlighted anything yet, but we strongly pushing in that direction." |
Damn, I don't get G4 either. My girlfriend does, but I wasn't aware in time. I'll try to catch it next time it reruns. According to the G4 website:
NEXT AIRING: 4/24/2005 12am ET / 9pm PT Digital Filmmaking, Lorne Lanning, MAD*L Show Episode #5064 Thanks for the heads up! |

Excellent news : nobody will have to create a transcript, because G4 have done it all for us.

Woot, great article :D
I am getting really excided. |
Yeah, so am I. I was worried about all of the changes at first, but I can honestly say that after reading that article, I feel much better and more positive about the new direction that OWI are headed now. :)
|
Wow, that really clears things up and is reassuring.
The only thing I'm worried about now is the game quality decreasing because of the external production and, let's face it, games of movies aren't usually great. |
But this isn't a game based on a movie; this is a movie that a game was based on. The fact that the game came out first is irrelevant.

... No.
Enlighten me. |
that's exactly Fangus' description...
