I have a feeling Fangus will be on Xbox Live...
Well that, and the fact that Lorne said he wanted to make the next game Live compatible. (He said OWI wanted to just focus on getting the main game done in Stranger, which is why it wasn't Live)
Since Fangus has guns (from the concept art) I would think their would be some kind of multiplayer involved in. Or it could be an entirely different approach from what we have seen. Then there will be downloadable content as well, which if there is no multiplayer could really make the game have mroe replay value. |
That would give OWI a lot more credibility in the Live-demanding gamer world, so it really wouldn't surprise me. However, it would mean I'd have to get Xbox Live to experience it to the max.
I do wonder how a multiplayer mode would fit itself into the Oddworld Universe - surely they'd have to make the circumstances as generic as possible. |
:
But Max what is keeping you from getting Xbox Live? |
Oh god let there be bots. I don't have Xbox Live, and I don't intend to get it. I have a strong feeling that it won't be included, since they didn't include many options in Stranger's Wrath. I mean, if you can barely get a multiplayer mode in there, what's to say that they will cover all bases? What's more, how many Oddworld fans have an Xbox Live subscription?
BAH! |
ConkerTribe, are you from Rare-Extreme.com?
Anyway, yeah bots would own (Perfect Dark anyone?). Makes me upset bots weren't in the Halo 2 multiplayer. I think I have seen a few Oddworld fans here have Xbox Live...but since the number of Xbox Live gamers has grown since Halo 2 came out, there would be more of a chance of people playing Fangus on Live. |
:
Or just as bad, I end up not spending time on it while paying for it. :

:
Although during the past 2 months...many people have gone back to playing older Xbox Live titles to take a break from Halo 2, also new titles. There isn't a game on Xbox Live that doesn't have people. You will always find someone to play with in any game...but just don't expect hundreds of thousands like Halo 2. But when the new maps come out for Halo 2, many people will start playing Halo 2 again...leaving other Xbox Live games quite empty. :
Like you said, most critics are starting to complain that if a game doesn't have Live (No matter what genre) it lacks overall. This isn't entirely true of course, but it has been a trend for most games right now on Xbox to support Live functionality. |
:
But I agree, they are trying to branch out to other gamers, but I actually just wanted them not to neglect the fans out there with no subscription to XBL. I mean, it's one thing to want to further your fanbase, it's another to alienate an entire fanbase all together in favor of another. |
:
But I am also not so into Live. It would be too expencive for me, for only playing oddworld online. I have also a ps2, with online adapter, and I barely use that, while it is free. (okay, end of the week I will be starting again, when the exams are over, and I have Timesplitters 3). Online would be great, but please just make it also for ps3, so the online stuff can be free :) |
Im begginning to think that Fangus may the protagonist of OWIs' first feature film...
|
i have Xbox-Live and it would just be SO awesome to play an oddworld game on it!
I realy hope Fangus is going to be multiplayer:) |
I wish I had X-box live. That would be so awesome if I had it!
|
Fangus is cancelled and Oddworld is dead :)
Doesn't that just tickle your insides? |

When you buy the Xbox Live kit in stores, you already paid for the subscription...or you can always use those 2-Month free trial cards. |
Yeah, 50 dollars, and how many hours would I spend on it? Say about 40 hours total.
Then the next year, I have to pay agian if there is a new online oddworld game, so another 50 bucks, or something like that. No, not for me, too expensive. |
