Cartoonists

I have created a Cartoon that I wish to start pitching. For copywrite reasons I am not going to go into detail here. The problem is that I am not a cartoonist. To pitch this as an unknown I would probably need to have at least some rough animations. If anyone here would like to take part in a SERIOUS project than please let me know. If you have strong Christian beliefs you may not want to take part in this. This is an adult cartoon that crossed the line of blasphemy a long time ago.

If you decided to pitch it as 'unknown,' wouldn't you receive any credit?

What I'm saying is that I'm an unknown. You need to have a little extra if you have no name recognition.

I would love to pitch out a few designs, but animation isn't a strong point of mine. I am, however, loosely familiar with Flash. How professional were you wanting to make this? Like... web-based Flash or a full-fledged traditionally animated pilot?

Mac seems pretty good with Flash. You might try to get a hold of him. That failing, you could always hit up Dip for some character designs and/or color.

As far as blasphemy goes, I can usually handle any kind of blasphemous humor you can throw at me, as long as it is actually clever or funny. I can offer you my oath as an artist that I will not steal, leak, or otherwise totally rip any part of your plot line if you decide to divulge any info to me (I know that doesn't mean jack shit over the internet though). But whatever. I won't have anything serious (art-wise) going on in the next few months, so shoot a PM my way if it's cool with you.

If your worried about copyrighting, one useful method is to post yourself, both your concepts and your ideas with the date enclosed, then at least if something does go wrong you have a little something to fall back on. You have some evidance supporting that it is your creation. Thats the easy method. Not most relaiable, but certianly a doable method.

As an additional form of insurance for free copyrighting, you can always seal your ideas in a package, get some sort of postage including a date (or any form of dated notarization enclosed inside, like Elodie said), and mail it to yourself.

Since tampering with sealed mail is a federal offense, your sealed and untampered package would hold up in court once opened by a third party... like, you know, a judge.
