Relations

Who are related in Oddworld?

Scuz McGee and Explosives McGee sound like they could be related due to their names.
Jo Mamma, Nilsworth Pokey o'Shaftster, Elboze Freely seem to be of the same species, just look at their ears.
Boilz Booty, Blisters Booty, most of the Outlaws seem to have the same kind of shaped jaw, so they could be of the same species.
Mudokons & Grubs? Maybe?
What do you think, have you found any more?

mudling 03-21-2005 11:48 PM

obviously glockons and oktigi (sketo), slog and slegs and to some peoples annoyence fagus and steef. gabbits and mudokons have a resemblence as do vykers and interns. of course bats, birds and bees come in more than one form in oddworld. and maybe, just maybe, grubbs and outlaws. sligs look a little bit like parrimites.
i think grubbs a just a way of getting away from abe and therefore making a new speacies which resemble mudokons. the glocktigi are supposed to be the "bad guys" of the oddworld games but i hope this changes and maybe we even end up with a gluckon hero!
hope that helps!

a flock of seagulls 03-21-2005 11:54 PM

glukkons ARE octigies (my sig being an example type thingy)
EDIT:
heres a pic showing it, http://depthsofoddworld.com/images/u...rod_octigi.htm
but there's a certain simolarity between fuzzles and boombats i just cant put my finger on...
probably because either way the finger comes off.

Fuzzle Guy 03-22-2005 12:03 AM

BoomBats and Bats. Chippunk and a Stunk could possably be of the same type, Wolvarks and Clakkers look alike

mudling 03-22-2005 12:20 AM

i'm sorry and also so thudslugs and zap flies are possibly realated.

Kimon 03-22-2005 03:49 AM

Where is the similarity between Wolvarks and Clakkers? Plus, bats are not from Oddworld, so it isn't really valid to say they're similar. Personally, I think the Grubbs are long-lost cousins of the Mudokens.

Fuzzle Guy 03-22-2005 05:00 AM

It look like the Calkkers and Wolvarks both have beaks, they wear overalls, they're just different colours.

Kimon 03-22-2005 05:15 AM

Wolvarks don't have beaks. Plus, they're skin is reptilian and they're relatively skinny. Clakkers have beaks, they also have feathers, and they're fat little guys. They resemble chickens, Wolvarks do not.

Just cuz they both wear overalls doesn't mean they look the same.

I know they don't have beaks, now that I look at them it doesn't look like Clakkers at all, but when I first saw them I thought that they were evil Clakkers, tryna kill you because you were a steef.

The clackers also wanted to kill you because you're a steef

So how good are they anyway?:fuzmad:

Oh, okay. I guess that makes sense.

Fuzzle Guy 03-23-2005 10:46 AM

Stunkz & Chippunks, Bolamites and Paramites maybe?

Kimon 03-23-2005 10:57 AM

Stunks and Chippunks maybe. But again, I have no idea where you get the similarity between Bolamites and Paramites. They both have 'ite' at the end of their names, but that is absolutely it.

Fuzzle Guy 03-23-2005 10:58 AM

They both Shoot webs out of their Bum :p

haha :P that's funny

Kimon 03-23-2005 11:05 AM

*sigh* I GUESS... ;)

Oddish 03-23-2005 11:29 AM

Those Goat like creatures and Meeps. Clakkerz do have similarity to Mudokons.

erhm I did understand the first one butehm clackerz and mudokans?:fuzconf:

Oddish 03-23-2005 11:57 AM

Yes, both mudokons and clakkerz can grow feathers . Have same head shape, it's like mudokons evolved from them.

And the goat creatures are the ones in Fangus ;)

Wil 03-23-2005 12:38 PM

Scuz McGee? Where'd you get that last name from?

Yes, Blisterz and Boilz belong to the same species - they're brothers. Plus, Jo' Mamma, Nilsworth and Elboze are all of the same species - they are all Outlaws.

Glukkons and Octigi belong to the same taxanomical family, but they're not one and the same. Given that Octigi is a species name, I expect the term ‘Octigi Family’ is only partially correct, now.

:

Plus, bats are not from Oddworld, so it isn't really valid to say they're similar.

The bats in Abe's Oddysee are called Bats. They're most definitely from Oddworld.

Grubbs and Mudokons do look as thought they share a common ancestry, I agree, but Grubbs evolved from fish, and Mudokons from birds.

Fuzzle Guy 03-23-2005 11:39 PM

By this do you mean that that fish at the beginning is a baby, or one that they're catching, if so, they've got some nerve to eat the Ancestors.

And do you mean that Baby Mudokons are birds, because I found a picture on Oddworld.com with a baby Mudokon.

mudling 03-23-2005 11:46 PM

i think he means that the fish and birds envolved into grubbs and mudokons. like how humans ancestors are apes. not like how gabbiwogs change into gabbits. eating is part of survival, the grubbs needed to eat to survive, and what else would you eat when you live above a river? what i mean is that the grubbs didn't have anything against the fish, but they needed it to survive.

Fuzzle Guy 03-24-2005 12:11 AM

I'd eat the Clakkers, they killed the Grubbs over fishing... but that's defeating the object, because if the Grubbs didn't fish then the Clakkers would have no need to kill them which means that they wouldn't have to kill the Clakkers over food, which means they'd be back to eating fish!

The Big Cheese 03-24-2005 01:55 AM

slogs and those other sloggy things in OWSW cant remember what there called

and that octiguy thing is cool its like a different breed of gluckon for somereason that is so cool to me....kinda like getting back to the roots of oddworld LOL

oh i just finished OWSR!!!!

:fuzblink: !?

Esus 03-25-2005 11:33 AM

The Clakkerz don't kill Grubbs because the Grubbs eat fish - why the hell would they?
In fact, what evidence do we have to suggest the Clakkerz kill Grubbs at all? None, as far as I can see. Of course, part of their settling along the Grubb habitat would require them to 'drive out' the Grubbs, but they may not have killed any of them.
Least of all over fish...

duveaux 03-25-2005 12:03 PM

Relations topic huh?
they're relation is we think they don't kill eachoter:P

I didn't notice the head shape, but they can both grow feathers.... but they still seem a little distant to be called relatives.

Fuzzle Guy 03-26-2005 01:01 AM

Yeah, plus, Mudokons grow feathers as they become more spiritual, I'd hardly call Clakkers Spiritual.
