ODD talk...origins?

Well, I thought maybe it would be fun to theorize where the characteristic OW speechs come from, so I just thought I'd point out two finds I made :p

in Fight Club
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0137523/
when Marla played by Helena Bonham http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000307/ meets jack(protagonist) in the street before they go into the diner, and she complains to him about the "space monkeys", I think she sounded exactly like a Glukkon the first time, I couldnt even tell what she was saying, so I guess this speech comes from angry americans :p.

in "that thing you do"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117887/
when the protagonist meets Del Paxton played by Bill Cobbs, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0167850/ I thought he sounded a lot like a mud, I guess it makes sense since some black people have a pretty musical speech.

Do you mean the sound of the voices? Because that can probably be attributed to Lorne sitting alone in a quiet room for a little while.

Fuzzle Guy 03-22-2005 05:12 AM

In MO and SW Glukkons and Octigi are done by Michael Bross, the composer fro the Oddworld Music.

Xavier 03-23-2005 06:37 AM

voices are made by ceveral inhabitants...
all the heroes are made by Lorne Lanning

duveaux 03-23-2005 09:40 AM

All the heroes like stranger abe and munch?

Joe the Glukkon 03-23-2005 11:30 AM

Yep, says so in the credits.

Wil 03-23-2005 11:36 AM

The voice of Mr Sekto was done by Lorne Lanning, not Michael Bross.

duveaux 03-23-2005 11:55 AM

So what I do understand from all the posts om this topic is that lorne lanning did the voices of mr sekto abe, munch and stanger?
and that micheal bross did the clackerz voices?

Abe16 03-28-2005 05:12 PM

If you've beaten the game, doesn't the movie select show credits?

Nate 03-28-2005 06:12 PM

You can view them at any time from the movie viewer. But I can't be bothered sitting down with a pen and paper in front of my tv.

MojoMan220 03-28-2005 07:45 PM

Yikes, Lorne Lanning is talented! I knew he did a lot of voices, but damn that's a lot!

Abe16 03-28-2005 09:25 PM

Wow, Lorne must be an excellent voiceover!
