a feat to end all feats
i am issuing a challenge to everyone.
last week, i beat oddworld: abe's exoddus, saving all 300 mudokons, without dying. granted, exoddus is a bit easier than oddysee. but tonight, i accomplished that same feat in abe's oddysee. all 99 mudokons saved without dying once. see if you can do the same. i will lay some rules to eliminate frustration: if you're killed on accident i.e. you fall off a ledge in the scrabanian temple trial selection part or some other similar thing, the death doesn't count. if you can think of any other rules that would ease frustration, make them up. but i didn't die, by ledge, bat, bee, or otherwise. give it a shot, it's pretty exhilirating, especially the nest levels and the boardroom level. |
No thanks... I would like to keep my monitor for another few years before beating it into submission... >_>
|
Done it already. That's a good challange. =)
|
I did it too, AO and AE.
|
Not I. I die about 40 times every time I play AO.
|
Wow. Impressive.
|
Funny because I am just about to re-play both AO and AE. Doing it without dying..I can tell you right now that just won't happen. I just am not that talented!! :D
|
I could never do that either. Especially in AO. Just seems impossible in my view. Unless I practiced playing over and over again or something.
Abe Babe... |
wow, that's crazy!
I don't think I'd be able to play the game that way |
i never did that! you both are extremly talented!
|
Beat it without dying? I've done that...after all, I'm still sitting here typing on this forum, ain't I?
Oh...wait...you mean Abe... No thanks. I have no wish to spend my remaining days in a sanitarium spouting, "Dun dun dun!" |
it really isn't that hard.
the hardest parts are the secret in the stockyard escape, the secret in Paramonian Temple Trial 5, and the secrets in Scrabanian Temple Trials 7 and 8, as well as the Boardroom level. you should give it a shot. it's quite entertaining. the sad thing is, that i know the entire game by heart now, though. =\ |
Yes, it was bad enough when I was younger trying to get through AO, full stop. Somehow, although now I am much more of a calm gamer, I do not think this is accomplishable (For moi). On AE, probably, though. I shall try this...
EDIT: Good thing I've got that GBA to AV adpater, my TV just exploded... :fuzemb: |
Dude, that's both utterly crazy and a brilliant idea! I'm positive it's been suggested before, though. AO and AE are easy to master, because there are only certain points you can stand on the ground, and character AI is pretty formulaic, so you know everything that's going on. Button-pressing almost becomes routine.
But I wouldn't dare take up the challenge, at least not now. I fear getting up to even the Stockyards, dying, and entering depression at the prospect of having to repeat everything over. |
:
The challange is simply insane. I mean, what if you played the entire game, rescued all 99 mudokons, landed in the boardroom, killed the directors and sligs, and were just about to pull the gas off lever when you run out of time? I'd shoot my computer, probably. |

I did it with AE, but doing with AO sounds impossible!
|
The challenge should really be all 4 games streight through with several breaks throughout the time playing so you can eat or do whatever
Ive done it with all 4 games AO, AE, MO, and SW. I stayed alive in all 4 games. Beat that buddy! I tell you though that was the longest time I have ever played. I was fortunate to get a lot of free time on my hands to play all 4 games streight through without dieing. Its actually not as long as you think it is because if you just play through without messing around in paticular areas then the games move at steady pase. :D I love it because I am keeping a record for myself. I think that should be the challenge. Before I say how long it took me I warn you that you need a lot of free time to do this. I devoted two days and two nights and a lot of coffie plus several breaks throughout the time. Thats what your looking at. I was able to do this because I had a week off from school other family was on vacation and I diden't have to go to work for two days. So there we go. Paramiteabe... :fuzblink: |
