Wal*Mart
ok im in the Town where them little people who kinda remind me of Polly Shour and it was all underfire and alll .... i killed every one in it and Stranger sead something like Damn Wal Mart Skum .... whats he saying?
|
He's saying "Wolvarks." Those green dudes in the blue jumpsuits who's ass you kicked were called "Wolvarks."
|
You know, Wal-Mart scum might apply in this case. :D

I dont get it *looks around like a confused idiot*

ah okay, thanks *that was obvious wasnt it?

One time I looked at a Starbucks sign and thought of how it would sound backwards without the K. "Scubrats." And for some reason I thought that would be a great name for a Glukkon company. And Wal Mart would be awesome too as part of the Magog Cartel. So far we've seen a meat empire and a brewery, among other things. What's the next step? Overpriced coffee shops and oppressive discount superstores. Heh heh.
|
Are we at all certain who it is doing the shopping on Oddworld? I doubt the Glukkons buy most of their own crap, they know what's in it. I suppose the Clakkers and Wolvarks are sort of Oddworld's middle-class consumers. The Mudokons are slaves, and I think Sligs are like soldiers on perpetual active duty (just buying cigarettes from the barracks' store).
|
The Khanzumers buy the Glukkon products. "Khanzumers"? You see? "Consumers"?
I dunno that's what I read. Somewhere. I think the Clakkerz probably buy stuff as well. There are a couple of billboards in Buzzarton with Clakkerz on them, so that would seem to indicate that Clakkerz buy these products. |
well iknow all the oddworld storys have underline things telling us about the world ... like in the ABE's game they where all telling us about how we are killing our world ... i just dident know if it was sabliminal walmart
|
Nope, because Walmart would be a human refrence.
|
Yeah, like SoBe. Stuff like that would never make it into the game …
Clakkerz doubtless buy Glukkon and Vykkers products, but I've a feeling they prefer their own foods and local produce. |
:
That would be true EXCEPT SoBe was being endorsed/was endorsing Munch's Oddysee, and Wal Mart isn't endorsing Stranger. It was "Wolvarks." My friend Mike thought they said Wal Marts too, Max_Yo. |

Well yes, I don't imagine Clakkerz performing surgery. I meant they preferred their own foodstuffs and remedies than relying on Glukkon junk food and Vykkers consumer pharmaceutics, simply because they're close minded and all-too-satisfied with everything Clakker-y. Good for them, actually.
In hope there is room for more explicit cracked mirror views on globalisation and TNCs here, as mainstream shops move in on Clakker settlements, ruining their own businesses and trades, as an edition of The Daily Deception Online suggested. It would give them much more character and likability. |
What is this Daily Decpetion Online that I keep hearing everyone talk about?...
