Oddworld Inhabitants are moving?
Yes, they are. From San Luis Obispo to Emeryville! Where the hell is Emeryvill anyway? I'm guessing is in the USA, well it's quite exciting for OWI.
I found it on www.Oddblog.net , but this is only a bit of the information, there is more I think, you have sign in. I tryed, but it wouldn't. |
Emeryville, emeryville, ummmm, never heard of it. But I can look it up!
EDIT:It's in California. Hey! That's near where i live! Cheers! :cheer:  |
Guese they need a bigger work space now that they start to become serious :D
|
very serious. they are propably making another Oddworld game thats gonna rock!
|
Yeah, and they probaly won't be on top of a cloths shop.
|
They'll maybe work in tall building with tons of room to make models of the next oddworld hero and stuff!
|
They don't use models anymore.
|
Yeah, that's good idea :)
|
Emeryville is still in CA
|
It's in northern california.
|
I never would have guessed they would move. Perhaps they are expanding to a larger complex? Sounds good anyway, but they'll be right next to San Fransisco, as well as the University of Berkeley... Perhaps the university is the reason.
I've attached a map of it, just because I was interested in finding Emeryville :p Alcar... |

My guess they will have a larger complex, so they will maybe be able to hire more people! that mean more work on the games, meaning they will be finished quicklier.
OR BETTER, they can have they own movie studios!!! |
Yeah, I think that's true what you say Xavier. I think the reason for moving is for building a movie studio.
But, when you move, do you keep all of your stuff, and bring it with you? or do you throw away the old stuff, that you are never gonna use again?? Maybe they will find some stuff that they don't want to keep, so for the ones who live in the area, go visit them and ask, you've got no, you can get yes :) |
Oddworld keeps everything... trust me on that...
Emeryville: Pixar, Lucas Arts and ILM are all there, OWI will feel home there in no time :D |
Omg really??? i'm an hour and a half from there *wait no, an hour!!*!!! *does cheer*!!!!!!! YES!!!! lol its in california
EDIT: check that, i live 30 minutes away!!! totally awesome |
I'm 2 hours away! SWEET!
But which one do you think if they make a movie that Pixar, wait, no, Luca- no not that, maybe they might make they're own movie production. |
so they move...
hope its a bigger building so they can make more games:p |
OWI are clearly doing their best to make the movie completely in-house - moving on the doorsteps of Pixar, Lucas Arts and ILM just means they're going to be rubbing shoulders with the Big League Boys: and that's just great!
I'm also hoping the move means expansion in preparation for the movie. But, you know, as Xavier discovered, there could be something much more personal behind the whole thing: http://emeryvillesportfishing.com/ :p However, even more exciting than that, OWI will be working 168 kilometres closer to me every day than they are in SLO, and 173km closer than they were in Los Osos. I'm sensing strong overtones of fate⦠|
Or some bigger project (maybe new game).
|
I realy think this is good news for an Oddworld Movie!!!
I want movies, I want movies, I want mooooooooooviiiiiiiiiieeeeees *turns berzerk |
Bugger bugger bugger. Second half of this year I was going to be studying in CalPoly, located in the picturesque mountain town of SLO. I was so happy to be close to the action, so to speak, and I was going to try and get an internship, or at least a tour. And now they had to up and move on me. Bugger.
EDIT: that article hardly sounds definite about it so I'll wait for confirmation before beginning my mandatory period of mourning. |
Hell, I miss all the news when I am occupied by certain games.
I'm going to miss that place. Three visits now. I loved that studio. It was totally kick ass and suited Oddworld perfectly. Although I'm sure that their next place will be modified to be just as "odd" and not like a usual boring office. I loved San Luis Obispo. It was a nice place. I kind of can't imagine them being in a bigger area near San Francisco. Although if it means a chance for bigger and better things then I think it will be for the best. Abe Babe... |
