Females

is there anyone but me who has notised that there are only males in the oddworld games?

(i wonder how a female mud looks)

AWWW 02-15-2005 01:08 AM

That was untill Munch Oddysee came along.
Wasn't one of the Vykkers (Irwin) in Munch Oddysee female (she worn lip stick in one of the CG clip)??Heres some infol profile on them.
There was also the Glukkon Queen (lady Margaret), who makes a indirect apparences also in Munch Oddysee.
There are mention of Sam (Abes mom/Mudokon Queen!!) and Slig queen Skilla (from a post from Sligster).
Theres already a thread about female muds called Female Mudokon. Seems that there are pictures of them in the Oddworld art book too.

On a different note all creatures in Oddworld do not seem to have a nose.
Or at least no visble nostrils...

Dipstikk 02-15-2005 04:09 AM

Humphrey and Irwin are both male in personality, but Vykkers are naturally hermaphroditic (male AND female).

Oddish 02-15-2005 08:07 AM

There also a female Grubb, Clakker, and Outlaw.

Xavier 02-15-2005 08:51 AM

Stranger is the first game to feature Females
but you had the voice of Margareth in the bad ending of MO
and a mention of Sam, the mudokon mother in the end of AE

Cyber-Slig 02-15-2005 08:53 AM

I think he's talking about the previous games, Oddish. And it's been cleared up that the females are queens. Although we've yet to see one.

Cyber-Slig, I think he said just oddworld games, SW is an oddworld game. And not all females are queens.

Cyber-Slig 02-15-2005 09:48 AM

But he does'nt have Stranger yet. I'm the only non-American/Canadian with it.

Xavier 02-15-2005 10:18 AM

not true... Oddipus, a belgian, has a modded Xbox and allready finished the game

Abes Fellow Friend 02-15-2005 12:22 PM

Yeah there was another Glukkon was the Brewmaster Glukkon from Abe's Exoddus, wasn't that glukkon a female, seemed like it to me...

Brewmaster wasn't a female o_O

Phat_man 02-15-2005 03:36 PM

The thing about the nostrils munch has nostrils ,but they are between his eyes much like many of the outlaws and clakkers from SW.

Dipstikk 02-15-2005 03:53 PM

Where's this guy getting his info? This is just as bad as that guy who claimet that Glukkons were a type of flower back on Oddworld Spectator.

Okay, let me clear this up.

Glukkons
Sligs
Mudokons
-All exist in a castle system. One queen, a few drones, the rest workers. The Glukkons, Sligs and Muds we've seen so far have all been worker class.

Vykkers
-Male personality, hermaphroditic by nature. They reproduce inside themselves.

Gabbits
Clakkerz
Outlaws
Grubbs
Steef (assuming)
-Heterosexual, meaning they need either a male or female of the same species to reproduce, like us.

Interns
-Not even sure...

Oddish 02-15-2005 03:55 PM

I think interns could be clones, I mean they all like to listen to heavy punk rock music.

Leto 02-15-2005 09:38 PM

:D Heh, good comment, Oddish. So true. Also- Cyber-slig, do not make such assumptions, for I have OWS heading its way to my house. I bought an NTSC version, and will use my newly modded xbox :P

Abes Fellow Friend 02-15-2005 10:37 PM

Then if Brewmaster wasn't a female....Ahh whatever..

Sheriff-Murder 02-15-2005 11:28 PM

cyber slig is right i meant the old games!
sry i didnt mention.

Xavier 02-16-2005 05:16 AM

well in the 3 first game there are only allusions, indeed.

Probably won't either.

Xavier 02-16-2005 05:24 AM

I have pictures of Queens... and we saw Sam's face in MO...
so they are definatly being show in the future

Alpha 02-16-2005 05:28 AM

But Sam was supposed to be a mud culture thing OWI would have ut him in preivious Abe game's and OWI are making Stranger now and probably a whole Series to go along with it.

Xavier 02-16-2005 05:34 AM

The quintology isn't dead... simply now OWI is switching to Stranger
they will come back on the quintology later

Cyber-Slig 02-16-2005 08:04 AM

Did alpha just say Sam was ''him''? I don't even wanna know how ''he'' reproduces anymore. Anyway, I believe my assumption was correct. Therefore now you will not doubt the evil mind, that is Cyber-Slig.

T-nex 02-16-2005 08:07 AM

Wheren't they also planning on making a whole different game series? citizen siege???

Nate 02-16-2005 05:50 PM

Yes, you can read about it in other threads. But that does not negate the fact that there will be females in the future quintology games.

Xavier 02-17-2005 09:44 AM

Sam is definatly a "she", she is the mudokon queen, the mudokon mother

Gretin 02-17-2005 07:18 PM

... and we saw Sam's face in MO...

Excuse my ignorance, but where was that in Munch's Oddysee? I don't remember seeing anything like that, but I have only gone through the game once so far.

Wil 02-18-2005 05:56 AM

All the game characters before Stranger's Wrath were depicted as males, that is true. A friend of mine says that, in an old interview, Lorne Lanning explains why this is, but I haven't seen it and don't remember it. However, the Mudokons, Glukkons and Sligs we've seen so far are all sexless workers, as Dipstikk points out. Vykkers are hermaphroditic. Grubbs, Clakkerz and possibly Outlaws more than likely reproduce in a more familiar heterosexual fashion.

Anything else is pure speculation. Munch's mum has been alluded to in a designer diary, but that really says nothing. Alf suggested that if Slogs did have a queen, the Glukkons would have her stashed away somewhere. Scrabs and Paramites were in their mating season in AO, which suggests they mate with one another. In particular, all the Scrabs seen in the first two games were Alpha Scrabs, but has been said about their sex.

Exactly as everybody else has said. Try doing a little research before opening a topic ;)

Yes and don't state like there never was a female at all, you should of said:

Hey everybody are there any females in the oddworld games, because I looked and all I saw was guys, am I missing something?

That way there would not of been so much controversy.
