Female Mudokon
Yeah umm.... I made this Mudokon-Female, based on the real design of them... Well, hope you like it...
|
Not bad. However, I'm thinkin' maybe you should get rid of the hair and put in another female characteristic. 'Cuz, I mean, Muds are pretty much a hairless species.
Nice drawing though, keep up the good work! |
Not really... If you look at the Female Mudokon, in the Oddworld book, you can see that she has this giant feather thing on her head. I just changed the design a bit... And well, i'm planning on drawing anothe female... :) Just wait and see...
|
Are you talking about Sam, T-Nex? Yeah, it did look like she had hair or something on her head. And nice drawing, T-Nex! :)
|
Oh, sorry, I don't have the art book. Actually, I've never even seen a female Mudoken beofre. I guess I just sketched a mental picture of what one would look like... pretty ugly lol.
I'm anticipating your next drawing. :) |
It's nice.
|
those guys are covering up the truth with a load of white wash
I'm Simon Cowell (American Idol) when it comes to art and no offence but it's not all that good. Or to be Simon even more...it is absolutely horrifying. too wide a face and too scrunched up vetically I like the one in your sig. But you didn't draw it. or did you? |
Good drawing.
I thought she had like a wrapped bag on sams head or somthing, I don't what it is. |
:
It's based on the real design of a female mudokon, but of course, i also modifies it a bit. Anyways, i made a mudokon female that was much better... Then lines weren't so thik either(which i think they are on this pic...)... But when i tried to save it, photoshop crashed... Anjd i spends so much time on it... *cries* |

Not that deformed
|
argh... it was my first try, doing a female mudokon. So if you'd excuse me, instead of flame my pics, try to give some constructive critiq(sp?):fuzemb:
Or wait, don't cuz i know what you'll say. Don't worry, the one i'm working on now, isn't deformed... |
Just keep working at it and it'll come out well. :)
|
The words wide head and scrunched up face were constructive critisism
and If you've never seen Simon Cowell in action, you've 1: not been living in America 2. better be happy I'm only saying this cause Simon says alot worse things |

Don't worry, the next female is much better, although i wouldn't call it perfect, since i'm still kinda newb'ish to photoshop... So the last thing i need, now that i seriously started to work with it, is some stupid comment, as it takes away my motivation. You could at least have come with a "You can always improve." |
I like that pic, really nice work. I don't have the artbook (but soon I will, hopefully) but when you say female mudokons look that way, then they look that way and don't have to be redesigned... Looking forward to ne next one :)
[EDIT] @Abeguy - There were no constructive criticism at all in your first post in this topic. Neither tips, nor hints... |
YAY! i'm finally done, repainting my drawing. Well, it's much better than my previous one, as the lines aren't as thick, and the head slightly less deformed :p
|
Abeguy: If you want to critique someone, be less hard-balled about it. It was shocking to see you come down on someone so hard, just because they don't draw as well as others who you've been sugaring up (ahem, the "Master of art" here can't even draw a decent circle...) Be less blunt, please.
T-Nex: Don't cry or feel ashamed when you are critiqued, be strong and use it as a means of self-improvement. Disapline...however it's spelled...is a sign that you do want to improve. And believe me, the ability to convey thoughts and feelings onto paper is a wonderful thing, so you will want to use those critiques. :) Now, what Abeguy said is true: the face is much too wide. Use pencil more and make the head an equal length. Sam's eyes sort of droop, but her skull is mainly an egg shape. You could just do a sketch and take a picture of it with a digital camera if you don't have a scanner. I'll try to get a picture of the Sam sculpt to your e-mail by this evening. Good luck with your art. :) Dammit, how did I know you were right here? All this hoobla up there is reguarding the first picture. |
I don't have a digital camera, and the scanner wont work.. So i'm kinda doomed >.<.
As for what Abeguy said, i know that he's right, but i hate the way he said it. I kinda feel insulted. I know i have to improve. Thats what i try to do all the time. About the skulp thing, do you have it in bigger format than in the oddworld-book? it would be a great help :) |
Nice new image. Big difference and improvement to the first one =) But I'm missing a more oddworldish background... This circle thingy is a little bit disturbing, imho
I'm a bit irritated about the face because of the discussion about it... Do the "real" females look more like image one or two? |
T-nex,
Your second one is much better! |
''Simon Cowell in action, you've 1: not been living in America '' Actually Simon Cowell is in a British show call Pop Idol, Jackass. And neat drawings. Looks my granny in the morning (jk) :)
|
well, i didn't know that mr. scot
and much better but I will take you idea and say that there is still room for imorovment |
OK, sorry for the jackass thing. But I'm pretty pissed right now so I'm goin' to bed. And T-Nex try to do one in pencil then scan it. Pencil is much better. Or did you already do that and colour it on your PC?
|
I think the second one is even better, T-nex! :) But there is one thing I can point out and it is what Dipstikk has said before-the head is a bit too large. Also, her ears are a bit too large-muds have TINY ears-so tiny it's sort of funny! :D Anyway, that's just some constructive criticism. It's really good overall and I love the ponytail! :)
|
Actually, in the picture she used, the ears are much pointier.
