Robots vs Humans

If you were under attack by robots, whith nuclear weapons, and the humans had not-as-powerful nuclear weapons, but they had some chance of winning, which side would you go on?

Edit:
Someone destroy this thread, because I forgot to add a poll.

Godlesswanderer 02-02-2005 01:47 AM

Even though there's no poll, I'll answer anyway.
I'd go on the side of the robots.

Reasons why:

1. Robots can't die naturally.
2. A nuke can kill humans in seconds. Even if they are not in the immediate blast radius (radiation)
3. A robot cannot be killed through radiation.
4. Chances are, robots will be way too strong for a human to even try fighting it hand to hand.
5. Robots do not have to rest or eat. So they could carry out an almost constant assault.

This thread is stupid. For a start it's terminator without the time switching and no gay heroes.

Hobo 02-02-2005 07:41 AM

This thread IS stupid. But not for those reasons.

Because I will clearly be ruling the world within the next 2 years. If my whisky-rat poison suicide plan doesn't work at least

Look If you wan't to get rid of this damn thread, you can, and incase you're blind, I said someone get rid of it.

Why wouldnt we have just as strong nuclear weapons?

Anyway, as you didn't state the intelligence of either the robots or the humans, I will assume you meant present day intelligence.
Robots wouldn't have a chance. Not only are they no where near intelligent enough for this 'attack' to be effective, but they are also decidedly weak at the present. In every sense of the word.
Robots are also an incredible minority on the planet, and most robots on the planet can only do the thing they are designed to do, be that paint new cars on an assembly line or whatever.

I'd be on the humans side.

TheRaisin 02-02-2005 02:10 PM

Good point, Esus. There are currently no killer robots to speak of in existence. There couldn't even be a war. There would have to be a powerful AI for that, which we do not have.

But even with killer robots, I'd be on the human side. 'Cause the humans always come through. Despite the ridiculously large advantage the robots have.

Lets not forget that robots would also hesitate to blow up a nuclear bomb as it would release a huge Electromagnetic Pulse, which would destroy anything electronic around. Watch the movie Broken Arrow for more information.

In fact, that's what I would do if I were human. I'd build a big-arse EMP bomb and destroy all the robots whilst not affecting any humans.

sligster 02-03-2005 02:35 PM

Humans- cause they would just deactivate all the robots with a remote control- a la Sealab.

Humans would win.

1. As the robots were made by humans, the scientists could destroy them.
2. Robots are stupid.
3. Humans have industrial sized magnets. Robots = Braindead.
4. Robots need fuel/ power to run. Who gives them this? Humans? Well then.

I'm pretty sure we'r talking advanced robots.... Ahnuld wasn't stupid. He was smarter than any human alive :p

*invisions robotic raid on a human city, pillaging fuel/ power, murdering innocents*

ya, those robo- raids could become a problem...
