Mortal Kombat
Well with the release of MK:S'lin Monks soon I thought I'd make a thread for MK. Did anyone play Mortal Kombat? Read the comics? Watch the movies?
|
I watched the movies, I liked them, and also the techno music (yeaaah ^^).
I played one Mortal Kombat game, on PC (quite old, MK4 I guess, but in 3D !). MK Monks looks very cool, with many mini-games as chess (I like that). I'm waiting for MOX's test (MOX = official xbox mag in fr), to have an objective point of view. I don't know the comics, are they interesting ? |
Mortal Kombat sucks.
It always has sucked, and it always will suck. End. |
I've seen one of the movies, played MK: Trilogy (1,2 and 3 put into one game), MK: DA
and MK: Deception. All were excellent, except the movies. They seemed to emphasize the fakeness of it. |

Oh God, MK: D was just- BAD. In a good way, if that is possible. I mean, same game, SHIT Conquest mode, and tetris and chess were a gimmick. Sure, they were fun, but stretch that to an entire game? Its like releasing Tetris 3D 2: Alpha Extreme Tournament Edition.
I have loved the MK series, except the poor, poor movies, and MK: D. You have betrayed us, MK maker people... Midway, I think, yes. MK1, MK2= Gooooood. MK3+, BAAAAD. MK Trilogy was ok, but it was only because it was basically 1, 2, and 3 (And you could play as the bosses. w00t!). :nonono: |
Honestly, it's cheesy. It's horribly fake. Ugh.
|
Well ofcourse it's fake its a fecking game you idiot.
|
I hate that a game built around fatalities doesn't tell you how to do them.
|
Yep. In situations like those you kiss your broadband box/modem for bringing you the joys of fatalities
|
:
Horrible, horrible MK: D... |

The move list always 'leaves them out'. And its only since MK4 that they had a moves list. The thing was you had to figure them out, or get a guide (cheaters! I still dont know most peoples fatalities!).
|
I've only seen one movie, and I only liked it because of the punch in the groin. Ha.
|
Mmm, definatley a highlight of such a travesty of a movie. Just play the game as Johnny Cage and continually do that move, demoralizing your opponent, especially if it is a two player game. Add the saying 'Whos your daddy?!' to the mix, and you got constant stupidity!
