Favorite Comic Book Character

Mine would be Deadpool and Domino. Domino because she's bad ass and dosn't really have a superpower, other than the luck thing, and Deadpool because... well he's Deadpool!

Picture of the two in a squabble.

SeaRex 01-30-2005 07:41 PM

He's Bear! He's Bear!
He's made of human hair!
Punch his nose and his head grows!
He's Bear, He's Bear, HE'S BEAR!!!
  1. First is Sera from "Serenity Rose." Out of all of the "spooky gothic" comics out there, "Serenity Rose" is by far the most creative; it also boasts the best art. Sera is a surprisingly interesting character considering the whole "struggling gothic artist and/or witch" thing is becoming pretty trite.
  2. Next is Alucard, from the "Hellsing" manga/anime (sorry, couldn't find a decent pic from the manga). Albeit a terrible series, it does have Alucard, who is a total badass.
  3. Next pic is Bear (see above thing) from the aptly-named random train wreck of a comic called "Bear." Funny stuff, actually. Well... most of it.
  4. Last is Devi from the "JTHM" and "I Feel Sick" series by Jhonen Vasquez. Like Sera, I enjoyed Devi's character because I found myself relating to her as an artist. (that kinda makes sense...)

EDIT: Damn I read some stupid crap.

Nate 01-30-2005 07:46 PM

Without a doubt, Max from Sam & Max. Such a hyperkinetic, lycanthropic, rabbity-thing I never have seen.

AquaticAmbi 01-30-2005 08:14 PM

Darn you, Luke, for beating me to Devi. She's had some of the best lines in a comic I've ever read. I guess I could relate to her feeling of going crazy... and the way she feels about people sometimes. Overall, I just love her personality.

And um.. there's Looshkin, the crazy cat that's always trying to kill bear. He's pretty neat.

I need to broaden my comic book readingness...

Mojo 01-31-2005 03:43 AM

Heh, Spawn for me. I mean, he has a BIIIG red cape, that actually has a life of it's own!

munchou 01-31-2005 09:30 AM

Yo, Spider-man for me ! ^^
Since I've discovered Ultimate Spider-Man, I can't drop it !

I enjoy Spawn too, I buy his comics.

T-nex 01-31-2005 11:48 AM

I think spiderman looks gay'ish :p

Anyway.. does Garfield count ? :) I love his personality, and the comics are hilarious...

Abe's son 01-31-2005 01:52 PM

Yeah... he does look pretty gay... in the bad way, not the homoerotic way... like fruit hats.

I've read JtHM and I Feel Sick.

Spawns a favorite.

Yes... I guess Garfield counts...

Never read the bear one... but I've seen lots of pictures of him...

Nate 01-31-2005 01:54 PM

No, he looks homoerotic to me. What's so ULTIMATE about him anyway?

Joe the Intern 01-31-2005 02:32 PM

NEEDLEDICK THE BUG FUCKER.

TheRaisin 01-31-2005 02:47 PM

The Maxx of The Maxx and Squee of Squee. And Filler Bunny of Squee. And perhaps Death of Death. Images to follow.

Dipstikk 02-01-2005 05:25 AM

Venom. Just having the prospect of an mui-powerful alien symbiotic suit with morbid, psychotic tendancies is enough to make me giddy and go "I WANT ONE I WANT ONE omg."

And I don't often DO that.

Leto 02-03-2005 12:36 AM

Dirk Bansai by Mukpuddy. Probably never heard of him, huh? It is the single best comic in the known universe, except for Sock Monkey.
Gagh! Stop reminding me of comics! (Off to storage to get 'em out...)

Gravity 02-03-2005 06:31 AM

My favorite charas are as follows
Marvel: Ororo "Storm" Munroe, Dark Pheonix (Pheonix: Endsong owns!)
DC: Batman, Raven
People who's publishers I can't remember:
Jonny from JTHM
Spawn
Vash the Stampede from Trigun
Alucard and Integra from Hellsing
Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky the IV from Cowboy Bebop
Ban Mido from Getbackers
.... I think that is the whole list, unless you want to get into webcomics

nads 02-03-2005 07:50 AM

MY EYES!!!!

I love squee..and pepito.
Damnit, I love everything JV makes.
Tickle me Hellmo was the best.

Fuzzle Guy 02-03-2005 09:48 AM

Spidey for me

TheRaisin 02-03-2005 01:47 PM

Heh, Tickle Me Hellmo. Gawd that was great.

Gravity, do you mean "Aurora" Munroe? Just a guess.

Gravity 02-03-2005 02:46 PM

No. Storm's name is Ororo Munroe.

Angel-FoX-crescent 02-03-2005 03:22 PM

sonic comic and gold digger ^-^

TheRaisin 02-03-2005 06:31 PM

Hah, what a horrible name. Ororo.

Gold Digger? What is this Gold Digger of which you speak?

Disgruntled Intern 02-03-2005 10:15 PM

The Maxx is amazing. Not only was the comic insanely deep and thought provoking, but Maxx himself was quite the muscle bound enigma.

Besides, he's a god damned super hero who wears a purple and yellow uniform; how you can you not love him?

Abe's son 02-04-2005 06:08 PM

PEPITO!

AI NO! YOU NECESITO PREPERATION H!

Es muy bueno.

I cannot speak spanish.

OANST 02-05-2005 07:55 AM

Dream from the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman.

Languor 02-05-2005 08:39 AM

I've never been much of a comic book reader - just not my thing I suppose.

Garfrield is awesome. Archie is pretty cool too.

Silversnow 02-05-2005 04:33 PM

Venom, Conan and Spawn are my all time favorites. It's the muscles, I think.

Nate 02-06-2005 02:42 PM

:

Garfrield is awesome.

Urge to kill... RISING!

I mean he's a cat that likes to eat. How the hell has Jim Davis managed to stretch that out for twenty five-odd years?

ITS ALL THE SAME FRIGGING JOKE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

sorry about that.
*checks into Greendale Sanitarium*

OANST 02-07-2005 03:43 PM

Garfield is pretty funny. I used to love the cartoon, too.

Abe's son 02-07-2005 03:52 PM

Oh my **** . Garfeild is the most rancid peice of shit I have EVER read...

Did you not read the post before that ONT? Are you that dense?

Nate 02-07-2005 03:56 PM

Hey, he's allowed a right of reply if he wants. Just because he has the comic taste of Prince Charles mid-coitus with Camilla (which is no laughing matter) does not negate that right.

Scrubs 02-07-2005 04:04 PM

Blade of the Immortal or Sin City( which is being turned into a movie looks sweet!!)

Sin City trailer

ohhhh its for characters not comics soo ill have to say.................the dark knight himself Batman!! frank miller style not adam west style
