Spiler Forum

I think that the spoiler forum should have the title of the thread blocked out on the Forums Index, but you can see it when you go in the spoiler forum, a bit like the employee lounge.

The Idea came to me when I saw some Stranger Spoilers, which the title gives away the spoiler anyway, and for someone who has not yet played Stranger, it isn't really fair.

Not a bad idea. Doesn't bother me that much though.

Well, i would like people to write in the topic-title if their are going to spoil anything. Both in spoiler- and General talk forums... I'm afraid of clicking any topic because i haven't got stranger yet, and i don't want it spoiled. I love surprises...

I like to know what the thread is about. But if the spoiler is really heinous, I'm sure the moderaters can edit the title of the thread so as not to include it. The spoiler forum mods have to see those things anyway, I believe.

It would be nice for this to be for the Oddworld Help forum as well, which includes lots of spoilers.

I remember trying to do this on my other forum [as we have a spoiler forum there too]. I even asked at vBulletin.com about whether it could be done, but I didn't get a response that helped.

What we do at ACF is have the spoiler forum as password protected [password is listed with the description so people can enter it if they wish]. That way if people haven't entered the password, they can't see the thread names. Generally if you entered the password, it's assumed that you don't mind seeing spoilers. Although you can always clear your cookies if you don't wish to see it again.

Hmmmm. I don't think I've really seen any titles that give away much. I don't think people are that incredibly stupid to include the direct spoiler, often they allude to it with a question for the topic title. But I don't know, are the topic titles actually spoiling the game so much?

If your game is being spoiled by looking at the titles of the threads, here's an idea:
Don't look at the titles of the threads.

What do you meen?

Anyway, yes.. There has been titles that has made me wonder if it was something from the game. I don't ever click any threads in Genreal talk and spoiler, cuz just one wrong click can ruin it for me. So i'd like people to put it in their title if they are going to spoil anything...

I believe the better way to resolve this issue is not to divert the responsibility from those that spoil in the game in their thread titles. We should make sure that members properly label thread titles to not contain direct spoilers, and supply a rating of how major a spoiler is.

With perhaps some sort of stars, or number in the title? Just thinking... I have been COMPLETELY repelled from the Spilers(:p) forums. Its so hard to resist, though. Just the *Real Spoilers* thread, the first one with the cough cough bit, put me off (no offense to the creator, but I sure as hell gagged on my lunch) the Spiler forum.
