how do I take Elboze Freely alive?

Not sure about this one...

actually, I've only been able to take a couple bosses alive.

What's the trick? is it different for every one? if so... I'd just like to know this one (Elboze), and I'll try to figure out the rest on my second run.

From the many numerous threads I've seen at many internet sites, it seems there are two fatal flaws everyone aiming to capture bosses alive are making. Firstly, do not treat Stranger's Wrath as a normal First Person Shooter. Shooting madly like you might do in Halo, is not the way to win. Secondly, bosses, like Stranger, have two status bars: Health, and Stamina. To capture a boss alive, you want to lower stamina, not health.

Try using bolamites and thudslugs
and other ammo that drains stamana

For the record Elboz Freely was the only bounty I couldn't capture alive. Another one I had trouble with was Patrack Palooka. When he comes down to fight you close up, hit him with a stunk or bolamite, then thudslug. Just keep doing this till he gets knocked out.

As for Elboz, no idea.

When capturing bosses alive always use zapflies and thudslugs. For this particular boss start by equiping that ammo and jumping up to one of the ledges. Elboze will run for the button to bring you down, jump off the ledge and shoot a charged zapfly and thudslug at his back while he's fooling with the button. He'll turn around and come after you, so jump back up to the closest ledge and repeat the process until he goes unconscience.

By the way, I've captured all the bosses alive, so I can help anybody that needs it.

I've captured all the bosses alive as well, and here's another tip...

Yes, it's true you have to lower stamina, but you can't just hit a boss real hard and then hide for a while to capture alive. Stamina on a boss gradualy regains, while health does not. Once you've hit a boss, just stay there and keep hitting until he's knocked out.

:

...jump off the ledge...

Actually, what I found was a lot easier is, rather than jumping off, hitting him with a charged zappfly, then quickly jump to the nearest platform as the one you're on slides in cos in the time it takes to jump off then launch back up his stamina goes back up.

TIP: Do NOT get off those ledges until you get a shot in (the Thudslug/Bolamite combo is a MUST, I plan on going through the game again, as I think this combo can take ANY boss alive).

Once you get on the ledge, walk towards the switches and you can see a little opening between the scaffold and the floor, shoot a Thud and then a split second later shoot a BolaMite (obvs, make sure you hit his bare back). Jump off as close to one of the jets as possible, but make it the jet DIRECTLY next to you and get to the closest ledge. The stamina might catch up a little, but as long as you stay jumping between two adjacent ledges, he doesn't stand a chance.

Also, when visiting New Yolk City, make sure you listen up and find the Black Market Dealer. You can get the highest stamina upgrades (Speed & Size) which will definitely help you out. Between shots, give yourself a quick Heal Spin and with these fabulous new upgrades (which cost just pennies a day) you will be NIGH IMMORTAL.

ETA: DUH! So much smarter to just jump to the adjacent scaffold and not get off. DOI.
