Rascally Ol' Gabbit
I've been lurking for some time but I thought you might like to see the sculpt I did of Munch. Had to make two, one for each son. Hope you like it.

Wow. Those are nice. Very artistic.
Nice job:) |
Yeah, those are really great. How long did they take you?
|
I have been replaced as one of the best artists here. THERE GOES MY CROWN!
Very nice! Post more fairly soon! |
Very cool!!
|
Holy crap! You could cast the models in plaster, then split the mould and fill it with rubber and have semi-posable munch's! Those are great! How long did they take? :p
(Now I am rambling and throthing at mouth...) |
Wow!! Those are really nice! You put a whole lot of little details into them that some people might have ignored normally while sculpting. They're excellent! :D
|
Thanks everyone. These are actually resin castings that I slapped together for the picture. There is only one sculpture, if you look carfully, the only difference between the two are the left arm and head fins. The rest is the same.
It took about 15 hours to sculpt him and maybe another 7-8 to mold and cast him. Odd chick - Actually, there is not that much detail at all. Munch, for the most part is smooth. I can't wait to get him painted. Here is a like to the actuall sculpt if you are interested. http://sculptureunderground.com/gall...umName=album07 Mike |
I can't wait to see what he looks like when you texture... I mean paint him. ;)
|
You should sell just the moulds, Pzak. I, for one, would buy at least 3. At least.
15 hours to sculpt?! Are you insane? I would take a couple of months... You must be quite the arteest. Please set up a mould selling bussiness :p Or go to OWI and offer to make Munch promotional scupltures... |
:
|
I mean, you could take the mould to some sort of plastic company to be reproduced... Or mass produced. Of course, no-one should EVER have to sell summit like that. Too sentimental.
|
Okay, doing a parasaurolophus AND Munch automatically makes you the best person in the world.
Hadrosaurs and Gabbits, two of my favorite things! |
Absolutely incredible sculptures. These are a thousand times better than the miniatures they sell for those nerdy miniature games. You know the ones. Little twenty-sided dice and spinning things on the bottom, ridiculously overpriced. Anyway.
I also like your taste. That Tremors 2 thing is awesome! |
Wow, those sculptures are great. I hope you make some more soon.
|
Absolutely incredible! How old are you?
|
Those are absolutely fantastic! And you did them yourself, crikey! Are your sons fans of Munch's Oddysee, or was it just something spontaneous? Also, I must say, your eldest son looks exactly like my younger brother :|
Alcar... |
Thanks you everyone for your kind words.
Rich - I am 37 and quite the old Geezer on this forum Raisin - Thanks. The chicken (as we now call it) from Tremors II was my first sculpt. Just for clarification first picture of the two variations are resin (Polyurethane plastic) copies of the original sculpt. I have the ability to make as many as I would like from my silicon molds. But it would be a copyright violation to sell them without OI's permission. I am trying to obtain a license, but there is a slim chance of that (Too many reasons to list). Alcar - Actually, I am a big fan of all the Oddworld Creatures. Some friends of mine did the original maquettes for Abes Oddessy. Both sons are in love with Munch and they are playing AO on the PC. Maybe someday I will grow up, but then who would my kids play with? Dipstickk - Keep up the good work. Dino's and odd creatures rule! Mike |
dagon those are nice dude
if you made more and sold them you could make some moolah |
Holy crap! Those are marvellously astonishing , well done. You copyed Munch exactly.
:
|
Dude, I can't see them
|
I can't either.
And it's making me angry how people are saying they're great. I'm getting angry. You won't like me when I'm angry. :crafty: |
The original pictures are back up. The link in my other post will not be up for quite a while.
Mike |
Sorry, No Munch model kit
Well folks,
I am sorry to say that my attempt to get a license to sell Munch as a model kit has been shot down. I will let you know if it changes in the future. Mike |
Those are amazing! They look like the real thing!
|
:
|
Too bad, I really liked them.
|
Dude, that sucks. Oh well- At least you have the only two in the world within your family's possesion. :p
|
Super Munch - That's not true! Lorne Lanning will also have a copy of both. He was very complementary on them and even offered to pay for the copies. He is a pretty cool guy.
Mike |
That was generouse of Lanning wanting your Sculptors!
