OddChat Fixed, and Chat with Alf
 

Just wanted to inform you all that OddChat has now been fixed, and just in time too! As many of you would probably know, Alf hinted in some Oddworld Forums posts that he'd pop into OddChat during Stranger's Wrath's release!

No one is in there at the moment, but then it is very early days.

Do you know when exactly Alf is going to pop in to Oddchat?

No, Alf just mentioned very loosely on the forums that he'd be in OddChat during the game's release. So anytime on the 26th of January. Although you have to remember that Oddworld Inhabitants run on a different timezone to most of us.

Good work, Alcar. I haven't tried it, yet, but good work nonetheless. Reported on OddBlog.

I just tried it and the actual applet launches fine. But it comes up with the following message:

[20:29] Connecting...
[20:29] Unable to connect : null
[20:30] Not connected

Is this a problem with the chat or is it a problem on my end?

Strange, it was working fine with me when I tried it out earlier.

My browser says that i have to download a plugin, but then it wont download becouse of something weird... I don't know what to do. IO can't download the java-plugin *cryes*
When is Alf coming online? Is he?

He usally comes to about 7pm - 10pm (in uk that is) So he should be on it right now or already left.

Alf hasn't been on yet, I've left the OddChat window open for hours, and his name is nowhere to be seen.

I can't connect, is there any reason why?

Hmmmm, that is really weird. It works perfectly for me, on both Java based and mIRC based. Is everyone clicking 'yes' when the popup confirmation box screen appears?

Sorry, didn't read previous posts due to the fact I wanted Oddchat to work quickly. :p Is it a region thing, or something- else. :D

I figured why I couldn't go on oddchat, I didn't have Java. Yes, that was my problem, so I looked throught google and found that I can download it. When I did, it worked!

So it might be because you have don't Java, try: www.java.com

And then go on download ;).

Edit: Acually I might be wrong. It might beacuse on the Internet Options had the "java" ticked off, so if it is, then you might have to tick it on. That's also what I did.

Alf works for oddworld inhabitants. So if he visits, it's special!

Alf does Fan Relations along with Public Relations. We also have a user named Alf's Assistant who is also an Oddworld Inhabitants employee, and does the same job :)
