Long Hair

Simple. Do you have long hair? Is it curly is it straight? Are you growing it? I don't know why i'm making this thread. Oh well!

paramite5 01-12-2005 09:54 AM

I have long hair, hopefully I'll get it cut tomorrow though I dont think it'll look any better or but itll be easier to take care of :D

Jacob 01-12-2005 10:01 AM

I have quite long hair. Longer than it's ever been anyway.

I've started growing it out because i'm worried that i'm going bald, and one of my friends recently said "You should start growing it long, 'cos when you do go bald, you're going to regret not experimenting with it and having the same hairstyle for your whole life."

So yes, i have began growing it long. The fringe is just past my eyebrows.

I may also dye it black shortly. Hmmmmm.

Reptile 01-12-2005 10:10 AM

My hair rests at the tip of my shoulder. It's straight 'n' silky, because I use Head 'n' shoulders.

DarkHoodness 01-12-2005 11:25 AM

Mine's been growing for about half a year. It's down to the nape of my neck. :S I've been aiming to get it cut for a while now, but no-one's prepared to take me down the hairdresser and I just haven't gotten around to it.
I need to get it cut shortly, though. Some people think I'm female, and are suprised when they hear my voice. . . :S

Can't you go on your own?

Anyway, to the topic. I'm starting to grow my hair long, I've been growing it for around a month now so it's not long at all really. My fringe is just at my eyebrows. I'm not sure how long I want it, I'm just growing it until it looks good enough to stop growing it.

Oddish 01-12-2005 11:47 AM

I'm growing it long too. It's up to my shoulders, aswell. I just hated when you wash and it becomes all thick. I grew it for year and a half, but I might cut it in 2 years time.

Hobo 01-12-2005 11:49 AM

Heh! I swear i cancelled this thread. Oh well. I've got me an afro:D

DarkHoodness 01-12-2005 12:08 PM

The local hairdressers are too damned expensive (I'm not paying a huge ammount of money for a haircut, no matter how much money I have). The one I go to is in a town called Leigh-on-Sea, which is virtaully unreachable from here using public transport.
Do nice haircuts for a cheap price, they do. :P

Mine's long and it curls, i hate being the same as everyone else tbh. I get called "goth" and all that at school, i don't see myself as a goth at all. I hate the way people think because you have long hair you're against society/ a satan worshipper and a goth :/

Oddish 01-12-2005 12:50 PM

I don't mind, once one called me a rockstar :P lol

The Shadowman 01-12-2005 12:57 PM

What is wrong with bald,
bald is beatuiful!

Jacob 01-12-2005 02:05 PM

Bald...at the age of 18...whilst being part of a group that is renowned for Perfection...is bad.

OANST 01-12-2005 02:36 PM

Iused to have long golden curly hair. I shave my head now.

AquaticAmbi 01-12-2005 06:21 PM

Mine's pretty long. It used to be down past my elbows, but I've cut it a few times to make it more manageable and stuffs. Hmm... It's like a goldeny-peanut butter blonde, but I wish it were light purple.

Wolfpac 01-12-2005 06:32 PM

Don't remind me... I need a haircut. I've been slack. It's been something like 3 months now. But it's only when it goes right into my eyes is when I actually go out and get one.

TheRaisin 01-12-2005 07:11 PM

Long. Very long. Just past my shoulders now. I would look like a hippy but for the cotton T-shirts with obscure video game jokes on them and the blue jeans.

I don't really know why I decided to grow it. I think I thought if I had it longer it would draw attention away from the chubbiness of my face. No such luck. Heh heh.

But now I kinda like it. It's different. Different is good.

oddguy 01-12-2005 08:32 PM

I used to have longer hair, but it hit me one day whilst in the shower and wringing my hair out that maybe it was a tad too long. I've since had it cut and it looks pretty good. I got rid of the long stuff in the back and sides, and trimmed the top a bit, but still left it long up there. Looks good. I'll be taking a picture...soon. Really.

Oh...and my hair is the color of dirt, otherwise known as brown.

My hair was shoulder length but I got it cut down to Noel Gallagher length, to match my monobrow. I might grow my hair till it's going in my eyes. Then dye it black and be like John Squire.

Facsimile 01-13-2005 01:50 PM

I've been growing my hair for about a year, but my mum keeps making me get it cut. So I've made an agreement, I'll keep it tidily cut, but keep the length. At the back it's just at the top of my shoulders, and it curls a bit at the ends where it's longish. But I never let my fringe grow past my eyes. I like my fringe.
Basically I've started growing it since I've been into metal, it's funny how things like that subconsciously change you.

Nate 01-13-2005 03:25 PM

My hair would look longer if it wasn't so curly. If pulled down the front reaches my lips. I used to style it so that I had a fringe and the curls would stop just above my eyes - just the thing to hide a high forehead - but I got sick of it looking rather girly so its mainly brushed back now.

Truth is, before November I hadn't had a haircut in almost a year (and before that infrequently too) because I have a history of bad cuts - noone seems to know how to cut curly hair around here. My sister was guilt-tripping me into trimming it before her wedding so I found this new hairdresser who, coincidentally enough, is the same guy she got her hair done by before the wedding.

I currently have... "normal hair"

when I cut it, it just doesn't look right...

when i let it grow out, my hair tends to go "afro" instead of down.

I like the afro...

Nate 01-13-2005 07:12 PM

I tried to get an afro once for Purim (translation: Jewish Halloween). Half a can of spray paint later I looked exactly the same as normal. There's probably a trick to it that I don't know. Although strictly speaking my hair is usually in a constant state of half-afro. I just can't seem to get the height or volume of Mr Guy Sebastian.

Get a perm. Like an old Lady.

Rex Tirano 01-14-2005 12:22 PM

My hair used to be below my waist, but it annoyed me (my mum liked it). I've had it cut and it's just below my shoulders now. It's straight (ahh the art of hair straighteners) but is naturally "Wavy" at the ends.

I'm planning on dyeing it in a few weeks.

TheRaisin 01-14-2005 08:49 PM

My hair is unusually thin, it seems, and it kind of curls up and screws up at the ends and at either side of my face and it's SO annoying. For a while, after taking a shower each morning, I combed hand soap into it so that it would become stiff and stay in place. It made it look unwashed and crappy, though, so I'm back to having it get in my face and whatnot.

But there's no way I'm cutting it now. It would draw too much attention among my classmates. I've learned that it's not so much the hairstyle you have, it's how often it changes. If you come to school with bright neon orange spikes in your hair one day it will warrant quite a few comments. After a month it'll seem perfectly normal. What it is.

Nepharski 01-14-2005 09:40 PM

My hair never elongates...it thickens. I don't go to the barber when my hair is long (which is never), I go when I can no longer successfully navigate a comb through it. Seriously, at times it's like I have a jungle eco-system growing out of my skull...minus the monkeys, of course.

My hair is dark brown, blackish when wet, in case you wanted to know (You didn't, but oh well).

Leto 01-14-2005 11:36 PM

My hair WAS very long, like down to my waist long, until my hair was cut about 2 weeks ago. SYSTEM SHOCK, I can tell you. My entire head feels like wig, and now I can't be passed as a woman, creating very funny circumstances at parties. Oh well :(

Hobo 01-14-2005 11:39 PM

I'm actually getting my broccoli trimmed to a mid-length style. It's just getting in my eyes and ears all the time!
