Under the moons -an Oddworld fan fic.-
 

This is my first Oddworld fan fiction called "Under the moons". This is a story about Fren the mudokkon. Every night he always loved to sit under and two moon that appeared at night. The moon with Abe's hand, and the moon with Munch's foot. It goes something like this.

Chapter 1-The moons

Just that night at 7:30 P.M, Fren ran to an open field to watch the two moons appear out of the misty fog. He sat in the ushual field that he always sits in. He wouldn't have to worry about the creatures of the night like Scrabs and Paramites because they were already asleep. He waited patiently for the moons to come out. So after 15 minutes, the two beautiful moon came out. He was very happy to see them shining brightly in the sky. They remided him of his two hheros Abe and Munch. He wanted to be just like them one day, but that wasn't the reason why he loves the moons. The reason why was because it was an important symbol for him. He really couldn't remember. He really didn't have a purpose of watching the moons. After about an hour he went back to the mudokkon village to get a good night sleep. He lived alone mainly. He didn't want his wife to have him to out and watch the moons everynight. His house was a small hut just like all the other houses. Exept in his house, he had a drawing area. Yes, Fren loved to draw. Especialy the two moons. He would not have color in his drawings because he mainly had a bad taste with color. He painted pictures of mudokkons, buildings and other parts of Oddworld. Yet he didn't want to be an artist. He wanted to be a hero just like Abe and Munch. He wanted to be a well know hero in Oddworld instead of an ignored person. If he were to be a hero, his life would be better. He tried to be a hero by fighting the creatures, but all he did was end up having cuts and scrapes on his green skin. Someday he would come out a hero. Someday. Someday. Sometimes he was just a normal person. He went to Alph's Rehab and Tea everyday because he really didn't have alot of food now that Rupturefarms was shut down sometime ago. That was when he had a hero. Abe the mudokkon. Then later on he had another hero. Munch the gabbit. Abe and Munch were an odd couple, but hey, this is Oddworld. So Fren went to sleep and then kept on dreaming of the moons, being a hero, and his rolemodels Abe and Munch.

Hey, that's not too bad. I wanted to be a hero, but I can't find my cape.

Chapter 2-The Mazuru test

Fren woke up at 7:00 A.M to get the earlybird deal at Alf's Rehab and Tea. Two teas for an odd-buck. He always walked down there and whistled a tune everyday. When he came in he would always say with glee, "Hello everybody!" The people in there just ignored him. That day Alf said, "Fren, I need to see you alone." "Fine." Replied Fren. So he went with Alf to a secret spot where nobody could hear them. "Look here, Fren." Alf said. "You've always been coming here and being so happy." "Your point?" Asked Fren. "What is up with you?" Replied Alf. "You see, Abe and Munch are mainly my rolemodels, and I want to be just like them. I want to become a hero." Replied Fren. Alf laughed very hard and Fren looked angry. "Listen." Said Alf. "You would never become a hero in 30 years." "Isn't there any way I can become a hero?" Asked Fren. "Well, there is one way." Replied Alf. "Tell me." Ordered Fren. "Okay, it's your funeral." Replied Alf. "It's called The Mazuru test. First, you must go see the one called Big Face. Second, you must tell him you wanna take The Mazuru test. Finally, he'll give you the intructions to the test." "How do I find this one called Big Face?" Asked Fren. "How in the world should I know? Travel around Oddworld untill you find him." Replied Alf. "I will take that test." Said Fren to himself. "Go ahead then. Good luck, you'll need it." replied Alf. So fren got out of the private spot and then got himself some tea to go and headed on out. He went back to his house and got himself prepared. "I need some traveling gear." Said Fren. So he packed up whatever was good for travel and put it it a bag. It had food, water, lucky stones, and more. Now he was ready to start his quest. He walked off into the unknown and started his jorurney. He was going to make his rolemodels pround.

Wow! That was a fast update! Anyway, it was a good chapter. I wonder how Fren will hold up when he takes this 'test'.

Chapter 3-The jorney

Fren just sarted his quest to find the one called Big Face. He sounded spiritual, so Fren looked in the forest. He met up with a few scrabs, but no Big Face. He looked in same anchent temples. Met up with a few sligs by it, but no Big Face. He went by the river. He saw alot of Paramites, but no Big Face. Where in the world could he be? So Fren realized that he no more need to start small. He need to go big and travel the world, not just near his town. So he went off around the world. He searched forests, temples, and anything spiritual. Still, no Big Face was to be found. Fren stopped and thought. How did Abe shut down Rupturefarms. By using Big Face! Of course! He needed to head to the old, shut down Rupturefarms, and look for him! He sarted off with a big run, but halfway got to halfway to the old, shut down Rupturefarms. He took a rest because soon the moons will come out. He knew it wouldn't be the perfect spot to see them, but it would have to do. He set down his bag and layed on the ground. The moons had come out. They were of course his greatest symbols. He watched them for a while them dozed off and went to sleep. The next day he continued on with the journey and just barely made in to the old, shut down Rupturefarms. There was not an enemy in sight and the whole pace was locked. All of a sudden, a beam of light was shining in front of the building. Fren got a better view. It was Big Face! He ran as fast as he could to the beam of light. When he arrived, he saw Big Face nice and clearly.

Are there going to be any more, I think there great! :D

Chapter 4-Big Face

Fren walked up to Big Face. "Who are you?" Asked Big face. "Fren, master." Fren replied. "What is it you what?" Asked Big Face. "I need to take this Mazuru test." Replied Fren. "Very well. Here is what you must do." Big Face said. "First, you must search every temple until you find an idol of a mudokkon. After that, you must use the idol of open a big wooden gate to the Hashwood forest. Then, you must walk untill you find a passage to the slig forest. Next, you shall take a crawling slig. Afterword, come back here and return it to me. Finally, I'll give you the instructions to the next part of the test." "How will me gving you a slig help me become a hero?" Asked Fren. "Hush, it's a secret. I shall tell you why when you give me a slig." Replied Big Face. "Whatever you say." Said Fren. All of a sudden, Fren and Big Face felt the ground shake. "No. No. This can't be." Said Big Face. "What's happening?" Asked Fren. "That shaking can only mean one thing." Replied Big Face. "Rupturefarms is running up again." "Good grief." Said Fren. Smoke started to come out of the towers. Announcements started to come on. "Attention all sligs and mudokkons!" A voice said. "Rupturefarms is now back in buisness!" Sligs all over started to beat up mudokkons and take them to Rupturefarms to work. Some sligs came rushing in Rupturefarms. This wasn't good. This was horrible.

Hmm...so Rupturefarms is back in business, eh? It looks like the place is going to need shutting down again! ;) Anyway, great story! :) Keep it up, sliguy 101!

Chapter 5-The rebirth of Rupturefarms

Sligs all over Oddworld were capturing mudokkons 24/7. Fren was in hidding. When the coast was clear Fren had gone in. The place was even better than before, and scarier. Sligs surrounded the whole place. Scrabs and Paramites were trapped in cages. The whole place was run on electricity. All the sligs and mudokkons gathered around for a meeting. I bet you could just guess who was up front. That's right, it was Molluk the glukkon. Molluk began to give his speech. "Okay." He started off. "First of all, I hardly remember a gosh darn thing. Second of all, I need some new workers for this place." "Sir, this is Rupturefarms. The biggest meat-packing facility in the world. Your the boss of it. All these mudokkons we've captured are here to work for you." Replied a slig. "Thanks much for freshening up my memory. You're vice president." Said Molluk. "I'll go show you where you and I shall work." Replied the slig. "Oh and by the way, my name is Guret." "Show me the way, Guret." Ordered Molluck. "As for the rest of you, sligs get to guarding this place. Mudokkons, get to work." The sligs and mudokkons did just as he said. Guret show Molluk the way to his office. Fren didn't wanna get noticed to he just worked there. His job was a wall waxer, his old job when he was at Rupturefarms. Wall waxing brought so many horrific memories for him. Scrapping all the blood off the wall was sickening for him. The rest of the job was easy. All of a sudden, he saw Abe come near him. "Hello." Abe said. Fren was in shock to see his hero ever since he shut down this place a while ago.

I just knew that Molluck would be back, but I wasn't expecting Abe to be in this chapter! Anyway, I want to see what happens next. You've got to continue this story! :)

Chapter 6-Abe and Munch

"Abe!" Fren exclaimed. "Shh, quiet. I can't be noticed." Replied Abe. "are you going to shut this place down?" Asked Fren. "Yeah, but right now I cna't find Munch." Replied Abe. "I can help you find him." Suggested Fren. "What's the catch?" Asked Abe. "I get to help you and Munch shut down Rupturefarms." Replied Fren. "What! That's crazy!" Exclaimed Abe. Then Abe sighed. "Fine. Just watch out for the guards." "Done." Replied Fren. He then sneakly went off. After a few minutes Fren found some sligs carrying Munch. "Now get back to work." Said a slig. The sligs threw him into the air. Then Munch landed face-down onto the hard, steel ground. "Are you okay?" Asked Fren. "Yes, just fine." Replied Munch. "Hey, are you looking for Abe?" Asked Fren. Munch nodded. "Follow me." Ordered Fren. Munch did as he said. As Fren walked Munch followed by hopping on his one foot. Hop, hop, hop. Fren and Munch had reached Abe. "I found Munch, Abe." Said Fren. "Alright then." Replied Abe. "What's goin' on here?" Asked Munch. "Oh, Munch." Replied Abe. "This is Fren. You, me, and him are going to shut down Rupturefarms." "First we at least need a plan." Said Fren. "Just follow me." Replied Abe. "Why should we?" Asked Munch. "I tell you." Repleid Abe. "I know this place better than anyone here. Besides, I was employee of the year once. Now come on." Abe ran off. Fren and Munch followed him. All of a sudden, sligs surrounded them. "Freeze!" They all yelled.

Ooh, it's getting intense! I can't wait to see the next part! Good story, sliguy! :)

Chapter 7-Molluk the glukkon

"Outta the way, boys. I'll handle this." Said Molluk the glukkon as he walked towards the sligs. The sligs got out of the way and did as he said. "Abe. This brings back so many memories." Said Molluk. "You're not goanna lower me into that meat cutter, are you?" Asked Abe. "No. I'll just put you in prison and have sligs beat you down every hour." Replied Molluk. "Sir, wouldn't it be better to chop Abe up?" Asked a slig. "Silence! I'm the boss and what I say goes!" Replied Molluk with rage. "I can also see you've made some friends." "I know, I'm awfully popular." Replied Abe. "Well now you'll be popular for your disgrace of glukkons." Said Molluk. "Should we take him away, boss?" Asked Guret. "With pleasure." Replied Molluk. So some sligs grabbed Abe and took him away. "As for the two of you, you better not try anything smart. I've got my eye on you two." Said Molluk. All the sligs walked away and Molluk went back to his office. "That's it, we're doomed." Said Fren. "We can't just leave Abe." Replied Munch. "The sligs and Molluk have got their marks all over this place." Said Fren. "No." Said Munch. "This place was just as guarded as before and Abe shut it down once." "I suppose your right Munch, but now that Abe is gone, how will we ever shut this place down again?" Asked Fren. "We must shut this place down by blowing it up, but first we must free the mudokkons, creatures, and of course, Abe." Replied Munch. "The let's get these mudokkons outta here. To the shadows." Said Fren.

That was the best chapter so far! :) And Molluck seems so calm and collected, with the exception of a few angry moments, in this chapter. I'd say you have his personality downpat! Keep those chappies comin' sliguy!

Chapter 8-Sneaky in the shadows

Fren and Munch ran quickly to a shadow where they couldn't be noticed. Everytime there wasn't a slig in sight, they ran to the next shadow. When they got near the office, they saw what was going on from the top window. They overheard the conversation. "So." Said Gret. "So what?" Asked Molluk. "Aren't we goanna continue the process with the Mudokkon Pops?" Replied Gret. "No mudokkon pops. If we turn our workers into food, we won't have anyone to work for us." Replied Molluk. "Well sir, what about sligs?" Asked Gret. "Mudokkons are much better workers. Sligs are assigned to guard the place." Replied Molluk. "Maybe it's time we hire some glukkons for our new Magog Cartel." Suggested Gret. "Good idea. Call up some glukkons to see if they're interested." Ordered Molluk. Gret did as he said. "This place will live forever. After all, who can free 9,000 mudokkons?" Said Molluk. Fren and Munch were shocked. "I can't believe we have to free 9,000 mudokkons." Said Fren. "Then start believing." Replied Munch. They went on into the shadows. After a while it got pitched black. "Great. We're lost." Said Munch. "Hold up. I feel with my big mudokkon hand, a doorknob!" Exclaimed Fren. "Twist it and open the door." Ordered Munch. So Fren opened the door. They founda completely big empty room with a giant bird portal in it. "Wow. Let's free the 9,000 mudokkons here." Said Munch. "I think this is a sign that Big Face is watching us." Replied Fren. They closed the door and headed for the prison to free Abe.

Woah. 99 mudokons was a lot at first, but 9,000?!! Wow! Anyway, good chappie, sliguy! :)

Chapter 9-An escape

Fren and Munch knew what they had to do, but first they had to free Abe. Once again they went into the deep shadows and made it to the prison. Some sligs were already beating up Abe. They were gone in a few minutes. "Abe. It's us." Whispered Fren. "Come over here." Replied Abe. Fren and Munch did as they said. "The keys should be hanging on that nail behind you." Said Abe. Fren and Munch turned around and saw the keys. Fren grabbed them and got Abe free. "We've got 59 minutes until the sligs get back." Said Abe. "How are we goanna free 9,000 mudokkons in 59 minutes?" Asked Munch. Abe's mouth hung down. "Are you crazy? How is right." Said Abe. "Then we must find Big Face so that he can help us." Replied Fren. "We better hurry up finding him before the sligs come back." Said Abe. The 3 got back into the shadows and made their escape. They found an exit. "This way." Said Munch. They opened the door and found a connecting bridge to another building. It was unguarded. "This doesen't look like an exit." Said Fren. "Keep going foward." Ordered Munch. "Proceed with caution." The other 2 did as he said. They opened the door to find an elevator. They went in and pushed the down button. Apperently, the elevator went down too far. When it stopped, they opened a door. They saw the underground of Rupturefarms.

Ooh, a creepy basement!! O_o I love this story!! It gets more interesting as it goes along. Great chapter, sliguy! :)

Chapter 10-The underground of Rupturefarms

"I have a bad feeling about this." Said Munch trembeling. "Don't worry. It's just a dull basement." Replied Fren. "Let's just get outta here." "Erm, guys. The elevator is busted." Said Abe. "Okay. Now is the time to start panicing." Replied Fren. "Relax. Let's just go straight." Ordered Abe. So they went straight ahead. The deeper they went into the underground, the darker it got. After a while, it got pitched black. "Now what?" Asked Munch. "Look. A light." Replied Abe. They all followed it until they could see it clearly. It was the wierdos. "Oh, it's just you guys." Said Abe. "Abe! It's you!" Exclaimed the wierdo without an arm. "Who exacly are these guys?" Asked Fren. "Just some spirits from my mind." Replied Abe. "Those spirits must have told you to take a few of your friends to go find Necrum Mines when you had that fall after you saved 99 mudokkons." Said Fren. Abe nodded. "Do you need any help?" Asked the fully assembled wierdo. "Yeah, we need to shut down Rupturefarms once again." Replied Fren. "I can see your friends want to shut this place, too." Said the wierdo without legs. "This place bought back so many horrible memories. When this place went back into buisness, we were teleported here just like last time." "We'll probably need to explode this place." Said Munch. "Bob the mudokkon was quite the dynamite. Maybe you should go ask him if he has enough dynamite to shut this place down." Said the wierdo without an arm. "Good idea, but first we need to get outta here." Said Abe. "No problem." Said the wierdos. The used their magical power to teleport them back to the surface. "C'mon, let's go find Bob the mudokkon." Ordered Fren. They left the boundaries of Rupturefarms.

That was a nice chapter. Perhaps the best one yet!! I kinda found this part a bit amusing:

I don't know why, but I just found that kinda funny! Anyway, please continue on with the story! (why am I the only one leaving comments on here?)

Chapter 11-The journey starts

Fren, Abe, and Munch are starting their journey to frist find Bob the mudokkon. He was always an expert with dynamite. Before they could blow up the place, they would have to free all 9,000 mudokkons. So for now, they would keep the explosives somewhere safe. When sunset came, our heros were getting a bit tired. "We musn't rest now." Said Fren. "Fine, I still have a little bit of energy in me to go a few more miles." Said Abe. They kept moving along. When it got dark, they were wrecked. "If we rest, the sligs will easily find us." Said Fren. "Then we must set up camp somewhere where we can't be seen." Replied Abe. "There's a cave." Pointed out Munch. They went deep inside the cave. There was not a soul in there. "We should make a disguise on top of this cave." Suggested Abe. "I'll bring some wood to make a door. Abe, you put some big leafs over the cave. Munch, you just relax." Replied Fren. Abe and Fren went out of the cave and made the disguise just as Fren planned. With some big leafs, the stone on top of the cave could not be seen. With some big tree bark and some tools that Fren brought, they were able to make a door. When they all went to bed, Fren woke up at 1:30 A.M and opened the door. Abe heard him so he followed Fren. Fren stood near the two moons gleaming in the dark sky. "What are you doing?" Asked Abe. "Watching the moons." Replied Fren. "Why?" Asked Abe. "I have no idea. It's mainly just a symbol of you two. My heros." Replied Fren. "Just come back to bed as soon as possible." Said Abe. He went back to the cave and shut the door. Fren watched them for only 15 minutes and went back to bed.

Chapter 12-The journey continues

They all woke up at 7:45 A.M to de-construct camp and to move on with their journey. They had no time to eat, so they just quickly de-constructed camp and went on their way. After a few minutes they met up with three papers on the ground. They all picked up one. Each one was a wanted poster with all three of their pictures of them. It offered an reward on one lifetime supply of moolah. They had to be alive when captured. "This is bad." Said Munch. "If anyone spots us they could just capture us." Said Fren. "We'll just have to get our own explosives or either steal some." Said Abe. "I go with stealing." Replied Fren. "Fren is right. Where are we goanna find our own, anyways?" Asked Munch. "Fine, we'll steal." Said Abe. So they got behind Bob's explosive shop, and found some explosives in the back of his shop. The door was locked. "I have an idea. Follow my leauge." Ordered Fren. They all walked into the shop. "Bob! Bad news!" Exclaimed Fren. "What is it?" Asked Bob. "Some crooks just took off with your explosives!" Replied Fren. Bob took out his gun and ran out the door. "I'll get the keys." Said Fren. So he quickly took the keys, ran out of the shop, and opened the door to the backyard. "You get the small ones. As many as you can." Said Fren. They quickly got the explosives and alos ran off with the keys. Abe, Fren, and Munch ran back to the cave and re-constructed camp. "Tommorrow, we shall go back to Rupturefarms and then blow up all the guards. After that, we shall get all 9,000 mudokkons into that room me and Munch found, free the mudokkons, and get the biggest explosion Bob has. After all the guards are blown up and all the mudokkons are free, we shall set the explosion in the heart of Rupturefarms, get outta Rupturefarms, and we'll watch the fireworks." Planned Fren. "Got it." Said Abe and Munch.

That was good, sliguy. But to be honest, I don't know if Abe and Munch would go for stealing from another mudokon. Now maybe if it was a vykker or a glukkon, then most definitely!! :D Anyway, it was still, nonetheless, a good chapter! I can't wait to see what happens next! :)

Chapter 13-Off to Rupturefarms, again

They woke up that morning, de-constructed camp, and went off with the explosives. They met up with a few scrabs and paramites here and then, but didn't use their explosives to defeat them. All they did was run away. They had to solve a few puzzles in temples, too. The puzzles wern't all that diffucult anyways. Don't forget navigating themselfs through forests. They wern't an ace at that. Anyways, they were skipping along happily because they would just think how good it would feel to blow up all of the sligs and glukkons in the factory, but the better feeling was they were going to be super-happy when they released all 9,000 mudokkons and blow Rupturefarms to bits. It seems when they were almost to rupturefarms they stumbled down a mountain, and landed into the stockyards. It was just the same as last time. Packed with slogs, motion bombs, other bombs, security lasers, and electrical fences. On the other side, they were hopping to see a brid portal just for them that could bring them back. so there they went, running with small explosives, stopping at security lasers, puzzled through motion bombs, ran fast to avoid slogs, and made it to the end without a scratch on them. Luckly there was a bird portal waiting for them. "Big Face yet watches over us again." Said Fren. "Okay guys, here's the plan." Said Abe. "When we get into Rupturefarms, there are 5 plans. Plan 1, blow up all of the sligs and glukkons here. If we run out of explosives, we'll have to find a boom machine or either I'll have to posses a slig. Plan 2, we free all of the mudokkons here. If there is an empty room with a giant bird portal, we're in luck." "We found one." Replied Munch. "Good." Said Abe. "Plan 3, there is a self distruct lever that I found out about, but we'll have to go through 5 zulags just to find it. Plan 4, run like the wind and get outta here. Plan 5, we watch the fireworks." "Sounds hard, think we can do this?" Asked Fren. "We'll try our best." Replied Abe. Abe chanted and they all ran through the portal.

Wow! That was a cool chapter, sliguy! And that sounds like a HUGE plan that Abe's got in store! ;) What I don't understand is that in AE and MO, Soulstorm Brewery and Vykkers Labs were blown up, but I don't remember Rupturefarms being blown up in AO-I think it was just shut down, right? Hmmm.... Well, it is cool that you decided to write this story that deals with Rupturefarms again and this time, blowing it up! :) Anyway, you have to continue the story-it seems that the rising action and climax are coming up really soon! :)

Chapter 14-Sligs go BOOM

They all snuck off to hide in the shadows and throw the explosives. They hid in the nearest shadow and threw a bomb at a slig. "What the?" Said the slig, but before he could finish he was blown to bits. Fren, Abe, and Munch chuckled silently and waited for another slig. They threw another bomb and coast is clear." Said Abe. "Let's sneak into the employe lounges." So they went onto the employe lounges. They stopped at the first one. They opened the door silently. There were 6 sligs playing some card game. They threw a bomb in there, closed the door, ran to the next employe lounge and the slig was blown to bits. "This is quite fun." Whispered Fren. "I think the then opened the door. There were 15 sligs having a meeting. They threw the bomb, closed the door, ran to the next employe loung, and opened the door. There were 4 sligs drinking tea. They did as ushual, closed the door, ran to the last employe lounge, and opened the door. They saw 30 sligs partying. They did as ushual, closed the door, and ran to the shadows. They all watched the big explosions that had the doors flying all over the place. "We're out of bombs." Said Munch. Abe looked over a ledge to find a slig. "I'll posses that slig." Replied Abe. Abe started to chant. The sligs started to run around screaming, "Help! Help! Help!" The slig was possesed. The possesed sligs started to run around shooting all the sligs. It took quite some time, but all the sligs in the factory were killed except for Guret who was in Molluk's office. "Let's go wipeout the Magog Cartel." Said Fren. They snuck off.
