Mongo River on the Mudos Map

This sounds logical in my mind but I don't know how well I'll be able to communicate it. Here goes...

Stranger is travelling up the Mongo River. This is the river that the Gabbits breed in. It is logical to assume that this is also the river that they live in. Lorne had said in interviews that they are a river/lake species rather than an ocean one.

So I looked at the Mudos map (which can be found at http://www.oddworld.com/alf/alfictio...assets/map.jpg) and the map of Mongo river from the EA site (http://www.eagames.com/official/oddw...mongoriver.jsp) and I noticed that the wiggle in the river and the lake at the top looked a little like this bit on the Mudos map

(note due to some weird compression jpeg thing you can't see the river so well in this image. Check out the original to see it sharper)

So either a) its a coincidence or b) they based one of the maps on the other.

What do you think?

If I recall, doesn't Stranger's Wrath occur in Western Mudos? Or is that where Stranger resides?

I don't think we will see the Mongo river somewhere on that map...
and yeah the game is taking place in Western Mudos.
