GameSpy Designer Diary, Preview, and Advertisement
Credit goes to Oddworld Universe.
GameSpy have been busy boys today, with some spiffy Stranger's Wrath updates. Firstly, they've got Gautam Babbar to write a Designer Diary, and have kindly made it available at: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/oddworld-4/577488p1.html They have also written a preview on the game, which can be found at: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/oddworld-4/577536p1.html As you'll notice while browsing the two articles, there is an Oddworld Stranger's Wrath advertisement being displayed! I'll attach just a snapshot of it here, in case in the future, it is removed (most likely). Alcar... |
Cool. I always love reading about the process of designing levels. That mine cart one looks pretty cool.

Just in case anyone cares, I didn't really want to create a seperate thread for something so small, but GMR have put up a history of Oddworld special in their February 2005 magazine.

Great finds, Alcar. I had already reported Gautam Babbar's developer diary on OddBlog, but the rest can go to you. It's dawning on me that GameSpy is actually some kind of gaming tabloid, employing popular trends such as calling OWI ‘OI’ and using the hideous term “different than”. But oh well.

awesome finds Alcar...
that little retrospective feature in the transcript is very nice :D |
Good find Alcar.
Like that ad. |

And what's wrong with “different than?” |
‘Than’ is used after a comparative adjective, e.g. sweeter than. The phrase these people are looking for is ‘different from‘ or even ‘different to’. There's no such thing as ‘different than.’
And I see your point about OI being more obvious, but you just need to take one look at the OWI logo to see that it's dominated by the W to make it spectacularly obvious. |
