New Year to Midnight
 

Well, if you stayed up till midnight for new year, what did you do to prevent you from falling asleep. Every night I can easily stay up till midnight but when it comes to new year I'm nearlly asleep. To keep me awake, I watched School of Rock with my Dad and my brother, and then I watched Steven Spielbergs first film 'Duel ' with my Dad,
what did you do till midnight?

I watched the semi-legal fireworks at a beach at nine o'clock. We ate fish and chips, and ran the span of the beach for fun (all the while making sure not to step on syringes ;)). Then I crashed at a mates house, where we watched a movie until about eleven. We snuck out to watch a bit of the telly (an ABBA special was on, and I love ABBA), until he was feeling so tired that we decided it was JUST another new years eve, and that sleeping early wouldn't matter. He managed to fall asleep before the midnight fireworks and countdown, and admittedly, I was too tired to stay awake myself.

But alas, I had developed a cold, my throat was as rough as sandpaper, and their cat and dogs decided to snuggle with me as I was trying to get to sleep (I think sharing body warmth is all I'm good for). Thus, I was awake until four o'clock in the morning. And all the while, my mate is sleeping very soundly right next to me, seemingly unaware of my pain :p

But I had fun, none the less. Their kitten is so cute too, and their dogs. I couldn't help cuddling them.

*sigh* I miss my cat, and its soothing purring...

As it's the holidays I've been staying up to midnight anyway. My parents always go out to the Pub (stereotypical Brit stuff) on a Friday and come back at about 10:30 with A Chinese Takeaway (A fine part of British cuisine :p). So I was still up at 11:00.
I played on San Andreas for a bit then watched the countdown, BBC live from Westminster thing.

Then I came on the Forums and said "Happy New Year" and then I went to Bed and then I got up and then...

Well I drunk myself stupid till three this morning. I can remember hardly anything, and I'm quite surprised that I havn't got a hangover.

I touched no alcohol. Not a drop. Not even a glass of champagne. Abstinance!

Played Halo 2. Being with friends will keep you up, trust me.

Wow, I bet you had fun. Unless you do that all the time anyway.

Being with friends DOES keep you up. I know, cuz we spent the whole night dancing on James Browns Sexmachine, and I Feel Good! And we watched some stand up comedy. That's also fun!

I stayed up talking to mates, it was nice :)

I was with friends, also freaked them out when I pushed the sofa over at 12:00

I couldn't go anywhere because of my surgery... My cheeks look like a cross between The Godfather and a chipmunk. But I managed to stay up until 12:30 or so because I had been sleeping all day. I just talked to friends all night and stuff... I finally went to sleep when one friend wouldn't stop asking me to save some of my pain medicine for him. :rolleyes:

I went to bed, at half eleven, I was to tired to stay up till tomorrow.

I went to bed at 11 but I couldn't sleep. I woke up about 12 when the fireworks went off so I watched them on TV. Then I went to bed. Then I fell out. Ok I'll stop now.

Well After I ate, I just chatted to my friend, it was his birthday too. I went to bed at 3 am , then woke up at 2 pm.:p

I went to a movie around 10:15 last night and when I came out I realized that it was already the new year! I really didn't care much about it, though -I have no idea why it didn't really matter to me, but it didn't!!

Yeah...I played some Halo 2 on Live with my brother for a while. Then had some sparkling cider and turned the tv on 30 seconds before new year and watched the ball desend.

Are you playing up the role? Eating spaghetti? Making people offers they can't refuse?

I stayed up by being out at our towns street party (God, how many New Years threads do we have?), and rocking hard to AC/DC and other party favourites (It could be a really cheap, childrens cassette).

Went to a friends, and laughed for six hours at a whoopie cushion. True story. Don't ask... :confused:

I really hope that whoopee cushion had an insanely funny joke written on it...

I didn't really do anything to stay up late... I do it all the time, and have gotten used to it...

it's strange, really. I can go to sleep at 4:00am, wake up three hours later, and be completely revitalized...

Staying up is no problem with my Pikachu Alarm Clock! I put the speaker up to my ear and set it off! DA DA! GOOD MORNING! DA DA!DADADADADADADADOODOO DOO DEEDEE DEEDOODA! I couldn't sleep the rest of the night!
What of the alarm clock, you ask? Well, ... let's just say... there is no longer a Pikachu Alarm Clock....*Puts down chainsaw*
