Wooo! The four snow screens are brilliant, even if they aren't real time! I wonder if that clakker is important, or if he's just a random outlaw victim. Great find!
|
in the second ScreenShots, you can definately see the things that are hanging near the rivers are Grubbs skeletons
I love that detail :D |
Great find De Coster! The images are soooo good, I love 'em.
Is the 5th one CG or realtime? Anyway, the're ace. |
well with Stranger's Wrath it's qui tricky to know if a screen is gameplay or CG, because they mix both. But it realy looks like CG to me.
and why do you call me by my familly name? |
:
It looks like that the dam broke, and the'res another one behind it. |
I think we may possibly be viewing the end movie here. Obviously those sreens are in the wrong order, as it looks as though the dam crumbles and then collapses, which seems like a fitting end. Though those grubbs look anything but jubilant - who knows.
Awesome cg. |
I'm not exactly up on Video Game PR etiquette, but doesn't the release of the game ending screens seem...Ill-advised? I'd prefer to think of them as a halfway point. Especially with the grubbs looking on so disparingly.
Also, I prefer the snow shots to the western, but it may just be because we've been inundated with dusty, gritty, orange shots ever since the name steef whispered out of OI. The Game and CG look fantastic. Not to mention the sweet armor. I'm digging the high collar something fierce. Edit: Those are interesting weapons they're holding. They look good for disembowelment. Fitting, I suppose, for a culture based on fishing. Oh, and Xavier, could you explain what you mean about mixing in-game and CG? Feel free to PM if this has been covered before. |
Volsung, Stranger's Wrath is the first Oddworld game to feature cut-scenes done in real-time. This means that not all of the movies will be the beautiful rendered cinematiques we know Oddworld can make. However, we have seen that some cut-scenes feature rendered characters in a real-time environment. It's basically a time-saving feature for the developers.

God this game is B-E-A-U-TIFUL!
I may be pointing out the obvious, but in the 3rd 'Real Spoiler' screenshot, the little freak guys look like they are chanting, perhaps breaking the wall/dam? God this game is beautiful... *Cries* So beautiful... |
wow... so much detail... I mean, look at this one!
http://www.eagames.dk/images/screens...X_Screen02.jpg you can see his lips cracking from the cold! |
These images are wonderful!
I really love the "Real Spoilers" images. I always seem to love snowy areas in games, and it looks like this will be no different. Alcar... |
The graphics are amazing, i was quite disappointed with the other screenshots i've seen. Looks like they've been compressing the images pretty badly in all the other cases, these look the dogs :D
|
well like in some games the little movies in the game they might make it look like way better. But in real game it kinnda looks crappy. but this game both look good
|
What is this?
http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...tid=2673&stc=1 Is it some sort of lamp? If so what are the bits that look like wings? |
That looks like a thudslug. I don't know what the glowing ball is, and in the videos they didn't seem to be carrying anything, so I can only guess its maybe getting shot by stranger or that its an optical illusion and something glowing in the background appears to be in between its claws. Or it could just be a thudslug carrying something. That would certainly be taking the artificial life to a new level.
|
It's live ammo, I'm 95% sure of it... probably a vareity of Thudslugs
|
Possibly its just a thudslug that happens to be floating above a light source. The other lights don't look like they've got wings (though they are further away from the camera so maybe they're not visible).
What do you think the lights are? They can't be lamps floating in the middle of the forest, can they? |
Yay, warrior newts. *love*
*recalls* See, all ye of little faith when I predicted years ago there were newts on Oddworld... ;) *would like to see more of the ones in the front of the book, they look kickass* *nods* |
:
I think that's aint A Thudslug. Thudslugs are round and purple, and I think those lights are just lights hanged on the trees, or fireflys. |
But they do have little white wings to fly around with before they are captured.
|
Aye, Thudslugs are unfurled when in flight and are more beetle-shaped.
|
ooh, those chicken dudes again, uhh, what are they called?
Nice Pics Xav! |
They're Hickens. Erm, no, sorry, they're Clakkerz.
|
There is actually another dam that you have to get to before getting to Sekto Springs dam, so maybe those shots are taken from that dam being destroyed.
|
It could be the Lower Dam, yes. It doesn't actually look all that impressive for the final obstacle in the game.
|
so, are the clakkerz or hickens? i want an official name
|
They're called "Clakkerz." We just used to call them Hickens when we didn't have a real name for them yet.
|
Cool pictures! Good work Xavier!
|
Great Snooping Xavier! The beauty of the game is touching my soul :D
