German MAN!AC Magazine Exclusive, and Cards!

German gaming magazine, MAN!AC (http://www.maniac.de) will include an exclusive Oddworld Stranger's Wrath article. It will also come equipped with a 136 minute video of gameplay in the game. It will also come with 16 Stranger themed cards, but not the same ones given out at GDC.

I am unsure of the month this magazine belongs to, but it looks as if it is February 2005.

You'll also notice that in the November 2004 issue of MAN!AC, there was a preview of Oddworld Stranger's Wrath.

Great find Alcar! I see that the press like's Stranger Wrath very much, with the cards and all. It's a good sign. Someone who lives Germany get it

I'm glad someone can read German, 136 minutes of watching someone else play...that's a long time. And those cards look excellent. Do we know if its a review, then? If its published in February it seems like it would have to be.

I think the cards were the magazines idea. They look rather simple to make, just slap on a few Stranger 's Wrath images, but the concept is good.

And no, I can't read German :p The translator did very little, so I had to somewhat guess at it.

OWI have released lots of covers, isn't it going to beat the number of MO's covers?

I don't know. Munch's Oddysee was in development (properly) from the release of Abe's Exoddus (November 1998) to its release in November 2001. And with Oddworld Inhabitants very eager to show off what they were doing, many magazines have Munch's Oddysee features.

However, Stranger's Wrath has been under wraps for the better part of its development, so no magazines could publish anything substantial.

I haven't got this magazine yet. Look at the date, it's for 2005. Wow, and it's cheap... only 4,99 €! I'll buy it and tell you how fantastic it it.... Sorry.. I'm mean to you. Another story happened to me: It was a cold day without having cash in my bags. My friend wanted to look for GameCube magazines. I was quite bored because of her. Then I thought I could look up to the XBox magazines... Suddenly I saw a XBox magazine with another title, including a DVD with a short movie and an interview with Lorne Lanning on it.

I wanted to own it! I wanted to do everything just to get this magazine on the this day! I looked at my friend and almost fell down to my knees. "Please give me some money!!!!!" I screamed. Some people stared at me, it didn't bother me. I wanted to own this magazine!

I've got it five minutes later and still enjoy looking at the pictures. I saw the DVD one time. It's just great :p

I don't think so, but it was pretty obvious what it was referring to. I guess they didn't have enough money to print the extra few characters ;)

I too would like to get my hands on the magazine, especially for the article and DVD.

When I read the news on OddBlog, it didn't occur to me that the cards were playing cards. If I had it might have made some sense. *custom emoticon*

I'm not 100% sure but I think the cards will appear in back to back issues. So if you get both issues, you'll have a full deck of cards.

euhm, 16 and 16 is only 32. I know that it is from 7 til A's, but a full deck of cards is 52.

Actually, I was in the city to look for new clothes today. After I found everything I needed I remembered the informations about the Man!ac magazine.
So I went to a small tobacco shop where miscellaneous magazines are available. I looked through every pile of game magazines. I found nothing.
Despairingly, I asked the seller for that magazine. She said, "Yeah, I know that". She grabbed between a pale of housewives- magazines and handed me this brilliant magazine over! I couldn't believe it. It was hidden between garden- magazines nad housewives- magazines- and it was the last one! I was so happy that I had to laugh aloud.

On the DVD is a 6 minutes prewiev of Oddworld Stranger's Wrath. It delivers insight to the game.
The cards are brilliant! I love them.
The next part of the cards will come on the 28th of January.
If you like to see the first part of the cards, here you are.
If you don't like to see them, just don't look.

I couldn't see the images, but knowing how evil Angelfire is, I decided to generously download the image source and host them on OddBlog with full credit still going to Alector. Didn't work. I ended up with a couple of dud files.

Also, Alector, your personal site seems to be just a big advert for Angelfire.

Nevertheless, thanks for the work, and I must say it's great to hear from you again.

EDIT: Ah, they're showing now. If they fail for anyone, I've uploaded them both to here and here.

I phoned the "international magazine store" (IMS) located in my town, but they don't have and will not have MAN!AC... too bad for me I guess.

and yeah there will be another set of cards in the next mag:
