Eternitys' music...

Imagine that you have to choose one song to play for the rest of your life. All other music will be banned except this one song you choose. It must be one you'll never get tired of hearing, one you could listen to forever. Which song do you choose?

I nominate Placebo - Nancy Boy.

Cloverfield 12-21-2004 08:57 AM

One Winged Angel of course. From the FFVII OST.

I could never get sick of Sephiroth's music. I already listen to it over and over anyways.

Abe Babe...

The Ninth Symphony by Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Seriously.

Don't get too reverent.

The rest of the stuff I listen to is crap.

I'd choose something classical as well. Probably not the Nineth, but possibly the Fifth. Who doesn't love it? Overall, I'd at least pick something without words. To me, songs with words, even beautiful words, tend to get "older" more quickly.

Yeah that's true.

I think that if Thomas Newmans' "Shawshank Prison" was longer, I would've chosen that. But ultimately, anything classic for me has to be driving, powerful, dark, evil, and somewhat industrial.

If I had to choose an artist it would probably be Jimmy Eat World. But there is only one song I could listen to forever without needing variation, and that's Nancy Boy.

Ashese of the wake by Lamb Of God. Its all instrumental, so you can make up your own words for it if you want, this would never get old.

I'll continue on from Mawk with Thomas Newman's soundtrack to Finding Nemo.

Also 'Nosebleed Section' from the Hilltop Hoods. I can listen to it over and over and I never get bored of it.

Thomas Newman really is a great musician. I especially liked the work he did for the Road to Perdition.

American Beauty and the opening titles to Six Feet Under are brilliant too.

They are. Thomas Newmans' skill and talent for creating music which fits in with the atmosphere and emotions of a film is truly awesome.

One of Thomas Newmans' most famous piano works is on American Beauty and Shawshank... I've got the Shawshank album laying around somewhere. It's a really great piece. The name was something like 'Brooks was here'.

Some song, Mists of Avalon or something similar. I can't remember exactly who made it or it's title... will check that.
Anyway, I love it and listen to it over and over...

Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
It's 42 minutes long, so it would be harder to get tired of!

sligster 12-22-2004 12:40 AM

omg, Banana Phone by Raffi! The most annoyingly addictive song. EVER!

GYAAAAG!

Miss Odd 12-22-2004 12:35 PM

That's easy... Final Fantasy X Ending Theme. It's long and orchestrated, and beautiful :)

Alcar 12-22-2004 03:40 PM

Hmmm...

Probably a really long song. Even in Japanese, that way I could try and understand the words, even make up my own Japanese to go along with the song.

I think what he's trying to say is that he would want the music to be sung in another language so that he could learn the meaning of the words.

Am I right Alcar?

That's what I thought, but I was just checking ^^

I'd prefer to listen to something in a different language, mainly in spanish, that's why I like Shakira so much, I can listen to her songs all day. But if I had to listen to only one song, it'll have to be Ciega, Sordomuda.

Hobo 12-24-2004 08:36 AM

John Frusciante - Ramparts

Pretty song. Short, but could be repeated a lot.

Good Choice:D

Marilyn Manson - Coma White

It has a different effect on me everytime:D

If I were to pick an orchestral song to play for eternity, it would probably be Mozart's Requiem. If it were a rock song, it would be... god damn. I don't know. But for sheer beauty, it would be Watermelon in Easter Hay by Zappa.

Leto 12-28-2004 06:35 PM

Baby Rasta. Forgot the song name (You see people, I'm stupid), but its on the greatest hits of Reggaeton vol 2.

Speaking of reggae, if my selection hadn't been Nancy Boy, I would've quite possibly chosen "Outer Space" by The Prodigy.

Leto 12-31-2004 05:23 PM

Either Baby Rasta, or 'The First Movement of the Oddysee' by Incubus, on the Halo 2 soundtrack.
