Official Xbox Mag (French) Preview
 

In the issue number 36 (chrismas 2004) of the French OXM there is a 6 page preview, including some never before seen art.

it includes something that looks like a Gloctigi, and a SLOG.

I could'nt scan it, so I had to take some pictures of it (one of them is a detail), sorry for the crappy quality

Yes, a slog. Those are nice images. And that has to be a Ogtici in the back ground. I'm not sure but, but are thier 2 typs of slegs, or are they the same.

There's Meagly McGraw perched on Tiny McGraw there, between Gunter VonFahrenheiten and Flint McGee. Notice there are no Live Ammo species or Scuba Toads in the compilation. And a Slog... hmmm, okay, there are Fuzzles, Vykkers and Slogs from past games.

I would love to see that line-up in greater detail. Great work, Xav.

I might go with the mag at my girlfriend's home to scan it and have it better quality...
but I don't know if I'll have the time to do so

Yeah I bought it 5 days ago, it's a great magazine, but quite expensive (10€).
Nice long and complete article, I'd like to scan it for you, but my scaner's program no longer works.

The lack of anything on Scuba toads for ages is worrying - I hope they aren't dropped.

well I'm not working on a transcript... there are no new infos in there...

The scuba toads are in the Art of Oddworld book. I can't remember if they're shown in relation to Stranger or not, but they are on a page opposite to the Grubbs.

What's the blurry shape behind the Grubbs on the left? In this blurry image it looks a little like munch.

It's the Vykker.

1) they are not related to Stranger, nor in the Stranger Section
2) it's the Vykker Doc, with the large Hat

Holy crap! Scuba Toads are my reason for living! I love those little guys. I join you in your hope that they aren't dropped.

1) But there are a lot of Stranger-related images at the start of the book. I know that that is not any real proof, but I'm just showing my train of thought.
2) I can see it now. The reflector things on his hat looked a bit like eyes.

The scuba toads were shown in that pic with the big shipwreck in snow, the one that was said to be inspired by Noah's Ark. I assumed that they were being shown in relation to Stranger. I would exlain more but I don't want to go into too much detail about the book (you know spoilers and everything).

I hope the scuba toads aren't dropped, I really liked them.

I see 2 explanations for the fact we don't see them anymore:
1) they are dropped
2 they want us to forget them, and bring them as a surprise back in the game

I hope they haven't been dropped. They looked incredibly interesting. But I guess if they were, there was a good reason. Perhaps they'd appear in Stranger 2? I too have found their absence quite weird, and then theire absence from the line-up in this magazine isn't helping any.

I re-readed the preview today and I found an intresting tibit:
According to MOW, mister Sekto (the one who is behind the dam problem) is the Oktigi we saw in the ScreenShot

Ahhh, good find Xav.Mr Sekto is sure an evil bastard.:p
