Europe2 preview
There's a French preview over at Europe2.
http://europe2.jeuxactu.com/article-...e-99-pos0.html Regardless of the languages you can speak, there are three pages of largely-familiar screenshots, but also five new Outlaw Dead or Alive pictures. Credit goes to OddBlog. |
A new robotic Outlaw.
|
As seen in a screenshot previously, I believe in the Mongo Valley section of the Stranger's Wrath website. I'll go find.
EDIT: Just as I'd suspected: http://images.ea.com/eagames/officia...reenshot_2.jpg |
I'm guessing/hoping that's a boss battle. I can't imagine fighting a bunch of those.
|
oh come ooon...what is that robot doing there? =/ I mean look at it, it has antennas sticking out of an exposed brain...what kind of idiot would build a robot like that? it just looks silly
|
probably PackRat Palooka...
he seems to love weird robots beings |
:
|
........Farzad would've designed a much cooler robot.
|
......But Farzad don't live here anymore. There's no point crying over spilt designers, I mean milk.
Remember though that Farzad was not the only Production Designer on the early games. He wasn't even the lead designer on the Abe games - that was Steven Olds. |
I miss Farzad. His designs would have been MUCH cooler, and he would have done wonders for that robot.
Is it me, or does the robot have an exposed brain/electrodes in the brain? |
:
And it isn't you, Dipstikk. That is its brain, exposed, with electrodes sticking out of it. I've basically pushed this image out of my mind for now, for I fear I may spontaneously combust ;) Alcar... |
I know there's no point in crying over Farzad. Swanland is an awesome artist worthy of Oddworld, but I have my doubts that he designed that robot. I mean, the thing looks like it came out of Crash Bandicoot or some other game with uninspired designs. Farzad had this freakish alien sensibility that made his stuff so unique.
|
Oddworld doesn't realy need Farzad... it was great to have him aboard, but OWI still has some incredible talented artists in there.
Raymond, Silvio, Gautam,... are doing some awesome job. The players need to relate more to the things they see in this game, that's why all the creatures are more human like then before. At least that's my understanding of things |
If it was Silvio Aebischer, I would be surprised - his vehicles and machinery designs are usually fantastic and entirely Oddworldian.
