If oddworld was a tv seires what do you think it wuld be about.

Well it could be about this guy called abe whose species is about to be turned into a foodstuff so he tries to escape and he falls down a cliff and dies but this bigface appears and resurrects him* so he goes on these challenges and gets these scars and... need I go on?


On another note 1) Why do I get the feeling that we're going to see a Daily Deception soon with a reference to Seires?

On another note 2)(*) Has anyone else noticed that Abe is really Jesus? Just like Neo.

Unlike Neo, he isn't Jesus. But his is their saviour and will probably be their messiah.

Abe is a saviour... like Jesus yes...
there have been speculations about Abe being crucified in the final bad ending.

But actually Abe is going to be more powerfull then Neo and Jesus

I mean, I wouldn't mind, but then there's thoes pesky Christian zealots. Not normal Christians, but the really crazy, Uber-Christians.

BTW I made my Abe/Jesus/Neo connection in reference to resurrection rather than anything else.

I would so love to see Abe crucified in the final Bad Ending. My soul would rumble with spiritual satisfaction. So long as it was an Oddworldian crucifix, not just a lower-case ‘t’.

Abe was ressurected, by Big Face in AO. Abe is different from Neo/Jesus as at the end of the day he's just your average Joe caught up in something big.

Abe being crucified would be mega-fantastic. It would be such a powerful ending...

Perhaps I'm pushing this metaphor a bit too far but here goes:

Neo: average schmuck computer programmer from an oppressed race (humans), finds out about the matrix, gets shot by agents, comes back to life and has the power to stop bullets.
Jesus: average schmuck carpenter from an oppressed race (Jews), finds out he's the son of god, gets crucified by romans, comes back to life and has the power to walk on water.
Abe: average schmuck floor waxer from an oppressed race (muds), finds out about the mudukon pops, falls down cliff and dies, comes back to life and has the power to turn into the shrykull.

Was Jesus actually unaware of his being God? That's a pretty darned important thing not to realise.

And the Neo/Jesus/Abe comparrisons could continue with other characters/people. The idea of a down-to-Earth character become a Messiah is by no means new. Oddworld just happens to be the greatest version of it... ;)

Neo: He's the chosen one, he can perform stuff no-one else can (bearing in mind that Big Face has special powers). He's no average Joe.

Jesus: Apparently he was the son of God and could perform miracles before he died. He was no average Joe.

Now Abe IS chosen by destiny but in truth he is normal. Any Mudokon could have done the same and got the same powers. He is nothing special.

I didn't say at what stage in his life he found out, but its not like he was messiah-ing from day one.

Was it the forty days in the desert that was the turning point? I'm no New Testament theologican.

What I'm saying is that he always was special. He didn't have to die to gain his powers.

I think it was. After that he went about preaching.

Also did you know that there is a gospel that isn't in the bible? It's the gospel of St. Thomas and is a collection of stories about Jesus' childhood written around the same time as the others.
The reason it didn't make the bible? It makes Jesus out to be unforgiving and evil. In one of the stories he makes some people blind because of something he considers wrong.

I believe Abe is strong in spirit and heart. Not all muds seem good as they are, but Abe know what's the right think to do and has good control and dosn't get carryed away with Soulstrom Brew. And has good Quarmer , so dose Jesus.

There is tonnes of material not in the Bible, more than there is in there. And by material, I mean exactly the same kinds of gospels, scrolls and ancient texts the books and letters of the Bible are taken from.

I really can't be bothered to come up with something on-topic. How about we try and wind up this train of conversation?

Noo... I find this conversation quite interesting.... Then at least make another thread about it. I cannot participate in myself, cuz i haven't read the bible...

I'm telling you guys, Abe is not going to get crucified. If they want to gain fans, they need to keep away from the heavy stuff like religion.

Now, what would be really cool would be this big, final fight between Abe and Molluck. All choreographed and stylized.
Maybe it could be a final level, and you could see it in action in a bonus FMV.

THAT would be awesome.

Yeah... I hope we'll see more to Molluk. I mean, he is afterall Abe's main-enemy. The one who has caused him pain and all.

He walked on water before he was crucified. Duh! :p

Anyway, Abe getting crucified at the end would be powerful, but not all that original. Maybe Oddworld would put a twist on it, but I'd like to see something...more. More epic...yah.

a crucifiction would be exactly the kind of thing I'd hate to see in OW, in the beggining the direct refferences to the history of our world were very subtle, but they've been geting heavier and heavier, and it just takes the odd out of odd-world.

I'd like to see something more truly meaningful, a crucifiction would be sot of a inflated hollow ending.

I wasn't being chronological. I chose that order to clarify the comparisons between the three.

Well, Neo and Abe got their "powers" after their death experiences. Jesus had his before and after the crucifixion.
