Invader Zim, ruler of Earth
 

I have been aware that there are several members who have heard of the great Invader Zim (and of coarse GIR), I wanted to bring a thread for us less than human characters to talk on this wonderful topic of Invader Zim. Here we can talk about how we can enslave the human filthies to work, have a chat about other Invaders like that invader Spooch (Curse you Spooch!), or converse about the little crazy-headed chacter GIR. OUR COLLECTIVE DOOM WILL FALL FROM THE SKY ONTO THE FILITY DOOMED HEAD'S OF OUR ENEMIES!!! Of coarse those who have never heard of Invader Zim might be a little lost in this all.

P.S rejoice my invaders, IZ has made its way back onto Nickelodon!

Great cartoon. I was sad to see it go.

Ah yes we all were but, there is good news. For any of you with Satillite TV or Digital Cable provider that carries a channel called Nicktoons will be able to watch everyday. That ain't the only good news early on this morning was a episode of IZ (the one with Zim stealing organs and the attached episode that comes with it, man, I need to work on my episode titles again), so there is a huge amount of hope. Nick has decided to likely restore IZ to there regular channel because of its hugh sudden popularity not to long ago. "I must go tend to the laser wessel expiriment (I think think they're ripe by now)"

I have Nicktoons. And im lovin' it. My goal in life is to praise it whenever possible. Namely for Rocko, Angry Beavers, and Action League Now.

Also, in regards to cartoons, you know what time it is? Christmas time. Which means Christmas specials. Booyah.

Uhhh kind of doubt it. Sorry. Invader Zim is outta production, and having read an interview with JV, it doesn't sound like he's too keen to start it up again. And considering how relatively few episodes there are, well, even Nickelodeon isn't THAT repetitive. That's what Nicktoons is for. All the shows not good enough to make it on the main station, or otherwise too old or cancelled.

Too bad though. Zim was an AWESOME cartoon, but so incredibly short-lived. Damn those corporate bastards.

Great to see someone with Nicktoons too, (Rocko's Modern Life is da bomb). Anyway they started making Invader Zim DVD for sale and nick dug up IZ creator and asked "I think we made a mistake with IZ, are you willing to come back" type stuff after t-shirts, plush toys, and GIR suits hit the roof. Like I said this morning they air an episode of IZ on nick. Good work fellow Invaders, the Almighty Tallest will be quite pleased. This thread also allows Invaders and Oddwordians (and cross-breds) to join together, also making it tabooed from insult from any Forum member. IZ fans and Invaders are very terratorial and protective over their beloved GIR and Zim and many know that the first person to sneer at IZ will quickly be shot, I MEAN brutley harassed, yes brutley harassed. So this is a good bond between Oddworld and Invader Zim (although after reading oddguy's thread about OWI not doing Oddworld based games but rather a real world, earth type game called citzen seige it doesn't look like the world of Oddworld has got much wind left in it). Good work Invaders your reputation presides you.

Whee! Zim and GIR... god, I love GIR. Yet another amazing work of the great Jhonen. Hmm... no offense, OT, but I think he would eat your spleen and other various organs because you keep referring to yourself and other fans as invaders, which annoys the crap out of him according to the commentary on the DVDs. Say it with me... "I am NOT an invader. I am human... HU-MAN!"

Invader Zim was way too cool for Nickelodeon. Sure, SpongeBob is great, but I'd have to sit through "U-Pick-Live" and all manner of annoying things to watch it. Thank God for DVD.

Had IZ been picked up by a network willing to air an 'adult cartoon' the show would have been aired in its original context and been....great.

At first I thought the show was pretty good. I mean, it had it's extremely repetetive moments, but in general it was fairly amusing.

Of course, like most good things, it was soon whored out to the general public by Hot Topic....And then ruined by the obsessive fans who decided to constantly quote Zim as well as constantly torture me with horrible impersonations of everyones favorite little invader.

Working in a Hot Topic I guess I kind of got the worst of it. Because of my experiences with prepubescent dolts who thought Jhonen's previous comics were 'stupid and too violent' the following blog entry was spawned.

"Invader Zim is stupid.

No, seriously, it is.

The cartoon wasn't all that funny. The animation was ****ing awesome, but the cartoon sucked more cock than Courtney Kirk in a months time.

And that's a lot of cock, believe me.

Anyway, what I really want to rant/bitch about is people who feel the need to quote invader zim during every day conversation. Let me give you a few examples:

It was a good show, but not to the horrible extent of constant quoting. How you survive in such a social pisshole as Hot Topic is beyond me. I despise that store with all my might. I despise the style of people who purchase mass quantities from the store to be cool. Hell, I don't even mind Abercrombie/Hollister/etc... as much. At least you can get some nice looking clothes there, even if you're paying an extra $20 for a dinky little logo.

And Oddguy, U-Pick isn't that bad. I (And apparently the 12 and under male social group at the Nick.com forums in its entirety) find Candace rather easy on the eyes.

Candace is pleasnat looking, but either she is paid to talk in her "hey kids! let's be excited about stupid stuff!" voice, or that's her normal voice and it's annoying.

Well, of course she's paid, and has to be photogenic towards the demographic of kids who come home from school only to plop down in front of cartoons plagued by mediocrity. I mean, kids talk show-esque host doesn't sound like a bad deal. Meet pop idols, get lots of free crap, and recieve money to be stupid.

I know she's paid. I was just saying I wonder if she's paid to act annoying for the children (which she most likely is) or if she's annoying in real life. A valid query I think.

Invader Zim was for kids. I had heard a lot about it from you lot, and then when I watched it I could only bare to watch the first five minutes.

Being an absolute sucker for cartoons, I loved Zim. When I first saw the style of it, I was simply blown away. I had never seen anything like it.

But unfortunately, like Davie said, it became a Hot Topic Whore... just like Nightmare Before Christmas and about 75 other things I like.

I don't know, it's weird. It's like, back when nobody knew about it, I desperately wanted to find someone else that did. Since Hot Topic started pumping out Zim merchandise, everyone and their mother f*cking grandmother knows about it. Now I've sort of reverted into this pricky "Hey! I knew about that before you!" state. And that really pisses me off.

Meh... whatever. I guess it's just the whole "if everyone's unique, nobody's unique" thing.

Hold on there everyone, don't be quick to insult IZ for your own sake. Those faithful IZ are very zelous and will juump on anyone quick to quarrel. We don't want a mass revolution going on between the IZT and the OWF do we. I like both Oddworld and IZ(even whats left of it) so that would make me a cross-bred. Kind comments please. Also Jhonen wasn't the most trilled person when he saw how Hot Topic crapped up everything, he was at least a little pissed off.

We're not really insulting the cartoon. Just the Hot Topic whoring of it. And who said anything about a revolution, or cross-breeding? Dear god, just drop this little act and speak (type?) like a normal person does.

EDIT: And Cyber-Slig, who says cartoons can't be watched by adults? And at that, IZ isn't even much of a show for the young children of the world.

Mijic your not insulting anyone I was just referring to Cyber Sligs comment. I have dedicated my work to the forums know and no more creepy strange or posing like other people for me only a healthy dose of reality. I have alredy done a great contribution to the spolier forum.

Dude you're obsessed, chill out a little. You know, the major difference between Oddworld and IZ, is that Oddworlds creators didn't make anything else worth looking at, but IZ's Jhonen Vasquez DID. There are other, much better JV works out there, give them a chance before you go wonkey about IZ.
