cool found oddguy,
i like the typical "Lorne" comments its something he does in every interview:p |
Thank you oddguy. So oddworld is about globalization? It's true though.
|
aaahaaa I can see Google alerts did a wonderfull job once again :D
anyway thanks Oddguy, I was just kidding a bit :p |
Google Alerts, among other Oddworld alerts are a wonderful thing. My GMail notifier flashed as soon as I turned on my computer this morning with an Oddworld update :p But I'd guessed all of you had found them already.
As for the interview, good find oddguy! It's a great read :) Alcar... |
Hmmm... interesting. They are actively discussing an Abe movie, not just saying that its something that will happen in the future.
|
Yeah, I use Google alerts...and I'm not ashamed! :p

I found the very laid back discussion about the movie out of the ordinary. I've seen hints from various websites that Oddworld are looking into doing a film shortly, but nothing as solid as what Lorne said in this interview.
Interestingly, I found another interview with Lorne that was exactly the same as this. Yet on a different site, though it appeared to be linked together. Alcar... |
Lorne did say in an iterview that he thought it would best if they released the quintology in movies first.
|
He said that movies would be his chosen medium if the right levels of video gaming console technology didn't arise, but clearly games are his preferred medium.
|
Its tough to say 'preferred'. He originally wrote them as films but he decided to make games first as a way to establish the Intellectual Property and raise money to make the films - rather than just sell the script to the highest bidder so that they could massacre the plot any way they liked.
|
I think Lorne has shown a great dedication to the artistic qualities of video games, and I'm sure his belief in them is not apart from his desire to develop the Oddworld Quintology titles through them, but what you say is true also. I do suppose that Lorne is drawn to video games for much more reason than the two premises you identified, though.
