LMAO...Why am I not surprised?

I doubt the higher echelons of Microsoft actually sanctioned the use of the software. It was probably some everyday employee looking for a shortcut.

Though, it is still interesting :p

Alcar...

So what if bigwhigs didn't authorize this? A company can and should get its chops busted if it allows people to commit crimes at the workplace. Do you think that this was 1 violation? I'm sure that MS has thousands of warez in use RIGHT NOW and hundreds that people know about and nothing happens. Meanwhile, little Joe Nobody trying to run a small business can get shaken down and shaken down big, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars, for the same violations that large companies commit thousands of times daily. And you know what makes this really disgusting? Whose always the first company to declaim using warez and pirated stuff? Microsoft, that's who and I'd be willing to bet that they're one of the biggest violators in the game.

Statikk you're showing that you've never had a proper job, at least in a reasonably big company. I currently work for Ford. They have very strict rules about what can and can't be installed on a computer and advertise them regularly. What's more, once or twice a year they scan every computer for unauthorised programs.

thus a) they cut the number of illegal programs and b) they indemnify themselves from guilt if an employee does have a program installed.

I have to agree with Alcar on this. Some sort of conspiracy would be lovely, but we're not here to play CBS news. It's simply something called, "business." I could care less. Companies really are more on the crackdown nowadays regarding technology use. System scans, tracking email, instant messenger, etc...
