What song?

My friends have started a new band
bron:electric guitar
Ali: Bass
Nat: Drums
Dee:Vocals
Seb:Keyboard

What songs do you think they should start playing at first?

Wil 11-13-2004 11:34 AM

As in covers or tributes? You should do the songs you enjoy! Even if other people don't enjoy your slaughtering the classics (kidding :p), creativity is a form of expression as much as entertainment. As for new songs, then I don't know. My compositions for GCSE music were pretty poor. Depends what styles of music you like, but from the looks of the lineup you'll be doing pop/rock.

Have fun with your venture, in any case. ;)

Majic 11-13-2004 11:35 AM

Well, what is your groups level of musical talent? That's a pretty important factor, chap.

Smell 11-13-2004 11:40 AM

well, there at diffrent levels, but Ali is better than others, As for style, it's rock but there thinking a cross between RHCP and the darkness. I'm not in it, but I'm trying to help them. As for the name, it's G- or G minus, I'm not sure.

Hobo 11-13-2004 11:43 AM

So you're in the light rock - medium rock area eh? Remember to keep it simple. And if you want to go for heavier stuff listen to RHCP's older albums, whereas the lighter stuff is on the new stuff.

Smell 11-13-2004 11:46 AM

Ali loves RHCP and has a load of there albums, but they have got a long way to go yet.

Muse - Host

Simple, and great to play.

Smell 11-13-2004 11:50 AM

well, I would download it but that's gone iffy so I'll just have to see if any have them have got it. Or steal it off my ex friends big brother- Joke.

Fez 11-13-2004 11:52 AM

Come on msn, i'll send it to you.

Smell 11-13-2004 11:53 AM

ok. Though maybe another day because I'll have to go in a min and they take ages to download

Mac the Janitor 11-13-2004 11:59 AM

Don't start out with covers. You need to do your own songs for a while, THEN once you've established a reputation and/or name in the local scene you should do some covers.

And when you do the covers, don't make them sound exactly the same, that entirely defeats the purpose. Have fun with it, bend it to the point where it's about to break.

They have asked me to be the ssongwriter

munchman 11-19-2004 05:30 PM

I wish the best of luck to them, it is really hard to form a band that can work perfect togather, i changed bands a lot before sticking to the one im in now, and i still have second thoughts. It also takes lots of time. The band im in now covers Nirvana a lot, and we make are own heavy metal grooves. I think your friends should do what they feel is right. ROCK ON

i think they should make a song of their names... bron ali... natdeeseb
i would like to hear that song...

No offense man, but they sound pretty shit if they can't even write their own songs. That's like those popstars who get other people to write their songs. What's the point? Whose opinion are you expressing?!!

OANST 11-20-2004 05:24 AM

As a new band they should probably stay away from covers. It's a bad habit to get into.
