Squeek's Oddysee
 

I heard that there is another Oddworld game called Squeek's Oddyese and its releted to Oddworld Quintology. My question is... is Oddworld Inhabitans are working on 3 games at once? they only work on Stranger.
the other 2 games are just projects, they might come out in the future, or not...

The deal with Hand of Odd and Squeek's Exoddus is that they were announced or mentioned games that are not currently in production at OWI.

Stranger squeek's oddysee is an ancient concept for a game.There is no way it is coming out.And if it was no offense but I think it sounds pretty lame....Squeek?Come to think of it it's not as bad as stranger...I think thats a terrible name for the game :S but no squeek's oddysee is scrapped.

it isn't scrapped, it's just postponed...
the third opus of the quintology is still going to be made, like the rest of it.

Its kind of funny OWI Announce all these games but they like never tells us which one will come out first. Hand Of Odd was announced earlier than Stranger but Stranger is coming First. Its kind of weird meybe that why their called Oddworld Inhabitans? :P

as many as they can. Its not like they have set themselves a time limit and they've said repeatedly that once the quintology is finished they will go on to make other games set on oddworld.

Yeah, the idea Lorne (OWI head) has is that he'll do various games as many other companies, but hey wil ALL be set in one world instead of having each one of them set in a diferent world, there's no point to designing a whole new world if he can have all his games take place in a planet 10 times as big as earth :p

And CS...heh yeah that's true about the names...it's not like the names of the heros have ever been too impressive anyway, "fear the almighty munch" _-_ heh...all their names are just so ODD :p...I mean...look at all the critter names, meech...meep fleech...squeek....they all sound like the method which they use to chose the names is write gibberish until something sounds good :p...

seriously now I REALLY do hope they continue with the quintology, the whole simbiosis theme of squeek sounds SO good =O

Lorne hasn't been talking about licensing out oddworld for a few years now - not since well before munch - so he's probably given up on the idea. And a good thing too. I really don't think anyone else could do justice to Oddworld

Oddworld did licensing their games, for GameBoy :p

anyway I love the fact all the oddworld games will be located on Oddworld, I like it is going now I think we can expect lots and lots of games coming from them

i realy look forward to all of owi games,

but since i seem to catch up allot, because i never could play MO because it was exlusive for x-box, I hope they will licence another company to make MO in the same way for PS 2 so that all those people now what they'ff missed and catch it up

To be fair on OWI, the only game they've actually announced that hasn't come out (aside from Stranger) is Oddworld: Hand of Odd. Everything else, like Squeek's Oddysee, the Fearietales and SligStorm have just seeped out into public knowledge.

I don't know about Munch and Squeek, or even the rumoured Nod. Sounds like onomatops are popular for hero names, but maybe there is some thought behind them. I'm convinced Abe's name comes from Abraham Lincoln, who contested slavery in America. And then there's Sam... Uncle Sam! :p

I noticed stuff like that.I think oddworld is getting to be a bit american.For one abe now sounds like a damn cowboy.Two. glockstars.Cowboys again?My friend thought Lulu was a pimp in his pink glockstar suit.....But hand of odd has atleast a 25% of being released.whereas squeek etc would only have 10% OWI is really mysterious.For all you know they could be working on the games right now.They hate to give info away but either that or it's a riot from the fans outside the building :p

I would say Squeek has a much higher chance of being released than Hand of Odd. The Quintology is Lorne's epic, and he's made it clear he doesn't want to sacrifice it for anything. Hand of Odd is part of a separate series.

Yes Squeek sounds very interesting but we will just have to wait. Didn't Lorne say that they were going to do a few more games before they went back to the Quintology though?

Well I remember Lorne saying that Sherry liked Squeek's story so much that she just wanted to start off the Quintology with him/her. Then theres the story of Squeek being the first character Lorne created for the Quintology. Just by the sound of it, Squeek should be truely interesting.

To answer Al, Yes Lorne said he'd try to do as many games as he could untill they think the tecnology is ready to push his Quintology forward. Which is understandable seeing as OWI was origanally formed to make the Quintology.

Lorne did specify that he'd like to see OWI releasing one game a year, which seems somewhat optimistic to me, but with The Strange Engine being everything OWI are looking for, and the use of realtime cinematics, production times should be reduced somewhat.

Actually Max, the Fearitales and Habitales have been officially mentioned in the AE guidebook. At least in the one that came with the PC version I got. But that's about the only mention of those two series as far as I know.

Habitales are about the lives of the inhabitants, aren't they? I would hate to see that scrapped. I've always wanted to walk around Oddworld, learning about the creatures that live there.

I'm glad that OWI are making all of their games on Oddworld, it'll mean that we can learn more about the creatures and cultures that live there.

um...what is sligstorm anyway?

it was supposed to be a short bonus game, that would have been released with the collector box including AO and AE.
It was featuring an albino slig who has to escape.

but the project was cancelled, the storyline could be re-used.

did only the project of Sligstorm cancelled or also the collector box??

the collector box including the interviews, and artwork was cancelled.
this was allready some years ago.

ah too bad or else i tried to get my hands on one ;)
