Multimedia Fusion 1.5

Well I'm found this software, when I'm on nostalgia... I played Sonic games... Yeah, I'm an old Sonic fan, cos that was the first game I played and the thing that causes I love Oddworld... so my childhood dream was to make a sonic game, and I find this. I saw many games in the net what created with this software, so I was thinking... this thing is enought powerful to make an Oddworld game? There is anybody who always wanted to make an own OW game? Or experienced with this thing (or sg. ) ?

I've always wanted to play a oddworld game where played a glukkon slowly advancing up the ranks until youre a glockstar.Own choice of appearance and clothing too.

I like to play games where your main weapon is your brain not your trigger finger. Or a game where there's room after room of constant blasting people. Lots of blood.

WiLL the Wander 08-24-2004 10:02 AM

Ok, but there is anyone who knows how to use it? It's hard. Very hard.

Lucipher 08-24-2004 10:05 AM

Oh well. Maybe your brain can't handle role playing games.

T-nex 08-24-2004 10:05 AM

Umm... COuld you tell a little more about the program? It sounds interesting...

WiLL the Wander 08-24-2004 10:09 AM

You can create 2d games, applications, with sound, etc. from the normal platform game to a rpg. Well a simple rpg.

T-nex 08-24-2004 10:12 AM

And how do you use it? Is there a script language needed?

WiLL the Wander 08-24-2004 10:19 AM

Uhhh... no... It's only needs a lots of tutorials and perfect english... that I don't have...

T-nex 08-24-2004 10:22 AM

Yeah... but how do you use it? Do you write comands, design the enemys and such?

WiLL the Wander 08-24-2004 10:32 AM

Well yes... you must create active objects ( like the player, enemes etc.), background and the ground ( or sg.) after this you can build your level or game menu or cutscene, etc. in the frame editor, after this you must make the engine in the event editor like:
If X objects collides with Y object, X object plays the DIE animation... and stuff...

T-nex 08-24-2004 10:37 AM

Aha... And does this program cost anything? or is it for free?

WiLL the Wander 08-24-2004 10:42 AM

Yes, you must pay for this, but I downloaded with DC++.... or Emule?...

I just now realize it. You're girl?

T-nex 08-24-2004 10:44 AM

Yup... I accidently choosed Male instead of female in my profile....

Well back on topic.... IS there a website about this program? Well.. I must sign off now... Goodnights...

WiLL the Wander 08-24-2004 10:50 AM

I don't know, I found this when I downloaded very good Sonic fan games. Ok, goodnight, I go to play more Sonic games...

Slightly Unrelated:
I create an Oddworld side scroller game with GameMaker. You played a fuzzle who had lost his teeth (so he's harmless and I didn't have to do fight animations etc), and all you could was move from side to side and jump. For some reason, sligs were standing around in Vykkers labs (they were immobile) constantly shooting one bullet every 3 seconds, at a wall. I think I finished about five screens and the main menu. The fuzzle even had gamespeak, 1,2,3. One of them said hello, one said attack.. I think. And one said something else - using those fuzzle speak soundbytes that are floating around somewhere.

I have mentioned this so many times but I have a partially finished Munch's Oddysee in the style of Abe's Oddysee (i.e. 2d). Made in Flash. It looks and plays pretty good, I doubt you could tell much difference if there was an official 2d one. Sadly I got stuck in a rut coding it, and it will be stuck in that very rut for a while. Who knows, maybe someday I will pull it up again and finish it.

I also make many other games for my site, wether it be platformer, fighting, 3D, simulator, etc etc. Flash is one of the most powerful tools for an amateur game designer, so if you are wanting to start game programming don't waste your time with these cheap programs. I strongly suggest getting Flash, if you are willing to learn the coding and pay a fairly high price for the full version.
