Next Month in games(TM)
 

Today, I broght myself one of those stylish 'gamesTM' magazines from WH Smith, and after reading through the whole magazine, in the last page I found a two page spread advertising Oddworld Stranger in their 'Next month' Section. It features the in-game screenshot across the two pages that we've seen before, with Stranger leaping into the ait and the two nameless hencemen with their hats too far down below.
Their exact words were:
"Oddworld: Stranger [hence the ':'....]
You thought the West was wild? In Oddworld it's just weird. gamesTM visits San Francisco to get to grips with what could be EA's smartest licence acquisition yet..."

Sounds like their happy with it, and it'll probably be pretty good. I wouldn't expect any new information or screens though.

The magazine is coming out on the 9th of September, and is the October Issue.

Cool...... I'll be getting that.

Did GameTM used to be called Edge?

No, they're two different magazines, which look pretty similar. gamesTM is a relatively new magazine.

Well spotted, Esus. OddBlog would now be updated, but I'm having trouble with Blogger, and it won't work. I reckon Google have started using Python, and it's screwing with my browser. *sigh*

Interestingly, though, both XBM and gamesTM are published by Highbury Entertainment, formerly Paragon (www.paragon.co.uk).

Yeh, there was a little thing for Stranger in this month's GMR magazine, but I'm sure somebody's already pointed it out. I know how fast you kids are with these things. ;)

Stranger seems to be very promising. High praise from all directions. Very nice.

Good spotting, Esus! And you too Mac ;) I've updated Oddworld Universe with both of the magazines mentioned, and given credit where due.

And in agreeance with Majic, it's great to see all the great praise Stranger is receiving.

Now, to try and snag me a copy of those magazines :p

I'm a little disappointed... I went out and brought the magazine today and I can't find any mention of OWS anywhere... at all.. Yep, disappointed.

The feature has been delayed, They had a bit of an overflow editorily so some games further into the distance got bumped in favour of nearer ones.....bummer!

thanx for the heads up... so I wont have to go the local store to find it out.
I guess we'll have to wait another month for that review. :p
