Stranger--IGN Video Interview

According to the description, it is an open Q&A. Sadly it is Insider only...

IGN.com

Oddish 08-04-2004 04:31 AM

Nice find MojoMan22O. I'm already member in IGN, So try'l to log in. Too see anything intresting.

£dit: Oh, you gotta pay to be an insider.

Wil 08-04-2004 06:47 AM

Already reported on OddBlog. I tried shopping around for a username and password, but it seems people are unusually unwilling to share nowadays.

Having said that, OWF probably do not endorse using other people's passwords, so ignore me.

Xavier 08-04-2004 11:39 AM

yeah it's annoying
but I don't want to pay for that...
wasn't there a member who was kind enough to upload some screens and gave them for free?
I wish he could do it again

Oddish 08-04-2004 11:49 AM

Good idea Xav. Mabey we should offer him the ultimate OW pics, Hight qualty, rare.

Nate 08-04-2004 12:47 PM

there's such a thing as the ULTIMATE OWI pics? That means you've been holding back on us until now...

Xavier 08-04-2004 08:52 PM

I don't quite get what Oddish said...
but sure there are some pics the lot of you never saw

Oddish 08-05-2004 06:44 AM

I mean the member never saw the pichures. But how can we find that member. We could try the boards on IGN, make a thread. That way we will see if there is any members.

MojoMan220 08-05-2004 07:21 AM

Why do we need pics? Its just a Q&A... there is really no reason to track somebody down to capture pics of Lorne speaking to an audience. The IGN description does not mention a demonstration of the game.

Xavier 08-05-2004 07:26 AM

in fact we only need a transcript...
I wonder where we could find someone like that
*looks around

Oddish 08-05-2004 07:47 AM

Everything is offers now days. Let's call him!

Xavier 08-05-2004 08:47 AM

yeah but who?
do you know a guy like that?

the one who did that previously isn't around anymore...

Oddish 08-05-2004 08:59 AM

I think i'm start by making a Thread on IGN

*goe's of makeing a thread*

Wil 08-05-2004 09:33 AM

I wouldn't recommend asking for help in, of all places, the IGN Forums. The whole idea of Insider is that IGN make Moolah from it - hence, they're not gonna be all that pleased when people start asking for their exclusive content for free.

It probably goes against IGN's rules to let anyone have access to your account, too. But I suppose it couldn't be wrong to share what you've paid for...

Xavier 08-05-2004 09:44 AM

hmmm cheeky... but hey if it works,
wakes up the whole problem "can I do what I want with what I bought?"

Oddish 08-05-2004 09:50 AM

Well it's too late, i've already post a thread. Hehehe. XD

*Waits*

Esus 08-05-2004 10:14 AM

can you linkify us?

Oddish 08-05-2004 10:43 AM

you mean give a link, sure.

Here

Wil 08-05-2004 10:59 AM

Ah! I'd forgotten all about these IGN Oddworld Forums. :D

*posts like crazy*

Oddish 08-05-2004 11:14 AM

Lol Max. You'll blow there minds, oddworld minds that is.

Wil 08-06-2004 11:34 AM

And as if by Majic, a responce was given. http://boards.ign.com/Oddworld/b6079/64432074/?1

For those not willing to click links, I'd say the most notable points are:
- Oddworld: Stranger will attempt to "blur the line" between movie and game.
- The "western" setting and feel is more of an initial setup; there will be other varied locations and the ending will be a surprise.
- Whereas some games use things like "normal mapping" to make little details look good in small areas, Stranger will focus more on vast environments and scale.

Everything has already been said pretty explicitly. Credit to syrusnakku for being generous enough to donate these points (I copy/pasted from him, tragically).

Oddish 08-06-2004 11:45 AM

Great! And thanks for Xav for the idea, and Max posting it. So Blur tranistions, hey i thought up that too! I think they like my idea. hee hee
Love the maping idea, and a suprise ending, that sound interesting.

I think you also forgot about this one:
-There are eight primary kinds of live ammo

I don't remeber how many Live ammo there are, can't be botherd to see.

:chippunk:

Xavier 08-07-2004 12:02 AM

wohooo nice job!
anyway it's allready reported on OddBlog

Oddish 08-07-2004 05:15 AM

I wounder if i'm going to get banned by IGN. Ah well, it was worth it :p
