After stranger

Once stranger is released do you think that they will for another PS2 or xbox game or go for xbox 2 PS 3 or gamecube 2.

Dave 07-07-2004 04:12 PM

I feel so misinformed. PS2, GCN, and Xbox all have new systems coming out?

Anyway, to stay on topic, I'd hafta guess they'd stick with Xbox. I mean, if they scrapped the entire PS2 MO project to release it on Xbox, why switch back to Playstation?

Cyber-Slig 07-07-2004 04:50 PM

x-box all the way. Many people started with ps 1 and then moved to ps 2.they get bored of that and try the gamcube or x-box.obviously microsoft pays better.so id go with x-box

Miss Odd 07-07-2004 05:47 PM

I doubt that they'll put the next game on Game Cube. They'll probably stay with Xbox and Ps2 cos that will give them a lot of exposure to gamers. If they only stick with one console they'll loose a lot of potential buyers.

Man, it's so weird now that the 5-game Microsoft contract is nullified. Who knows what could happen next.

I would prefer it would stay on the Xbox, as that's what I own :p

Xavier 07-07-2004 09:46 PM

go on PS2 and Xbox!

then perhaps the PS3 and the Xbox Next (Xenon)

multiplatform is realy a good idea for Oddworld

oddguy 07-07-2004 10:00 PM

The more sytems Oddworld is on...means there's a greater chance of more fans, which means the possibility of merchandise!
I really want Oddworld merchandise.

We cannot possibly have any idea what is going to happen. Everyone thought MO was a PS2 game for ages, and everyone thought the next five games were only Xbox, but now the next one is multi-platform - it just shows how much can change.

Yes.
Oddworld action figures!

And to stay somewhat on topic (and to show my furthur ignorance), since when was Stranger going to be released on both PS2 and Xbox?
Damn, I need to learn how to pay attention.

It's a bit early to be talking about this isn't. Wait for Stranger to come out first for some kind of non-existant supreme being's sake.

Sekto Springs 07-08-2004 07:53 AM

They'll stick with Xbox. The only reason they're also on PS2 is because of EA, if they switch publishers again then they won't release it on PS2 anymore (depending on sales and publishers of course). They won't release it on Gamecube or any Nintendo systems hopefully, I could put up with the GB, but nothing else. I just wish they'd stick with Xbox, because I don't want to have to go out and buy a new system for each game, I'm not made of money and there's many other more useful things I could buy.

Volsung 07-08-2004 09:44 AM

I agree with SS. OI has said numerous times that xbox is where the programming power and simplicity is. Perhaps the PS3 would challenge this, but until such time as it gets released I'm sure OI would stay with xbox. It seems (Mentioned in some other thread) that they aren't even planning on programming the ps2 version themselves, and that they would just let EA handle it. Which is fine with me, the less time they spend converting info, the more time they spend perfecting this game or working on a new one. That said, it still seems early for xbox next. Let's face it, they're ahead of the game now, but they don't have anywhere near enough awesome games for the current system. Eh. Who can fathom Microsoft?

ZZZZZZZZZING!

That was genius hobo. <3

Back on topic, although I like the multiplatform idea, I just hope they don't simplify the game so it can reach all systems. I want them to use 100% of the Xbox's power.

Wil 07-10-2004 04:00 AM

FYI, it was a four-game deal, not five.

Multi-platforming can only be good for OWI, and it certainly helps determine who the console warrers are. "Oh, Abe was like an unofficial mascot for PS!" Such a quote amuses me no end. It seems any gaming character that ever appeared on the platform was some kind of unofficial Sony mascot.

As for the next game, I'm thinking they'll try and make good use of the new game's engine on the Xbox before they start rebuilding for the next-next generation.

Dark Elite_H2 05-15-2005 10:47 AM

Well, 'dey were workin' on 'de Munch's Oddysey fer PS2, then Stranger's Wrath, but 'dey scraped it all. They threw 'way MO and SW, and signed fer Microsoft. That's why 'dere's no Oddworld games fer PS2. Lorne said's it on G4 TV when Cheat! was on. (Well, 'dere's the exception fer AO and AE fer PS)

Nate 05-15-2005 04:56 PM

*attempts to remain polite and controlled*

Dark Elite, this thread has remained dormant for TEN FRIGGING MONTHS. Why in god's holy name would you want to reply to it, especially as we all now know that OWI aren't even planning on making any games in the near future.

*Oh well, it's politer than most other people would have been*

Oh, and by the way, it's no more difficult to write they, working, the, away, for and there than 'dey, workin', 'de, fer and 'dere so you really have no excuse to be incomprehensible.

Dark Oddworld 05-15-2005 06:26 PM

Holy #### is this topic old why did you bring this topic back up again. Lindsey hasn't been here forever so its got to be old.

paramiteabe 05-16-2005 05:02 AM

Yep it sure is! But we now know what the next Oddworld will be on, and that is film.
