I'm thinking of starting up a website called "Sendmestuff.com" where people basically send in stuff and I show a photo of it on my website, and talk/rant about it.

I think it will be a big hit with the forum communities world wide. But I want your thoughts and ideas on it.

I think there will be some basic rules on what not to send, ie turd, explosives, poison, used condoms, dead animals, body parts, body fluids (IE blood, piss, sperm), animal fluids, vomit, food, mud, toxic substances, biohazardous materials, actinoids and other such radioactive materials.

Other than that, you can send what you like. Bullets, sculptures, toilet rolls, used crisp packets, money, CDs, etc.

Surely you'll get the odd person who will find it amusing to send you a letter bomb?

Possibly.

I will have to put my faith in royal mail. (yeah I know, probably not a good idea). But then again, what kind of person would spend all that time constructing a bomb that explodes upon opening the package, and then send it to some guy running a funny website?

Well that would come under the turd catagory. So no. (and unless you have a courier on steroids, it probably won't be steaming by the time it gets to me)

I think the idea is a good one. I personally only stick to a few websites, but I could see something like that becoming a "cult" website. Particulary if you receive unusual items and you make your comments about items funny/sarcastic.

That's the idea... But I'm starting to think that maybe my PO box will fill up with rubbish and other undesireable items...

I have an awful feeling that all the items I receive will have to be handled while wearing an NBC suit.

You could always just ask for photographs to be sent by email? Would save you a lot of time and would generally be more safe/less disgusting for you.

Other than concerns you might have about receiving dodgy mail, I think this sounds like a pretty good idea, good luck on it. :happy:

Darn, Esus! Through reading this whole thread I was thinking...e-mail would be more convienient...then you have to post the idea before I do!

Anyway, e-mail would be a whole lot easier...and e-mails don't explode. ;)
People could send you pictures, videos, slideshows...etc. I'd be willing to sort through e-mail with you to find amusing stuff.

It may or may not get running, depending on how things go. I don't really have the free time right now to start up a website.

So, Codek...how about you have a site with a page that has an e-mail and people can start sending their pictures etc now...then when you have time to start the site, you'll allready have some pictures and stuff to sort through. Just an idea.
