I want to create a new Oddworld themed Web site!
Well I am in the thinking stage of createing a new website about Oddworld and what best now is to come to you guys, fellow Oddworld fans to get suggestions from. What I mainly want to know is how do you get permission from OWI to use Oddworld themed designs? In otherwords those of you who run Oddblog how did you get started with your site? Now my site is mainly going to be based upon fan fiction and art. I want my site to be called "The Odd Gallery" Also there will be a section devoted to Non Oddworld material aswell. The one thing I am not considering is getting a free web space. I don't want stupid advirtisement and im willing to pay and I want it completely my own design. I want to host in The Odd Gallery peoples fanfiction and art sort of like how we do it in Fan Cornor but as a whole website. My website would also be linked to the official website aswell as to here the forums and a number of other favorites.
Do you have any suggestions I can consider when I do this? Like I said I haven't even designed it yet. Its in my head still but I am about to go to the drawing table and start creating designs with paper and pencil and layout the order on how I want each page to go then I will go to the computer and use some designing software. After that getting my site a host and my own designs converted to code and placeing that code somewhere in cyberspace is probabaly my difficulty. So I ask again do any of you have suggestions for me? |

When i first started my site i emailed OWI legal department, the email address is somewhere on the oddworld site. They game me there permission and said if i display this "This site is not officially affiliated with Infogrames or Oddworld Inhabitants in any way; some of these images are borrowed from Oddworld Inhabitants, Inc., and are copyright and ® and/or TM. " I could use their images. I wish you all the best with creating your Oddworld Website. :) Hayley |

They will reply with a set of rules for running the website, to which you must comply with. However, I'd suggest that you contact me with your final choice on the website's name. Well yeah I haven't got the name fully figured out. Oddgallery was something I used a year ago on a free web space in MSN. I am useing it as a place holder at the moment. But yeah you have nothing to worry about I am still conceptualiseing my ideas here so its mainly in its rough stages. As for the purpose of my site it maybe a little more than fanfiction and art.
