Red vs. Blue!

Well, I thought it was about time we had a nice little place to discuss RvB.

This makes absolutely no sense if you haven't seen the popular internet phenomenon, Red vs. Blue.

www.redvsblue.com

So...the second season is really picking up now and the basic plot has been set. Episode 31 is one of the best I've seen in a while. So, Tucker is going to tell the Reds to turn off their radio helmets so the A.I. can't jump to another body while Church and Tex are going inside the mind of Caboose to kill the A.I. This is great stuff. I wonder what's going to happen to Doc in all this?

Discuss!

Ahh, how I love Red vs. Blue. I'm not as crazy about Halo as most people, but I have to say that that is some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen. Whoever does 'em has one hell of a creative mind.

oddguy 04-26-2004 06:49 PM

It's really amazing how much they can do with such a limited game engine. I mean limited in how it would be hard to put emotion into characters that're just bobing their heads up and down, but those guys pull it off.

I think that RvB is one of the best things on the web.
I put them on a disk and showed them to me mates and only one of them didn’t find it funny but he has absolutely no sense of humour.

Fez 04-27-2004 07:42 AM

"the diffinitive Halo disscussion thread" was made for these sort of conversations.

Anyway, i think the blue team is the best. Church's character is SO like mine, and Tuckers personality is also like a friend of mine.

Caboose if without a doubt one of the funniest characters, but Sarge is also great.

I love Red vs. Blue, incredible idea.....

oddguy 04-27-2004 09:54 AM

Yeah, well there's so much Halo 2 talk in that thread that there isn't any room for much RvB discussion. Whenever something RvB was brought up, it was almost immediately covered up with Halo 2 news. Not my idea of a RvB conversation, so that's why I made this nifty little RvB topic. Here we can talk about anything under the RvB sun!

I recently "got into" the whole RvB thing. I'm thinking of buying the Season 1 DVD when I get the cash. They have 2 of my favorite episodes up on the site right now.

"What was the first thing I told you when I got back from Sidewinder?"
"Umm... that it was... cold?"

And when Tex throws a sticky grenade on Donut's head... classic.

"So... it's like a blue spider? That sounds even worse!"

oddguy 04-27-2004 12:49 PM

I have season One on DVD. It's awesome. They have all the episodes cut together continuously so it's like a movie. Also they have PSA's 1-4 and commentary. I hear it has Easter Eggs as well, but I can't find 'em. Pick it up when you have cash. They sell it at Gamestop.

I'm sure you'd enjoy it. The humor is right up your alley. Try it for 30 days and if you don't like it, send it back. But you can keep the monkey torso free as our gift to you.

No. I don't.

oddguy 05-03-2004 10:44 AM

RvB episode 32 just came out yesterday. Twas funny, but I'm wanting those guys to find O'Mally already! Anyway, it was hillarious to see Caboose's version of Church. It also seems that Caboose is smart inside his own mind. Interesting. Your guys thoughts?

-oddguy

SeaRex 05-03-2004 11:04 AM

God, I love that tank.

Hehehe... the "other" Church is friggin' hilarious. Gotta love superfluous swearing! Caboose's mental image of Tucker is great, too.

"Man, I am SO incredibly stupid!"

"I like to eat all the food!"
"I'm gonna go look for girls!"

Hillarious stuff. I wonder what is happening to Doc though...and Simmons! He's gonna be turned into a Cyborg thingy!

-oddguy

Fez 05-04-2004 07:47 AM

Doc was left in the middle og blood gulch, he'll probably go in those caves.

oddguy 05-04-2004 08:40 AM

That's what I thought, but his helmet radio won't be turned off, so O'Mally will probably go into Doc...unless he is warned.

-oddguy

Fez 05-04-2004 08:44 AM

Good plot line there mate. I think we'll see Doc every now and then, just walking around trying to survive. It would be cool if they went into those caves though.

oddguy 05-10-2004 09:41 AM

My prediction was correct! O'Mally has now taken control of Doc!

Dude, that episode was awesome. I loved Caboose's mental images of the red team. The funny thing is...now that O'Mally killed Caboose's memory of Church, Caboose is going to have to get to know Church all over again. Another thing though...what happened to Simmons? I though he was going to get turned into a cyborg thing.

DeBulletDodger 05-10-2004 09:43 AM

Bugger new episode

oddguy 05-10-2004 09:45 AM

It's a long one too. 50mb. It's worth it though. Especially for Lopez's love song!:D

DeBulletDodger 05-10-2004 09:46 AM

NOO dont tell me
You gotta be kidding me its really busy and downloading really really slow.

Fez 05-12-2004 06:53 AM

Currently downloading, Halo 2 vids kinda got in the way.....

oddguy 05-12-2004 08:23 AM

Hurry up and watch...then come back here and we'll talk about it. Me excited! :stare:

-oddguy

Fez 05-13-2004 08:45 AM

Just saw it, We dont know 100% if O'Mally goes into Doc, but ya never know. That was a very funny episode though, with alot more action then normal.

"Argg, I got a southern accent!"

oddguy 05-13-2004 11:05 AM

Another possibility is O'Mally goes into Grif. He was the only other guy with his radio on. But seeing as the camera zoomed right into Doc, it's most likely him.

I love RvB! http://69.93.88.162/forum/images/smiles/cheer.gif

Mac the Janitor 05-24-2004 06:11 PM

Do you have to watch them in order from the first one, or can you just kinda pick it up?

oddguy 05-24-2004 06:55 PM

It's best to watch in order from the beginning. You can pick up the Red vs. Blue Season 1 DVD at Gamestop or Buy Online at the RvB website. Another avenue you might try is taking a look at this link...

http://www.redvsblue.com/bloodgulch_s1.shtml

It's the Season One rolling archive. Right now you're in luck, because it's rolled back to the beginning of the season. Right now you can download episodes 1-6.

The humor is right up your alley, Mac! You're sure to enjoy it. :D

Thank you for joining the RvB cult. We'll be needing your current home address so we can send a missionary by your house, and we can instruct you on RvB philosophy and how you can be a born again RvBian. Yes, through RvB all things are possible. Won't you let it teach you the way to a better life?

Just joking. I got to the bottom of my post and realised that it sounded like I was converting you to some kind of religion. Hence the above paragraph. ;)

Oddguy, I love you and hate you for exposing me to this.

I love you because this is awesome hilarious stuff, and I'm addicted now.

I hate you because I've been watching them instead of studying for my final exams which are in a half hour.

When I started watching RvB...it was insane. I couldn't get anything done. I just kept downloading and watching...downloading and watching. I could only get to 6 episodes through the rolling archive, so after I finished those ones I had to go to fileplanet and wait in line to download the rest. The lines were huge. I had my computer running all day and I averaged about four episodes a day. Finally I finshed Season 1, then it was easy to get Season 2. redvsblue.com keeps all the episodes of the current season up until it's over.

Anyway, which episode are you at? I'm curious.

Cheers! http://69.93.88.162/forum/images/smiles/beer.gif

-oddguy

Facsimile 05-25-2004 11:00 PM

Most of them can also be found on Kazaa. I had four more episodes until I had all of season 1 when they first took them off, making me resort to finding them there. A lot easier to get than on fileplanet as well.

Mac the Janitor 05-26-2004 01:21 PM

Well you guys, I've found out a way to cheat the whole "rolling archive" system.

http://files.redvsblue.com/S1_public...de01_LoRes.zip

Just take this address above and change the "01" to whatever episode you want, and you can get it, no matter if it's up or not. I had to to it cos I only watched 1-4, and now they're at 6.

oddguy 05-26-2004 01:45 PM

I've done that before on other sites with missing links. I've also done it with the OW website. Just enter the month and year and you can get any Dear Alf they don't have archived.

http://www.oddworld.com/alf/ow_dearalf10_03.html

You won't find this linked up on the website. ;)

Big_Bro_Slig222 05-26-2004 03:31 PM

The vids don't work. When I load them they just coem up as a Media-player and all I get is audio.

Facsimile 05-26-2004 06:18 PM

What type did you download? If it was the Divx one you will need the Divx Codecs on your computer to view them.
