Ah, thankyou Atusi! :fuzzle:

And say thanks to Mr. Shin from all of us here at the Oddworld Forums. It's great that he still, after a whole year, did that for us :)

Mr. Shin is now my major love interest. ;) We actually got to see some new screens of the Stranger CG Intro in the background as well. I believe pic 2 is the Salamander graveyard...and pic 3 is that wild fuzzle and awrapnid getting hit with the rock. Mmmmm, sexy. I'll update OWW soon.

I'm wondering what that little map thing is about.

It looks like it might say "Steefs".

*shrug*

oddguy 04-14-2004 07:20 PM

It's a map of California and it says "San Luis Opispo." It has an arrow pointing to OWI HQ.

Mac the Janitor 04-14-2004 07:22 PM

Oh, gotcha.

Damn.

I was hoping it was like, something cool.

*cries*

Great pics, Atusi! Mr Shin has done OWF a great service. Like Alcar says, extend the entire Forums' thanks to him.

Not much to add on the content front. Do the Fuzzle and Bolamite appear to be at the foot of a flagstone to you?

Sekto Springs 04-15-2004 04:33 AM

The fuzzle looks a little different from the last game, it looks fatter and the eye's are perfectly round unlike the older fuzzle design which had more egg-shaped eyes. I love the dark atmosphere of the graveyard, It reminds me of AO and the stockyards at night, and that bolamite looks even cooler in CG :)

Alcar 04-15-2004 04:35 AM

I think it was Sapphire who suggested it was because the Fuzzle was in the wild, where it could hunt naturally, unlike being kept in a cell on Vykkers Labs.

I wonder who the inhabitant at the booth is?

Whoever she was, Mr. Shin took some really bad pictures of her. :p Poor Inhabitant. :(

Oy, and just so I don't seem ungrateful...

Thank You Mr. Shin! :D

Mr. Shin is very kind to take those pichures!:)

The intro movie looks very interesting.

Di$array 04-15-2004 10:45 AM

am still a newbie here, but who is Mr.Shin ?????

Oddish 04-15-2004 10:54 AM

Some japanese guy named Mr. Shin.

Nate 04-15-2004 12:30 PM

very helpful oddfish.

In the 2nd pic, is the Bolamite on the face of a dead Salamander? Or a sculpture perhaps? Or is it something else entirely?

Sekto Springs 04-15-2004 03:40 PM

My guess is that it's a statue or sculpture, I don't think it's a real Salimander though. It could be a dead one I s'pose but it looks as if it was turned to stone or something.

oddguy 04-15-2004 06:17 PM

It does look like it's stone. I just thought that since Stranger is in a Sal graveyard that it was a dead Sal. It could be some sort of gravmarker or headstone of somekind. But the awrapnid crawling on the face gives me a feeling that the thing is dead.

-oddguy

Alcar 04-15-2004 07:40 PM

I'd say they are statues, and in the third image it looks like the Bolamite and Fuzzle are standing at the bottom of a statue base. The "Sal" head, I would presume is a statue in the graveyard.

Alcar...

Xavier 04-15-2004 11:46 PM

I do agree with alcar...
the Sal head coud be on a gravestone or something, maybe Max could ask Sapph... :p

Sekto Springs 04-16-2004 06:05 AM

Saph also said there was a big rib cage in the movie, possibly like the ones in MO that brought up lots of discussion. I could understand a rib cage being in a graveyard, I wonder if those bones play any importance.

Xavier 04-16-2004 06:20 AM

the bones in AE did ;)

but I can't see the role a huge rib cage can play...
and it don't seem to be in the graveyard to me

Esus 04-16-2004 06:21 AM

I think the thing that the bolamite is upon is a grave/tombstone with a salamander head as it's decorative top part.

*wants to know what salamanders are actually called*

Sekto Springs 04-16-2004 06:24 AM

:

*wants to know what salamanders are actually called*

The only other name they referred to them as was "Natives".

And Xav....
I doubt they play an important role, I was just wondering. But still, we've seen and discussed alot about those large skeletons and I just thought that maybe the creature they belonged to would make an appearance in this game.

Xavier 04-16-2004 09:06 AM

like the ribcages we can see in the AO intro movie...
from what animal do they come from?
:p

Wil 04-16-2004 11:12 AM

lol, yes, they do seem to be a continuing trend. Someone once said the ribcages seen at the very start of AE look too big to be a Mudokon's, but I haven't bothered to check it myself.

I'd quite like it to continue a mystery, actually. It could take the place of the mystery of how Abe's Moon formed, which was answered following Lorne saying it would never be answered. :p We have to have something to speculate about, after all - even if we have already done so a dozen times.

Nate 04-18-2004 01:34 PM

:

:p

which ribcages do you mean? I assume you don't mean the ones in necrum cos those would be mudokon ribcages.

EDIT: I just noticed something in those pics. The movies are in widescreen, like the ones in AO. The ones in AE and MO were full screen.

You're right! Awesome! Widescreen is back! ( I hope it is at least. ;) )

*dances a little jig*

-oddguy

Mac the Janitor 04-18-2004 05:19 PM

Really? I don't remember AO being widescreen.

Oh well, I'm dumb.

Alcar 04-18-2004 05:57 PM

The rib cages they are referring to in the Abe's Oddysee opening movie, are those of the animals being processed at Rupture Farms. Like the ones you see on the conveyer belt, with the Mudokons operating the many levers.

Alcar...

Xavier 04-19-2004 08:15 AM

there are lots of those Rib Cages falling everywhere (mostly on mudokons) in RuptureFarms :p

Nate 04-19-2004 12:21 PM

Yeah, sorry. Both you and I wrote AO but I was thinking AE for some reason

*bangs head on desk. Hard*

Oww!... I mean yeah, I had wondered about the ribcages in AO also.
