Glukons
Hey!There is one question for you:how Glukons have create Rupture Farms and Soul Storm?:D
|
Probably by getting Sligs to operate heavy lifting machiney like cranes, but nobody knows for sure.
|
But why Sligs help them, they can beat Glukons.Glukon say:Hey.Come here. And Sligs go to them. Why Sligs wantn't kill them? Why?
|
Glukkons have kinda like bought sligs from Skillya, the slig queen, and besides sligs would be nothing without their guns and pants, which they get from glukkons.
|
Oh,Ijust forgot that the Glukkons gave guns to Sligs. You say:Sligs queen help to Glukkons?(I didn't understand,I'am russian. Please post me an answer.OK?)
|
I have understand!

don't dubble post, use the Edit button...
and for those kind of little questions ask them in the Oddworld Questions and Answers have a nice day :fuzwink: |
But wait, why do Interns obey Vykkers?I don't think there is a Intern queen.
|
if the sligs do have weapons and the glukkons don't, why the sligs don't kill the glukkons?
.:VaniLLaKiLLah:. |
Interns might get paid to work. Just a guess.
|
Interns are depending of the pills the Vykkers give them...
|
I think CarboN (who has a swingin' dancing Abe avatar, BTW) is right: the sligs can't really do anything without the guns and pants the Glukkons give them. Plus, they've been sold by the slig queen. Plus, they're just too stupid to have an idea like revolting. Interns, I think, are paid, and/or are dependent on the drugs they steal when raiding drug cabinets.
P.S. Ever notice how some species' names are capitalized, and some aren't? Like, Glukkon and Mudokon are capitalized all the time, but slig isn't? Maybe it's because the sligs don't really have a culture or civilization. Maybe Glukkon and Mudokon are as much the names of nations as they are the names of the species. Just my thoughts. |

|
Maybe they get injections of the drugs they need. What do Interns need Vykker drugs for anyway?
-oddguy :fuzcool: |
I dont think they need drugs but they rely on drugs to keep at their work.
I figure that vykkers, being the scum that they are, gave interns the addictive drugs and promised them more and more if they do as commanded. |
:
Yeah that would make sense because the Glukkons did the same thing with Mudokons just to a crueler extent in tricking them them to "work" for more brew. |
:
EDIT: As for Interns' loyalty, it may simply be a case of loyalty. They've been described as finks, and we should all know that they're not at all smart creatures, so maybe like Sligs they simply don't come up with the idea of revolting. They haven't exactly got nasty jobs, anyway. :

Sligs obey Glukkons because they are forced to. Forced by what is the question because for one glukkons can't do anything except ordering around with their threatening voice. Something would have to phisically carry out that order that the glukkon made to make the slig do his job and be loyal. Possiably Khanzumers or something we don't understand yet. maybe some kind of wierd technology that will hurt them if they don't follow orders. Or the sligs are just loyal to the Glukkons. That is cool!
Mann Oddworld is getting stranger and stranger as we move forward. These questions get deeper and deeper ya know? Its fascinateing to theorise about these things and then later find out that its even stranger than what we thought. Its been like thats since day 1. Paramiteabe... :fuzblink: |
:
But then it's OWI's decision, and what they say goes, so who are we to argue? ;) :
(Ever spoken to an old lady about their tablets, there seems to be a proliferation of "little white pills". And when they're on nine different sorts it's hell figuring out which "little white pill" they mean, as they're ALL small, round, and white... Gr) :
|
Maybe sligs get free food from RuptureFarms. Plus, what would they do anyway without legs? They wouldn't do much would they. What would the queen do if a bunch of Glukkons came and told the Sligs to work for them? She couldn't do much to help.
|
Well, I think that Glukkons enslaved Mudokons before Rupture Farms and SoulStorm Brewery. I can imagine that Mudokons built these places. I mean, they were forced to build them.
Sligs... Well, we know that bad Sligs are taken to Skillya, and then... Well, that's what we don't know yet. Maybe Sligs are afraid of the queen, and they do as they are told. |

Glukkon offer sligs easy lives...
why would the sligs rebel against the Glukkons? |
yeah, good point. Free scrab-cakes, the power to yell at and beat as many muds as you like and pants. That would be a dream life to a slig. Especially as the alternative would be slithering around a swamp living on whatever creepy-crawly that couldn't run away fast enough.
|
I would have thought that if it was the Glukon form of 'free', then there would usually be a big price tag on it with so many zero's, you couldn't count them.
:
Hmm.... |
wouldnt it just be a nice story twist... that in the last quinto game the sligs the revelt and that suddenly they are on your side? The Magog Cartel will be overtrown and we all live happely ever after.
Thinking about it... it doesnt even seem like such a bad story line. Knowing the mind of Lorne just a little... But we will just have to wait and see :(. |
Hi everyone for this long time, sorry, but I'm worked. Sorry. Okay, I think, the Interns worked to Vykkers, because Vykkers give weapons and superb armors to interns. Good idea
|
they also give them drugs...
so Interns have to work if they want the drugs... |
Right! Godd Idea for Vykker and Interns.
|
I'm not sure about the Sligs overthrowing the Glukkons. It seems feasible, but then where would that leave the Glukkons? Abe's quest is to restore balance to Oddworld, not just tip the scales towards the natives' pan.
Interns are like the reclusive stoners of society, slipping into their private worlds of drugs and techno music. You can just imagine that kind of person, with a stubborn attitude towards the ways of others. Obnoxious, but a fantastic way of life to play off. That's why Interns fascinate me so much. In a way I hope there's an Intern queen. Super species is meant to be the predominant reproductive model on Oddworld, but barely half of all known creatures use such a method. |

I have faith in OWI to come up with a story that makes sense. Here we're assuming things do get sorted out. To me, a Slig revolt is as corny as a sudden diplomatic peace.
|
I'm sure most of this has been explained on official sites? Sligs work for weapons and pants, they are technically owned by the Glukkons, so revolting would just stop them getting maintenance for their stuff (which I'm sure they need) and ammo. Plus they're supposed to love being cruel to those lower than them, right?
Interns work for the drugs because they like them (and probably eventually get hooked) and because they enjoy being cruel too. (y'know on the Oddworld Newspaper thing where theres that lil article about 'Interns bizarre Fuzzle beating' in which it talks about an Intern who like the Fuzzles and treats them well and all the others think he's weird? or something along those lines... lol) And the whole how did glukkons build all these factories etc. , well think about it, how did we build all these factories and huge buildings and stuff? It took ages! Oddworld's probably gone through the same kind of phases earth has, from Glukkons in Mud huts, to an industrial revolution, and just evolved like that. It would probably be hard to exactly pin-point the time where the present command structure and inter-race relations were formed, because they probably happened over decades, or hundereds of years, I mean, look how long it took for total racism to be changed (not that some @ssholes arent still racists...) |
Oddworld certainly has a lot of history which has brought Glukkons and other industrial families from their uncivilisated ways to the technocratic society they are now. It's important to remember, however, that the inhabitants are highly resiliant to change, so while our industrial revelution started 150-200 years ago, Glukkons have been using precisely the same fat-power train technology for over a century. Progress is just slow for them.

Yeah, sligs may get some native pants running off spooce and ... erm... butterflies.
Somehow I don't think so. |
haha... you never know... Oddworld get stranger by the minute!
|
I just have a theory regarding sligs.
Mabye their masks have a sort of manipulating chip in it and that makes them do what ever a Glukon says. Just a theory. |
