Gah! Slow forums!
 

THe forums are running EXTREMELY slow for me right now. Heck, this is worse than 56K... Anyways, my internet is working fine for all other sites, and my computers not slow itself.

I'm jsut wondeirng, is this a problem for anyone else, or is there some sort of problem now?

I've noticed it's been going slower as well. And the other day something weird was going on with Abe Babe's sig. It was all over the place in different spots. Part of it was on the 'reply' button and some more of it was above random avatars. Very strange.

Yeah, It's slow here too on my 150k...

It was ever so slightly slow for me yesterday, but then my entire connection has been slow. I probably missed it.

It must be back to normal, as on 56k it's running at it's usual pace. Concerning the images out of place oddguy, that is a problem with vBulletin and the server.

I'll attach a funny screen print of when paramiteabe's banner took the place of an image, some time ago.

When did that happen? hehe that was funny. anyway nothings been happening to me here. But Then again I havent been on that much in the last few days.

It's now running at normal speed for me, but the background and header image are pretty screwed up. I'll get a screenshot.

EDIT: It's all fixed now. Damn, I can't add attachments. Silly edit post thing.

Hmm... it just started running slow for me.

Ah, I had forgotten what the sting of 56K felt like...

Isn't that the old forum scheme Sydney had? Did PA have that banner back then, or are you holding out on a layout with us:p

That was one of Sydney's old layouts. I was testing it, but that picture was taken ages ago... Back in January.

Sydney has given us permission to use the old layouts, but whether or not we do han't been discussed with Abe Babe.

Look at the dates presented in the image. All the dates on the forums state it was January 2003.

Yeah I wish I would have taken some screenshots too, when some of the avatars were showing up for several different buttons, such as replacing the reply images.:fuzwink:

It's still going slow for me. Loading the reply page took about a thousand hours.

also for me, darn its just too bad

It's working pretty much fine for me now.

There's still an occasional super long load time for a page though.

Here it goes again. PA's banner has taken over zee forums! Odd help us!:eek: Oh, and the forums are loading even slower than before.......for mwah that is.

I was using my moms old ghetto computer, and every single picture was replaced by some banner ad for a movie or play or something. All the links and such were gone too, and refreshing didn't work. It was damned strange.

Hopefully when we upgrade to vBulletin 3 the image problem will stop persisting in annoying us. The slow loading times will be sorted soon.

Forum speed is nearly at norm now for me.

i dont have any img prob only some texts shuffled here or there.

I was thinking something was wrong wif my internet connection... it was cable and still loading slow for the forums.... but now its faster now:)

Yes under special circumstances am i back. My comp just got fix last night and i'm sick thats why i'm not at school and staring at the computer screen playing ffx...

Ah! Yes, it could be a cache issue. Then that'd mean it's our computer's fault as well as the server. Unless the server has it's own cache system, and is presenting us with the wrong cached images.

But I'm not a server guru, so I'm only guessing.

(I use Ctrl + F5 myself :p)

Lately the only time it loads up fairly slow, is when I first access the page for the first time during the day. Every time I come back in the same day it loads up fairly fast.

The forums are running pretty normal for me right now - the only problem I'm having is the one Al mentioned. When it'll first load the main page it'll take a really long time. But other than that, I don't really notice much of a difference.

Oh god, it's much worse for me now 3 minutes to load a reply page. *cries into bindle*
