Homework, is it legal?

Hi peeps! I have actual proof that homework is indeed, illegal! According to some law number blah blah blah, the use of cruel or unusual punishment is not allowed. We spend 7 hours at school a day, and when we finally get to the comfort and privacy of our home, we have to sit down and waste our time doing MORE work. This is punishment. It is cruel. It is unusual. It's illegal. I say we inform our government about what the school is doing. If we are so dumb that we can't learn what we need in 7 hours, then we need a longer school day. Or at least elliminate all the dumb people at birth. Thank you for wasting your hard earned time here.

Cruel and Unusual punishment as in... clipping electrodes to some guys balls, and then shoving his face in piss (Bleed For Me!)... not extra Algebra problems.

I can't wait to hear what you say when you have to balance work, school, social life, and homework...

Disgruntled Intern 09-14-2003 11:19 PM

Oddling, you're an idiot.

I mean, seriously. Like Luke said, homework is not exactly cruel, nor unusual. As for it being punishment? Jesus, take your head out of your ass so that you can see the true purpose of homework....To ensure you understand what you're doing/studying.

Stop whining, and drop your delusional views, pussy.

Hehe... that made me happy and gay. Hehe...

Homework isn't punishment at all, so it can't even be put up for consideration with your argument. Though I do cary an uncanny hatred towards Algebra II. and Biology. And Global Experience.

oddguy 09-14-2003 11:31 PM

I do all my work at home...I'm home-schooled.:fuzblink:

You so do!

I'm the one that doesn't do my homework, bar assessment tasks. Hence the reason I'm failing Advanced Mathemactics! Woo, good thing I don't give a crap about Maths!

Oh, and I have a Mathematics exam tomorrow. I'm going to have to study all that lovely, lovely stuff. Oh, and that PD/H/PE assessment task due tomorrow...

Alcar...

Facsimile 09-15-2003 08:38 AM

Studying? No. I don't know, I guess I just don't need to study. I still get higher marks than most.

Yes, but my Maths is shocking ;) It's the only subject I need to study to get a reasonable mark, and even then that reasonable mark is crap :p

Pfft you cant study for english, and thats where all my marks are crap at. Also you need to study history and geography... so annoying...

paramiteabe 09-15-2003 12:31 PM

Yea of course Homework seems pointless for you now but when you get to college it is a very, infact its the most important thing if you want to suceed to a career that you really and truely want. But when your in college you take the classes that you enjoy which go to your career thats whats different. Its not all pointless shit your takeing now its what you want to take which makes College different. Homework and school eventually turns into more of job training type work when you get to College. But when your in elementary and Middle school and High School its all crap really but not when your in College its the most important tool to have seriously. I can guarantee you that.

So if you want a career and you want to make a lot of money someday then you should just do your homework. Its a bunch of Bullshit now yea,
but somewhere down the line your going to be greatful that you did your homework because it could mean a promotion one day for you. For everybody that is. I tell you the truth mann. Because look at it this way. What if your on the job and this is your career and your boss wants you to complete some important documents that need to be done by the next day or an illustraition in my case. Well that means your job is giveing you homework. And if you don't do it, well in the real world your boss will be like "Your Fired!" Then you will be out of a job you won't be able to support a family or a house and you will become very poor and eventually turn into a bum on the street. Nobody will hire you because that very record of you being fired sticks with you and looks really bad when Employers look at that. You will be working at McDonalds for the rest of your life if you get any job that is. Believe me they look at your record And they do look. If you want that then be my guest but I would reconsider your arguement. Just helping you out mann.

PA, did you really think we needed a two paragraph re-itteration of what everyone has basically said?

Do me a favor, and read what everyone else has said in the thread before you try to make a meaningful post.

Mac, I'd kiss you, but I am rather ill. That is my excuse for this foul mood.

paramiteabe 09-15-2003 03:01 PM

Yep actually I did:D

Nath 09-15-2003 05:40 PM

Me never did homework or did i do work inside of the school. English was the worst lesson that we all had to study when we came to the days of the exams i thinked that i was doing another lesson.

OANST 09-16-2003 01:39 AM

What the hell happened here? Can't you people see that he was kidding? Are you all really this arrogant that you will take the first chance you get to knock anyone down without even looking closely enough to see that it's a joke? Jesus Christ people! Leave poor Oddling alone you pretentious turds. I'm done. Thank you for your time.

Math is the only subject that gives me trouble. Everything else I'm cool with.

Oh, and I agree with old and not so tasty. Notice I didn't say any rude things to Oddling.:fuzwink:

-oddguy:fuzcool:

Majic 09-16-2003 03:31 AM

Math is creepy for me. I'm one of 2 freshmen in my Algebra II. Theres even a kid who knew my brother (my brother graduated last year) in my class. Yup. Creepy.

Disgruntled Intern 09-16-2003 02:25 PM

Old and Not so Tasty, as great as I think you are, piss off.

Oddling has a history of saying stupid things like this. Joking or not, it's far from amusing.

It's a great example of how spoiled some children are. I mean, they're so used to being able to do whatever they want, and get everything handed to them on a silver platter, that they see a simple task such as homework being 'cruel and unusual punishment'.

And for the record, yes; I am that arrogant.

Reptile 09-16-2003 06:18 PM

Exactly how arrogant. I think arrogance is a turn on :p

OANST 09-16-2003 09:28 PM

Howsabout I piss off in your mouth? Just kidding. Maybe. Anyways if you can't see both sides of the picture because of your dislike for him than maybe you shouldn't read or post in his threads. Just a thought you pissy little pisser. Kidding again. Maybe.

Disgruntled Intern 09-16-2003 10:43 PM

Kidding or not, you amuse me.

OANST 09-16-2003 10:50 PM

I amuse you? I AMUSE YOU? oh. cool.

It's when I hear kids complain about cleanin' their room is when I get pissed off. I started working with my Dad painting houses on the weekends at 10.......I know what work is.

homework has been a sin since Merlin created it.

if you listen in school you dont need homework, but i dont listen in school or do my homework. tell you the truth, i dont give a damn what my teachers say, most of them never graduated college neither.

oddguy 09-17-2003 12:25 AM

Grig told me you went to robot camp, so you are a very bright lad, no?

Sekto Springs 09-17-2003 12:28 AM

yea, i built a 300 foot tall Gundam that destroyed Kyoto.

paramud 09-17-2003 02:37 AM

I hate home work too... I mean why should I do several hours if work that I don't like I mean I may be good at math but that doesn't mean I like it!

paramiteabe 09-17-2003 02:59 PM

I am considered a procrastinator. I tend to wait for the last minute to do my work. And I pass with flying colors!:D

Rex Tirano 09-17-2003 03:28 PM

Sure all kids hate homework, I do. But I get on and do it cos i wanna have a good life. And If I don't, spend my valuble time in a detention. Talk about bad luck.
I do my homework at last minute, and I always get good grades (I sound american hehe) Its one of hose thing, my friends all study for a test, I don't. I end up getting better scores than them.

I guess I'm just lucky ^_^

Same here. The only subject I have to do work for ahead of time rather than at the last minute is History. However, Maths is the only subject I need to study, as I mentioned beforehand.

Cloverfield 09-18-2003 10:48 AM

I always hated maths also. Damn evil stuff that it is. But I never studied. I found I done better on exams if I didn't study, or I just studied for 1/2 hour the night before. My friends would study for hours.

Not true. Even when I was in primary school, we had teachers who would hand out homework for everyone, regardless of whether you were a nerd or a slacker or inbetween. It was meant to be "homework".

I don't know, they give you enough stuff to do at school, yet alone make you lose all your free time by doing more.

At least I don't get homework anymore. ;)

Ditto. I usually study a few hours the night before an exam. However, once again, I'll commence my Mathemactics a week or so beforehand - and still end up with a worthless mark ;)

Although, these coming school holidays will see me madly studying in preperation for my end of year exams, and then my School Certificate.

What fun *starts crying*

Reptile 09-21-2003 02:51 PM

I however do not? Wheres the humour in that anyway?

Majic 09-21-2003 05:14 PM

As in, you study history ahead of time. And not when it happens... or something. I sort of get it, but being the dumbass I am, I laughed.

Alcar 09-22-2003 04:59 AM

Oh, finally. Some intelligent people understood my joke.
