Do you believe in god?
 

Well I wanted to start off a ne topic but I had no ideas. So I went looking for popular old topics. And I found his one and I had a look. Why don't you? Anyway My beliefs are that there is probably something like god. But it is mostly just a human feeling that thre is actually a person or animal up there. I think that 'god' i a safety net for people who feel insecure. But I'm not to sure myself. Maybe somehing exsists, maybe like the matrix the world dosn't exsist.

What do you think? And If I have offended anyone I'm sorry.

As a Catholic I balieve in the existant of God. He exist within
everyone of us. Even the ones who don't have faith in him. Because he loves all of us. He is like our father who when we sin we come to him like a child to a parent. Weather you like it or not. And it is through God in which we are saved. Science doesnt disprove of the existance it only proves the existance of God to be more real than ever before.

God exist throughout the entire Universe because he's not a person. God is a spirt represented through the Holy trinaty, The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirt who never had a beginning nor will ever have an ending. We as humens just cannot comprehend the nature of God. Only when we die we will understand everything.

Take this for an example: What are your pashions in life or blessings? Imagine that in a scope of infanity. Thats what happens when you know God. When you die and go to heaven or what ever exist beyond death its not an everlasting worshiping service when your in heaven it is your talents and traits made devine through the love of God. So basically all your talents and traits you possess all come from God because he is all that is good. Think of God like a big Christmas gift not a reward a gift out of love. Now I am not trying to prove anything here and all of this is what I respectively balieve in simply. I understand we all have our own baliefs and thats whats important. Ill leave it at that.

I did, but then my boyfriend type peep told me about his beliefs which did sound better. His beliefs is that when we die we go into the Earths Soul. Where we will be reborn and such like in a different world. He's a Wiccan and so he believes in all that stuff, plus its nice believing that Magick is real and you can manipulate it and such like.

When i have kids im just gonna tell the whole Heaven and Hell thing as a bedtime story but make it less black and white. And have it so Lucifer is working with God or something like that.

One of his other beliefs is that when we die we turn into what he want to turn into, Vampire, Fairie etc. Which is something else that makes dying interesting.

One of my theories is (not a serious one, just one i hope is true) is that we go into the Earths Soul and when Earth is consumed by the Sun, our Souls scatter out throughout the universe, land on dead planets and then we are the God of that planet and such like.

I think the Earths Soul thing is much more plausible then God. Due to the fact that Wiccans and Pagens etc take advantage of the Earths power by doing their spells etc. I've done Witchcraft before and some of the spells did work (although it could have been coincidence) and that to me means there is more proof of Wicca etc then there is of God.

This is a good topic I only hope it dosen't turn into one of the ones where someone offends someone and it gets all crazy. Anyways, as for my belifs... well of course I belive in God but I have taken the religion I am in (Christianity) and just shifted it to some of my aspects. Like how everyone says that there's no such thing as evolution? Well I think thats bull, there is to much proof pointing other wise. In my religion they always say that "God works in mysterious ways..." and I belive that evolution could just be one of these ways, along with other ideas that I have.

Evolution was created by God. How do we grow? Through evolution.

Right now its a theory in science same goes for all sciences. There is never anything absolute except God. The way we will know is when we die. And we all some day are going to die.

Here is something to think about. If only a person could die and stay dead for a month then be able to come back to life through a certain type of technology that we created like resurection totems, then and only then we would finally have an eye wittness on what really lies beyond death. Won't that be something?

I do not believe in God. As if there is such a great force then why do people suffer? Why is there disease, hunger, and moths (I have a fear ok?!).
I fully believe in ghosts, but strangely I truely doubt there is an afterlife. I think you die and that's it. Your dead. Not even darkness. Nothing.
Heaven and hell: Who decides what is good or bad? People who steal may think it's right for them to have what they take. Euthenasia, is it right or wrong in this holy judgement?
But basically, as PA said, there is not a single way, and there never will be, a way of knowing.

Ghosts are people whom didnt go into the Earths Soul and lingered for some reason...alledgedly.

Why do that though? Thats never going to be possible, through Religious people saying "Oh no, dont do that!!" etc. etc. Why not just do a Ouija board and ask the thing you contact.

With my b/f's reasoning Demons are also real. Which is another reason why i think his theory is better.

If God is real then what is Magick?

If God is real then Magic isn't real. There is a misunderstanding on what the power of God is and what Magic is. Magic is something man created through being scared of what the unknown brings so we created an idea of power (Magic) and use that to explan things when it all really came from God. The power of God is pretty much mother nature.

It is just something Humans can't possably comprehend because its so complex.

The reason there is desease and violence and all this bad stuff in our world is not because of God its because of our free will to live. God gave us that free will and we took that Freedom to do things that otherwise God hates. Because we were easily tempted into it. So its not that God makes these things happen it is us. God lets it happen to be more like a lesson for us to learn. Lets just say we were punished and all of that bad stuff is the punishment. But its not Gods faught its our faught pretty much.

Lol. The same can be said about God being created becayse man is scared. Magic has been around alot longer than God and such like. It was practiced immensly early and then some people came up with God and the Devil and such like

Also, if Magick is God, why does he do bad stuff with it? I know people who have harmed others with Magick and used it for their own needs. Obviously the rule of 3 kicks in later on, but still, why does he harm people?

If it is so uncomprehendable then why can you comprehend it? If humans can't comprehend it how do they know of it? How could they think of it?
Perhaps the thing that is so complex to comprehend is that there is nothing. No one watching over us. Perhaps human brains have to create something to feel secure with themselves. Something greater than them. To rule there lost little selves. People want to know why we are here, so they come up with something that they think will tell them in the end, so everything is explained.
And as you, PA, have pretty pointed out: no one knows if there is a god or not.
So why do seem so damn sure?

God is an alien that had the technology to start life! I dunno about heaven and hell though, makes no sence.

God is a myth, used to bring hope to humans. Which it does, but it was taken too far, and has lead to what it is now.

In my humble (very, very humble) opinion, Church is a form of brainwashing. You take a kid who grew up in a place where people are regularly killed, he'll be mroe accustomed to killing/death and the like. Send a kid to church at a young age, they'll grow up being accustomed to God and the like.

Also, I really don't enjoy thinking that theres someone else "inside" of me.

And again, also, if there IS some sort of supreme beingish thing, we're never going to know about it. For all we know, the "God" people have come to know and love could be laughing at all the people who blindly put there faith in him for things because they either need a form of hope/are brainwashed. Thats actually a very pleasant thought.

I know these things because I let God influence my life. A man or women who has God in his or her life will understand through time and through his knolwledge. Its just a blessing. There are things I don't understand still but I balieve in those things through my faith in God. And in time God will show me what and how those things are. And its that faith which makes me balieve in him makes me spirtually strong. People who don't balieve in him can't possiably understand what its all about.

Ok, this has pissed me off for a long time now. The word is "believe". There is no 'a'. None at all. Not to be getting at you or anything it's just every single time you say this word (and you use it a lot) you spell it wrong.

Back to the other thing.
So what your saying is people who believe in god, have better things happen to them? This is bull, people get treated the same in life no matter what they think.
And if god "loves us forever" or whatever, then how does hell come into the story? Why would anyone be there if he forgives all sins?
A criminal has a better backing-themselves-up story than religion.

If he feels that the defendant was brought to Hell wrongly he may send them back upto Earth to have another shot at life. Other punishments include mining, creating new rooms in Hell and, the ever-feared, cleaning Oblivion's lair. If you have been in Hell for a long time and show some improval in your behavior and aura, then you may be entitled to earn your goodness by entertaining the other Demons (not to be mistaken for convicts) in Hell. This includes dancing, singing and comedy...

wot i say about all this is dat there is some sort of god and there was a person called jesus.but jesus was not exactly the son of god.i belive he did not come back (resurected) but only did a few miricals.now about da god bit it says god created us but it did not say outta wot.we were not created by god!as fort the 7 sins i dont follow em they r very hard things 2 try and not 2 do take envy basicly saying u cant be jelouse ok jelousey is not good but i mean every body is jelouse @ some point in there life.but i belive there is some sort of god.

There was an episode of Charmed once (if you don't know that TV show, go blow something) where the witches were possessed by some of the deadly Sins. It was quite entertaining, because the one who got lust kept on trying to have sex with people...

I believe in Christianity. I believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I try to live my life according to how the Bible says to. Unlike most people, I'm serious when I say that... which is hard, especially in today's world. I think todays society is messed up, but that includes myself. I think most other "christians" are stuck up and exploit "righteousness" to sell crappy emo music. Religion isn't entertainment and when those two come hand in hand I tend to be skeptical of a persons true faith.

I don't believe in evolution. Partly because of my religion but also because a scientist once knocked a whole bunch of wholes in evolution by using scientific facts. I think evolution is more of a faith than a science and I know people who have studied this and could back me up with some hard scientifiv evidence.

I also know a lot of archeological evidences which at the very least, support the reality of people such as Moses, Joshua and other Bible characters and events.

Now theres the only part of the Bible that I believe, as I have also heard of this. I don't say that these people never existed, I just say that they didn't have all these magical powers and the like.

I think the bible was generally a book of fables written in the gospel theme to keep people in check. While it may have some authenticity, it's probably more of a 'actions and consequences' story book.

Just try and imagine that some huge immortal being is up in the sky that loves every living thing in the universe. There are 7,000,000,000 people on earth alone. You think he has the time to talk to us and love us all, even if he does exist?

If there would be one, people like Adolf Hitler or Osama bin Laden would've never been born and the world would be a happy, shiny, place with no wars, pain and hunger.

Church is just a one way for the goverment to tax you.
They fool people to believe in something that doesn't exist and then they can tax you from cradle to grave. After when you're dead, they tax your closest relatives for the maintenance of your burial place. Spiffy ain't it?

Hitler isn't any different from George Bush. Hitler wanted better for his people, and Bush wants better for the Iraqi's (*cough* lies *cough*). And so what if a few people die in between? I mean, if it's bad for Hitler to do it, why isn't it bad for Bush?

There's a difference between a genocide and casualties of war.

I know, but in the end they are all deaths. Besides, evidence now shows that Hitler might not have been the one to make all those genocidal decisions happen.

Hitler's goal was to better his people by getting rid of the Jews.

Bush's goal is to better his wallet by getting rid of the Iraqi Government.

*Sigh* I don't think Hitler really wanted to better his people, just to better his life. If you think about it he also killed lots of own soilders if they didn't do what he comanded and much more in the war alone. Hitler was just afraid of being ignored while he took over so he created a faulty cause, which was to kill all the Jews and rid the world of them.

Now I know many of you don't belive in god, and I respect each and everyone of ya's. But, if you would just try and asking God to help you in something (something thats not to over emphazied, like winning a million dollars and the such) and your really mean it it'll, or should happen. Most of you seem to like death and the such but then when you hear about Bush starting a war you all get pissed.

Now don't get peeved at me, Im just stating my opinion and hope. I do think most of you here are great people and some of the nicest I've met in my life, so please don't take any of this personally....:fuzsmile:
