A Song to Represent You

If you had a song that you would say either represented you (i.e. your character or personality) or part of your life what would it be?

For me it would be either Endless Love, Endless Road or Melodies of Life. Both of these songs have great meaning for me, especially Endless Love, Endless Road.

"Dude Looks Like A Lady" by Aerosmith...

paramiteabe 10-14-2002 12:13 PM

Hmm a song that would represent me. Well a couple songs represent me and they are Strange Days, The End, Imagine. All these songs represent me Strange Days and The End were written by Jim Morrison and Imagine was John Lennon.

Jacob 10-14-2002 04:58 PM

Well, i dont think of it as representing me...i think of it as my theme song. And i have the following...

'Walk like a man' - ??

'The moment i wake up' (The one that follows on with 'Before i put on my make-up') - That picture

'Hakkuna Mattata' - Lion King

'Wish you were here' - Incubus

'Back that ass up' - Big Gay Al

The song i believe represents me isssss...

'Surfacing' - Slipknot

As you can see, i am a very troubled child...

Freak On a Leash by Korn

ZombieX 10-14-2002 11:30 PM

Oh My God! I cannot believe I am reading this post today!!!! Okay, so I'm so excited because of our English master today but never mind.

"Disarm"

I find I relate better personally to stories and satirical parodies... as well as proverbial things, but that just shows what a moron I am. (oops - nearly put mormon there - that could have had nasty consequences!)

Oddness 10-15-2002 05:47 AM

I've never been able to find a song that represents me, but this one describes a small part of me very accurately for the words of another - it's called "Ocean Soul" by Nightwish. I'll post a few of the lyrics, since you're unlikely to have heard it:

...Crying for me was never worth a tear...
My lonely soul is only filled with fear.

Losing emotion...
Finding devotion...
Should I dress in white and search the sea...?
As I always wished to be... One with the waves...
Ocean Soul.

I only wished to become something beautiful...
Through my music, through my silent devotion.

Buzzbomb -Dead Kennedys (People who prefer the company of cars instead of people should be shot.)
9/11 for Peace -Anti-Flag
Bulls on Parade -Rage Against the Machine
The Way I Feel -Rancid (One of my least favorite Rancid songs, though.)
Beat on the Brat -The Ramones

salty pretzils 10-18-2002 04:52 PM

Erm...Torn, by Natalie Imbruglia.
:(
Well..that just about sums me up at the moment.

Alcar 10-18-2002 09:08 PM

I used to love Torn, I'd listen to it being played on the radio and TV lots.

Although it's been quite a long time since i've heard it :(

'Loco' by Coal chamber.

[it makes no sense, kind of like me, and half of the shit I do.]

'die my bride' by The Murderdolls

[kind of a good example of how I feel about relationships, and love in general.]

'People Hate Me'- Murderdolls

[Pretty self explainatory, if you know the lyrics.]

'Static Age'- The misfits

'TV Casualty'- The Misfits

and so on..

Abe Babe, I assume they're songs from FF?? But I was wondering what the lyrics to the songs are, I love the names, they're... they're.. so, romantic.. :)

He he!

A song to represent me? Probably 'Only a Memory Away' from Sailor Moon... They have beautiful songs in Sailor Moon... And 'Moment' from Marmalade Boy...

Big_Bro_Slig222 10-24-2002 07:23 PM

Hmm..........I'd say Chop Suey by System of a Down

Joe the Intern 10-24-2002 09:59 PM

Hmm...

Longview - Green Day (Damn you, Luke! ;))

And one of my own songs called Cinema. It isn't finished yet, but it represents me well enough. ;)

Edit: PA, The End is about incest. I guess you need that family lovin'...

sO fReAkIn oDd 10-24-2002 10:50 PM

The song to represent me is......

Nobody Home by Pink Floyd.

And everyone, The End is not about incest. A portion of the song, and one of the best parts, is about the Greek mythological character Edipus whom killed his father to marry his mother. Jim Morrison just uses rather vulgar terms to describe the story. It's an excellent song.

paramiteabe 11-02-2002 01:47 PM

I like that song thats all. Usually when I listen to it my imagination flurishes. You know they did that song in complete darkness. Now that is talented!

Rex Tirano 11-02-2002 04:13 PM

That song which goes 'I'm so excited andI can't hide it!' From the crunchie adverts...hehe! Also 'WONDERBOY!!!!' joke! haha!

Anything mental or hyper!!!! ^.^ :P

Mojo 11-02-2002 06:38 PM

Well, the songs that represent me the best are:

Stay together for the kids; Blink 182.

Lyrics:

'It's hard to wake up, when the shades have been pulled shut. This house is haunted, it's so pathetic, it makes no sense at all. I'm ripe with things to say, the words rot and fall away. What stupid poem, could fix this home, I'd read them every day'

It's kind of a depressing song, and I am depressed sometimes.

F*ck a Dog, When you f*cked Grandpa; Blink 182.

Lyrics:
FaD:

'I, wanna f*ck a dog in the ass, he wants to f*ck a dog in the ass, I wanna f*ck a dog in the ass. I tried to f*ck your mom in the ass. Tried to f*ck your dad in the ass. Could only find the dog, and his ass'

WyfG:

'When you f*cked grandpa did he kissed you soft and tender. Did he hold your hands be hind your back and was it on your mothers bed and THIS IS F*CKIN STUPID MAN! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'D HAVE SEX WITH YOUR OWN GRANDPA! WHAT'S HE GONNA DO? TAKE OUT HIS FALSE TEETH AND PUT THEM ON THE SIDE OF THE BED?'

These songs represent the weird/sick humour me and my friends have.

And finally:

Anthem; Blink 182. Thats just cuz the song fits me, kinda waiting for 'my true love' how mushy that may sound.

Lyrics:

'But good things come to those who wait, cuz she laid me. And mom and dad possess the keys, instant slavery. No need explain the plan no need ta even bother, I pack my bags, I'll swear I run, wish my friend were 21.'

EDIT: heh heh heh, better hide some of the words...

oddling 11-03-2002 12:02 AM

: l ..............um..........wow....so many curse words......uh.......I don't think you want any mods to see that post. *puts cover over alphascrab's post* Oh, and heres two other songs that represent me....

Horse With No Name by um.....someone again
