Where is Shrink?
I have a question: where is Shrink? I know it's in Abe's Oddysey, but which level? Please help! :fuzzle:

Sadly, the Shrink has yet to appear in any oddworld games. He did appear in the Abe's Oddysee fmv called "Guardian Angel" which you can see if you own the Playstation version of the game and know the view movies cheat.
I think. I have never seen him myself save his section in the official site. |
well it was also planned that he appear in MO with Sam, but yeah the plot changes has done it again

Well the Shrink video in Abes Oddysee was origanlly susposed to be an advratisment but they cut it and decided to use it as a secret FMV.

It's a pity that you can't get the Shrink clip on the net or even a download from Oddworld.com. I've been searching everywhere for a Playstation version of AO, but you just can't get them any more :( |
Try looking for AO at Electronics Boutique - they usually have a couple copies.

PS,I thought the muds needed new voices(in AO they share one voice.In AE they have a variety of voices).Also,Abe,s voice is different in AE(sorry if any of these have simple answers). |
simply: you can imagine some new thing or things to change for the next games, yut don't toucht to the previous games, they are just faboulous.

Hmm...Interesting Idea
Since AO and AE are no longer in print, maybe they could somehow be included as a bonus in future Oddworld games. Earlier, this would be impossible, but with DVD technology, it may be possible to include them on one or two discs with an original release as well. If that's not practical, they could just re-release the games if GT Games is okay with it.

well there is an idea to release AO + AE + SligStorm (a bonus game) but OWI don't even concidert the possibility yet

Over here (in Australia) Abe's Oddysee was re-released twice for the PS version ... it was released in the PlayStation Platinum range (where they re-release some of the popular older games at a lower price) and recently in a similar range by Infogrames (I'm not sure what the range was called).
As far as I'm aware, Abe's Exoddus has not been re-released for the PS. However both games were re-released for the PC under a "PC Platinum" range. But this was a few years ago and they are again hard to find. I don't think the games need to be re-made (as opposed to re-released), as the graphics (especially the FMVs and backgrounds) are wonderful and are great quality compared to other PS games. You need to not compare them with the current generation consoles like the Xbox and PS2 as graphics are now changed. Abe Babe... |

If they put shrinks in a game, wudd it be an enemy? i mean, is got claws and stuff, and probably comes with an attatchin buzz saw....

If anything, I would imagine the shrink would be severely depressed, and slightly masochistic. I mean, a machine that is self aware is automatically proned to boredom, sadness, and anger.
I'm sure that a machine/robot that was devoted to making one thing happy and stable, all the time, would eventually become quite resentful of that creature, or even worse, it's species. It also wouldn't surprise me, if that by the time we meet the shrink, he's gone insane. His shelf life isn't exactly short, you know. I actually would like it alot of he was insane when we meet him...it would really get that dark, gritty feel back to the game. A nice touch, since MO was so childish, and 'bright' feel. Xavier, I hope you reply to this, as you always have such interesting ideas and theories. |

Disgruntled Intern, I like that idea very much a little "speach" with an insane shrink could be very creepy, like he dunno what he tels, he becaume angry then sad, he can't control himself anymore... pretty scary. |

It would be neat to see his mood changes, and possibly take care of any 'interruptions'....:D He/she/it should be self delusional, at best. I wonder if the shrinks are capable of comitting suicide? |
well I think they can't.. cause they will have done it long time ago, those guys are all the time depressed.
