Who is your favourite character from Oddworld and why?

Well, you can't ask this at the chats, can you?:)
You write your favourite character from Oddworld, and I'm happy.

My favourite is General Dripik, of course.
I like those medals and the voice. I like Slig Barracks and sligs too.

brewmaster 08-20-2002 06:33 PM

My favourite is also General Dripik and I like him because he is just cool and he is probaly the best looking glukkon (meaning clothes).

souled out 08-20-2002 08:49 PM

for those of you who say alf is the best i am gonna DISAGREE. alf is ok but way over-rated.

best char in oddworld is probably that viker near the end of the game, damn if those bone saw things they carry werent scary enought but the ones in Armor were horrifying and hard to kill. that was the only point in the game that i almost lost my composure. they didnt say too much they just went straight for the kill.

but if you want me to stick to only developed characters then i have to say the 2nd glock star. He loves that fishy crap. he went home crying. it was a nice added touch to the auction. (which incidentally had GREAT music)

sligster 08-20-2002 10:55 PM

That 2nd Glokstar's name was Tex, and my fav character, well, I guess the newscaster slig. I generally like all sligs, but he would probobly be the best example.

Kaimana 08-21-2002 01:07 AM

Well i would have to say i like um all...sorry but i do:lol:

MojoMan220 08-21-2002 01:24 AM

Where's Alf's Oddysee already? Alf needs to where his fez more often aswell.

Kesiah 08-21-2002 03:31 AM

I would have to agree with Kai, I like all the characters, mainly because they all have different personality traits and are very well thought out. :D

Alcar 08-21-2002 04:28 AM

Munch.

I don't really know why, but I just like him more for some weird reason...

Alcar...

Abe the legend 08-23-2002 08:04 AM

Abe!Abe!Abe!

I don't know why.In just do.

Xavier 08-23-2002 07:05 PM

no dubble post.

my favorite character is Irwin, and then Alf

scrabinator 08-23-2002 11:10 PM

My favourite is Elum. Even though he's a creature he is still a character. His species is elum and his name is Elum. So am I allowed to vote Elum?

Xavier 08-24-2002 06:49 AM

where did you saw his name was Elum?
everybody call him elum like you would call your cat "cat".

Kaimana 08-24-2002 06:57 AM

Good point Xavier..but i dont know what Abe calls him or her.... its cool to think that Elum has a name..and we may not know it:fuzsmile:

Xavier 08-24-2002 07:01 AM

in the game he is allways called "the Elum"
I never heart someone give him a real name

Kaimana 08-24-2002 07:04 AM

nor have i...all i know him as is elum.....but what if he had a name:fuzconf:

Xavier 08-24-2002 07:08 AM

there are 2 differents Elum in AO and there are no distinctions between them, in fact elum is a wildlife creature, it would be like giving names to paramites or scrabs

Kaimana 08-24-2002 07:13 AM

Yeah i know in the game yes but of course if you think of oddworld itelf out of the game all the creatures would have some difference..as we do here at earth..i am not suggesting they have names but we dont know that.

Xavier 08-24-2002 12:17 PM

I know, I know.
but still, maybe it's like the humans, and only some mudokons give Elums name and others don't care, that can be an other posibility

paramiteabe 08-24-2002 12:43 PM

My favorite character would have to The Big Face and Munch. I like Big Face because he is so mysterous and to me he seems to be the wisest Mudokin. Munch because he is interesting to look at. His voice is much stranger than Abes and the fact he is the last of his race suposedly, that makes him even more odd which I like. Who knows we should do this same topic when all the games are out and then make a huge poll on it. There is so much of Oddworld that we havent explored yet that our thoughts on characters will change as the future of odd takes place.:fuzblink:

Actually Abe is wiser then him :fuzzle:

paramiteabe 08-24-2002 01:11 PM

Are you sure about that Xavier? It was Big Face who gave Abe his spirtual hand tatoos to give him the power of the Mudokin god Shrykull. and who sent him on his quest. It was Big Face who saved Abes Skin in the end when he was hanging over the meat grinders back in Rupture Farms. But that is ancient history as we all know. To me Abe seemed to have done everything by chance because he is a schmuck or hero. He was a cluts which made him into a savior of his people. The fact that he fell off that cliff before meeting the Big Face was by accedent. He was looking at the moon and he tripped and fell. He dident know about his destany until by accedent. I still believe Big Face is the wisest.

Xavier 08-24-2002 01:33 PM

well look at this

:

Q:Will Bigface appear in Munch's Oddysee? Will Abe disappear in the next game (Munch's Exoddus)?

Alf: Because this story is about Munch, Big Face does not appear (Bigface is Abe's mentor). In many ways, Abe has moved beyond what Big Face can teach him, which is one of the reasons the Almighty Raisin chooses this time to reveal himself to our heroes. And don't worry – Abe's story is far from over. He isn't going anywhere soon.

dripik 08-24-2002 03:55 PM

I don't want to break your talk about who is the wisest, and what is Elum's name, but write about your favourites, please.

Well, your talkin' is about favourites, isn't it. I'll should be happy if someone writes in this thread. :D It's not very popular, but I'm happy. Thanks for the ideas (about elum and who is the wisest). AND thanks for the votes!

Xavier 08-24-2002 04:02 PM

well, many topics are like this: they derivate on an other subject until someone else go back to the topic.

and this is a fun topic here

dripik 08-25-2002 01:22 PM

Xavier: What do you mean on fun topic? I don't know what it is... :fuzconf:

Xavier 08-26-2002 04:43 AM

well, uhm
some topics are simply boring with nothing intresting, and this one is fun with intresting discutions.

do you se what I mean?

dripik 08-26-2002 05:44 AM

Oh, I see...

My topic isn't too unpopular afterall... :D Thanks!

All though there have been other threads like this the members never get bored of showing who there favorite Oddworldians are..because opinions may change...or they may just like telling people...This thread is one of those ones that allow such expression to take place:fuzsmile:

dripik 08-26-2002 09:16 AM

Thanks!

Xavier says his favourite is Irwin. Who is Irwin? :fuzconf: :fuzconf: :fuzconf:

Xavier 08-26-2002 12:16 PM

Irwin Vykkers, bud of Humphrey Vykkers
well here is the info form the official site:

:

Irwin and Humphrey Vykkers
Typical of Vykkers scientists are Irwin and Humphrey, the personal tormenters of Munch. Partners in sadism, Irwin and Humphrey are luxury-loving researchers who dream of having more time to design and test painful consumer products. It was Irwin and Humphrey who figured out how to turn the last Gabbit into a labor-saving critter-retrieving device with a little meatball brain surgery and some leftover vacuum tubes. Outsmarting themselves, Humphrey and Irwin inadvertently gave Munch the ability to escape their multiple clutches by freeing Fuzzles with his surgically altered brain pan.
Humphrey and Irwin are the CEOs and Co-Despots of the highly profitable and far-reaching global pharmaceutical conglomerate, Vykkers Labs.

Xavier 08-30-2002 10:10 AM

dripik 09-01-2002 05:00 PM

POST YOUR FAVOURITE!

well, you're right... that's more interesting...

General Drippik 09-02-2002 07:04 AM

I like slurgs.

Central Gluk 27 09-07-2002 09:29 AM

I like Glukkons and Paramites but there is one that is better than those, when a mudokon turns into a shrykull. Man I like those
